I have been on a Colin Farrell movie binge. This one hit a sweet spot. We all need a Bobby in our lives.

This movie always takes me away into that "zone" where I'm transported back to my childhood with my older brother, the music, the drugs, the simple beauty of it all and the magic of friendship and affection that makes you contemplate your place in this world and where do you find your home among the many experiences through your encounters. I Love This Movie!!

Good Lord, this movie is one of the softest and most painful, yet heartwarming and also heartbreaking movies I have ever seen. Colin is such a precious being of light and love and innocense as Bobby, and Sissy and Robin.. it's a beautiful movie, but perhaps don't watch it if you've been lonely a long time and can't end that loneliness immediately after watching by hugging someone you love, because you will cry. I swear to God, it hurts really bad to feel so alone after watching such a tender movie with so much genuine affection in it, and then seeing that huge lack of affection in your life as you recall the last time you hugged somebody over a year ago and think to yourself "Will I ever be loved again?"

Saw this a long time ago, but the story stuck with me. The older brother was such a beautiful human. Colin Farrel was surprisingly great.

If art is supposed to move you, this film is a masterpiece. I get disturbed just thinking about this movie that I haven't seen in years.

This is one of my favorite films. And I haven't seen Dallas in a few years but he's a very nice person and a wonderful actor, as you can see here. And let's not overlook the theme song by Duncan Sheik. Beautiful.

Yes, yes it is. Although it has its faults, what this movie creates with its sense of the acceptance of loss and misplaced affection is unparalleled. This movie destroys me.

This was a gorgeous, gorgeous short story, and the movie didnʻt ruin it. Read it first, if you can. But see it, too.

I wouldn't call a 340-plus page novel a short story. Especially, this novel.

What's with the wigs on Bobby's character? Ryan Donowho was a cute boy.

Exactly. Like I said elsewhere, this movie is not without its faults, but what it does deliver is UNPARALLELED in filmmaking.

that's complicated... book and movie tell different stories, but both are equally ambigious

    • @jashuah9993

This two guys are more than lovers or brothers or friends
I do not know how to say it in english... They are one whole(can it be used like that?)
Anyways, it is really complicated, there is a love triangle, and of course there is a homosexuality.
