You call his name and he will not respond. He does not miss his mom on the other side of the world. He only says a few random words. He cannot use the restroom yet. He is in his own little world. My son is 5 and I’ve never had a conversation with him either. He also says words all day, just to himself. Never stop talking to him or asking him questions. Continue talking to him as if he were responding to you. He has thoughts, he just is unable to express them in a way you would understand. Some children start taking very late, like age 6, 7 or even 10. Never give up hope.
@@hadast3806 thank you. No I will never give up and keep talking to him. I really wish that there will be progression on this side. I'm currently experiencing the same thing with my nephew. He hasn't been diagnosed (we're still waiting to meet with a speech pathologist). He turned 4 in February, and he still doesn't talk as much. He can't answer questions like Alister can, but repeats everything his tablet says. Actually, that's the only way we can communicate with him is by using phrases and songs that his tablet uses. He can comprehend certain commands, but mostly everything else goes over his head. It's odd because when he was 2 he had a wide vocabulary and could sing all day, but as he got older he became more reclusive and I started to notice that he didn't respond to questions, commands, or wouldn't speak in longer sentences on his own like kids do with storytelling. It just sucks because his parents are in denial and don't want to admit to themselves that he might just have ASD. I'm not giving up on him though, he's a brilliant boy and videos like this give me hope.
Very insightful video. Thanks for sharing! My 4 year old says many words, and reads just about anything he can get his hands on…however, conversational sentences have yet to be fully developed. Looking forward to those talks though 😊

Very loving parents they didn’t force him to stay the entire video and realized he participated enough so they sent him of to play while they continued to converse with us. Too many parents force social media on their kids yet the balance and care in this video is refreshing. God bless this family may He give you wisdom grace and continued strength to nurture yourselves and child(children)
This kid is clearly intelligent. Looking at him in this video it appears his brain is getting too many messages at the same time like some kind of overload, the messages come in at hyper speed haphazard so he can’t concentrate or slow down. I do believe his neurological system/nerves need slowing down.. so the messages can come in at a normal rate to process. There is research that the vegas nerve can cause this , the nerves should be brought back in line to improve communication.. neurons are the electrical communicators - it makes sense.. and through chiropractors / adjustments of the spine - it may help improve neuro communications and hence speech.
This video really resonated with me. My son is currently 5 and in Kindergarten , he has a speech delay though since his birthday last February he’s made a ton of progress with vocabulary and basic conversational skills. I have a nephew who's autistic and he's 3 and words are very difficult for him even in therapy. You kinda just gotta be listening at the right time to catch him saying one. I'm worried he may never be able to speak like other children his age. Is it possible for him to be able to speak like this boy can?
He reminds me so much of my 6 year old. We just finally had his evaluation today. His speech has improved greatly with Kindergarden! But the way he answers questions reminds me of Alister. He seems like such a happy boy, as is my son. ❤ If youre able to answer my comment, what do think about the "level" distinction they use while evaluating?
are gave any medication for him? can u give me list I will do some search before decide to give my son , definitely will discuss with his doctor as well
Question forms can be quite 'oppressive' for some ASD children and I'd suggest that other strategies may be more effective. However try modelled example then question on same context e.g. 'my favourite food is fries, what about you?', then try forced choice with three options (assuming attention and auditory memory is OK) 'my fav food is fries, is you fav food A, B or C?'
My 4 year old has been diagnosed with severe Autism and she is about on the same verbal level as Alistair. Maybe a little improved now since she has been in ASD Preschool for 5 months 🙏🙏🙏 She does not stim though which is why I did not originally think she was Autistic.
My daughter is 4 years old (born at 34 weeks) She does not stim either. She Echo backs almost everything I say to her. She does have some sort of speech delay. I’ve spoke to her pediatrician and currently waiting to get her into therapy. It worries me because I don’t want her to feel different or self conscience about certain things.
This reminds me of my son who’s 4 1/2 and on the spectrum. Similar way of responding to questions with something unrelated but very interesting to him personally 😂 also when my son walked by while I was watching this video, he asked if it was “me when I was younger.” 😂
I get Dr Oyalo herbs supplements and it has been helpful on my child autism spectrum. All traits are gone with her speech and focus and attention is good to talk about.
This is so much like me at a similar age on hold home vhs tapes. He even looks a bit like I did! My parents never knew there was anything wrong at the time, and I never got a diagnosis as a child. There were certainly some struggles growing up in education and certainly in early adulthood trying to cope in certain workplace environments. Things are pretty good now though, makes me wonder how life would be now had it been identified back then.
He talks a lot more than my 6 year old, he'll only use random single words. Haven't heard him make a complete sentence yet. He makes the same movements and facial expressions as your son, but maybe not quite as severe. He's a little more laid back like his dad lol

Can i ask when did Alistair start speaking? As in saying words. My son is currently on his diagnosis journey, he is 3 currently and has no words what so ever
He is so smart ❤️ But what worries me is if my son have autism…he act somewhat like this and i really have no experience in a child with autism 😖 someone help. His the evaluator said he shows no sign if autism
my brother is autistic and im only 13 and he’s 7, I’ve learned so so much about autism from social media and experiences from him im sure you can too! he also had adhd so definitely look into do your son has adhd or autism bc they are very similar, you can search up autism traits and adhd traits and see from there im also autistic too which I just found out recently and now I think I’m really starting to understand autism more
My son is 7 and has all these traits with his speech and at a 3 word sentence if that . We have been going to speech now 2 years and while I see a little improvement don’t think it’s helping him in a way that I thought. Or in a way that he would and I would see improvement. Is this normal am I putting to much expectation on this ?? I am mindful not to put my son with my expectations but rather just keep working and doing what routine we. Have around home school and therapy but just feel like I’m not doing it right or I’m missing something. A y suggestions you can offer please pass on . ❤️

You should look up some info about Gestalt Language Processing, it will help you understand how to help him :)
I hop, my child speack He is 5 years old😭
thank you for this video. it really helps me to understand and feel for the situatuon
Hes so sweet i hope my son talks like this mine is 4 and not talking 💔

My son is 4 years old not talking but he is obsessed with numbers and the alphabet
I have a nephew who's autistic and he's 3 and words are very difficult for him even in therapy. You kinda just gotta be listening at the right time to catch him saying one. I'm worried he may never be able to speak like other children his age. Is it possible for him to be able to speak like this boy can?
Handsome little boys, your works paid off
It's clearly not a speech problem.
How old are you?
I have hands.
That's adorable.
are gave any medication for him? can u give me list I will do some search before decide to give my son , definitely will discuss with his doctor as well
Question forms can be quite 'oppressive' for some ASD children and I'd suggest that other strategies may be more effective. However try modelled example then question on same context e.g. 'my favourite food is fries, what about you?', then try forced choice with three options (assuming attention and auditory memory is OK) 'my fav food is fries, is you fav food A, B or C?'
He's so sweet.
I have autism and it’s not bad but kids with autism should be treated like regular people
My 4 year old has been diagnosed with severe Autism and she is about on the same verbal level as Alistair. Maybe a little improved now since she has been in ASD Preschool for 5 months 🙏🙏🙏 She does not stim though which is why I did not originally think she was Autistic.
Severe, like level 3? I wonder how that is determined. I thought that nonverbal was considered severe.
How do you know what level and/or if something is considered mild/severe?
I was diagnosed at 10 years old I’m 24 now
This reminds me of my son who’s 4 1/2 and on the spectrum.
Things are pretty good now though, makes me wonder how life would be now had it been identified back then.
he is lucky because he have a blessing family god bless him my lovely 😍
He talks a lot more than my 6 year old, he'll only use random single words. Haven't heard him make a complete sentence yet. He makes the same movements and facial expressions as your son, but maybe not quite as severe. He's a little more laid back like his dad lol

Nice. My 5-year-old daughter is showing spectrum issues. She does a lot of repeating and does not speak a lot of in sentences.
Can i ask when did Alistair start speaking? As in saying words. My son is currently on his diagnosis journey, he is 3 currently and has no words what so ever
I think on another video they said 3 or 4. I think 4
Thank you so much
He's so super cute!
He’s so cute!! ♥️
God bless him
He is so smart ❤️ But what worries me is if my son have autism…he act somewhat like this and i really have no experience in a child with autism 😖 someone help. His the evaluator said he shows no sign if autism
my brother is autistic and im only 13 and he’s 7, I’ve learned so so much about autism from social media and experiences from him im sure you can too! he also had adhd so definitely look into do your son has adhd or autism bc they are very similar, you can search up autism traits and adhd traits and see from there
im also autistic too which I just found out recently and now I think I’m really starting to understand autism more
@Kirsten Donaho um autism isn’t a disease or virus so I don’t think herbs can help with autism.. therapy is definitely better
My brother have autism.I am very much sad for it.
¡Gracias!
My Brother Has This Too. He Is 7.
Adorable 🥰
Cool kid! do they stay like this or do they develop into normal people?
My son is 7 and has all these traits with his speech and at a 3 word sentence if that . We have been going to speech now 2 years and while I see a little improvement don’t think it’s helping him in a way that I thought. Or in a way that he would and I would see improvement. Is this normal am I putting to much expectation on this ?? I am mindful not to put my son with my expectations but rather just keep working and doing what routine we. Have around home school and therapy but just feel like I’m not doing it right or I’m missing something. A y suggestions you can offer please pass on . ❤️
My daughter is 5years Old and has speech delay...how i wish i can get sponsorship for her.. am a single mother 😭😭
Do you have a video about talking about autism with our kid for the first time?
It's not speech delay. It's langauge delay. Is he taking any therapies?
He’s much older now he’s doing a lot better. I think he did do several therapies similar to his brothers
Let's go to the Padres game
My kid is 5 / has it.. and cannot say half of this.
He is so smart.Omghee...❤ he is spectaluar.❤❤❤
He is very sweet by the way
