Why is this man still walking around freely instead of locked in a permanent solitary confinement or some short queue to lethal injection is a mystery to me.
That he is a good man at the core is evidenced by his legacy. Now, I don't mean that ironically. Iraq was certainly a mistake - but the comparison with Russian aggression against Ukraine is grossly off. However, while G. Bush is assessed only through the lens of Iraq, it is completely overlooked that it was he who pushed through the PEPFAR programme - to which he is credited with saving 25 million lives. It was (and is) so successful that it has had an impact on life expectancy in a number of African countries. The joke is that almost no one knows about it. Liberals only see Bush through Iraq, conservatives are not a comparable group that would appreciate a humanitarian program. In other words: he got no positive political points for it, and he knew it. And yet he did it because he believed it was the right thing to do. If we want politicians to make the right decisions, this must not be forgotten in evaluating Bush's legacy. If we can't even appreciate saving 25 million lives, then we don't deserve to have the future be kind to us.

if you're talking about the removal of a suicidal genocidal tyrant like saddam and putting him on trial for genocide and being the world's largest state sponser of terrorism as of 2003 and invasion & annexation of other countries then yes, he did nothing wrong.
that would be a good argument if you didn't kill hundreds of thousands of civilians as you do always in your wars...God forbid you go change oppressive regimes in china, or north korea, or russia...but you are a coward states...learn your history buddy...massacre of natives, slavery,
@@MrGittz " Is the Middle East safer now than it was in the early 2000s? "
I think Iraq is safer now. First of all, there is no saddam there to cause the US to bomb the country again...thats a big step in the right direction!
All the muppets in this forum that simply say "war criminal! Period." just dont see the bigger picture. Saddam was the causal source of the whole mess. The US made it worse of course, but the Iraqi people, if they had any shred of sense, would be thanking their lucky stars that they didnt end up under the totalitarian rule of a guy like Kim Jong.

Mr. President, sir, I fully agree on your viewpoint on dismantling nuclear power in Germany.
It´s one of the most stupid political decisions during the reign of Gerald Schröder and Angela Merkel in Germany.
The German people will pay a very high price for this miscalculation which includes the massive reliance on russian gas via the baltic sea gas pipeline.
How could they?
U.S also made a huge mistake not continuing to build nuclear power.
Germans dont have any faith. We are doing everything to bei "good". I dont know why, but When i see Mr. Bush face in this hard Times and compare it to Mr. Obamas face... Ist really start to respect Mr. Bush.
This sorry excuse for a human should reflect on his own life for once and maybe he'll realize the devastation he has caused to millions of people abroad and thousands of Americans who lost their life because of his greedy oil war

Judging by the way he speaks, he has become much like a good politically informed ordinary pensioner.
Also, he started an illegal war that has cost over a million people their lives, making him a mass murderer, but who's counting

Everyone has faults. The greater the power, the greater the faults.

A war criminal
*Exactly*

Well said. Thanks
George W. Bush was a far right President and took the United States into the invasion of Iraq under false pretenses and should be tried for murder for the deaths of the resulting deaths of over 4,000 American soldiers and 100,000 Iraqi civilians.

Very rarely war criminals are this likable.
@ProgM I meant he has very likable personality...
There is nothing he can do to repair the damage he has caused: i'm talking about the damage of having invested in the wrong person.

The difference between Bush and Hitler is that Hitler failed at painting.
US went to Afghanistan for its own benefits and never intended to help Afghan people. America’s main intention was to steal the planted poppies and to export the most expensive minerals out of that poor country. Yet, the US signed the contract with Taliban for their own benefit. It was the US who empowered Taliban and supported their return to Afghanistan and left the most vulnerable Afghan people in mercy of the wild Taliban while removing their army out of Afghanistan as fast as they could. 😪😭😭

Killing +1M People?
He could be a great actor in Hollywood....
He was spot on in his comments that it was wrong for Germany to rely so much on Russian gas and oil
