They didn't become too poppy until after the High and Dry album. I was disappointed with the turn they took. I saw them for the Pyromania tour at the Notre Dame ACC. It was not one of the better concerts I've attended.
@@williamh4172 Actually High and Dry is my favorite Def Leppard song. I saw them on the Hysteria tour. I did like the show. I have never seen so many women in one place in my life. I will never forget that.
You young ladies are so fun to watch, especially when you're watching a song like this that brings back so many good memories for us "older folks" who aren't quite singers either, but were singing right along with you ;-) You rock!
Yes we were definitely blessed to have experienced those days. Great memories back then miss them more now than ever. Saw these guys back before the drummer lost his arm, great live band. Check out the song Photograph you'll like it 🤔
Also, you should look into the history of the drummer Rick Allen. He got in a car accident Dec 31, 1984 and ended up losing an arm. The band took a long pause and came back with the Hysteria album. Rick Allen was still the drummer playing with one arm.
Great lyrics! I love how they metaphorically describe the life of a gypsy into a woman who doesn’t know love because she’s always moving from one point to another whether it’s in a relationship or life
I discovered this song by accident my freshman year of high school in 1981. Heard it playing in a record store. Its actually from their first album that came out in either 1979 or 1980. Fell in love right then....❤️❤️❤️❤️
You have to react to more Def Leppard. They have so so many great songs. Hysteria is one of the greatest albums of all of time, in my humble opinion. If this was your first reaction to them you started in the right place. You can work your way up as they grew. One of the greatest bands ever.
YES.....finally some Def Leppard! I remember the first time I heard this song so long ago. Became an instant fan of the band and I still am to this day. You wore the perfect shirt for this video reaction Juliet (I have the same shirt...one of many Zep shirts I own...lol)! I hope you continue on the Def Leppard road. Many great songs from them. This video is of the few you can find when drummer Rick Allen had both arms. He was in a car wreck and lost his left arm. For a drummer to lose an arm is devastating. But Ricks story is very educational. He refused to give up. He had an electric drum kit built and relearned to play left handed beats with his foot. He should be an inspiration to all of us. Whenever you think life is too hard just think about Rick Allen. A drummer who lost an arm at the height of the bands fame. The band couldve given up on him, he couldve given up on himself. But no. If you have the support of friends and family you can get through ANYTHING.
During my teen years, they were one of greatest bands. But this was before Rick had the accident and having his arm amputated. Many, me included, believed that it was the beginning of the end for them. Having to find a proper replacement for Rick would be almost impossible, not only for his stage presence and musical style, the fans but also having the whole band to agree. When Rick told them he would quit, I'd like to think, that was the turning point of the story, making their resolve stronger. Also, with the new electronic drum set made specifically for them, they came back a lot stronger and with renewed fighting spirit. Glad they didn't stop.
Def Leppard's albums ( High and Dry , On Through The Night , and Pyromania ) drummer Rick Allen has both arms . Between albums Pyromania and Hysteria , he lost his left arm in a car accident . During his recuperation , he built a drum set that he could play with one arm . He's still playing to this day .
Wow!! Brings back memories great song I saw them at that age there 1st album saw them in NYC when the drummer had 2 arms yes he lost his left arm in a car accident but stayed with the band and turned out to be the best 1 arm drummer ever great reaction ladies as always keep on rockin 🤟
of the pyromania album, there are quite a few great songs 1: Photograph 2: Die Hard the Hunter 3: Rock of Ages 4: Coming Under FIre 5: Action! not words 6: Billy's got a gun When did Mia get braces?
The drummer later lost his arm in an accident. The band stuck by him and waited for him to learn to platy with one arm. All these years later they are still playing together. (this song is from around 1981 by the way)
Great reaction guys. Def Leppard is one amazing band. The guitar player Steve Clark died in 1991 and the drummer lost his arm but is still playing drums for them. He has a special electronic drumkit made for him. Please react to the late great Eric Carr drumsolo in the budokan. Lots of love from South Africa ❤😄🇿🇦
You two made me smile through out this reaction ;-) . I've seen Def leppard live twice. please watch them live at Don Valley stadium in Sheffield. their live performances are so much better than the old recorded sets.

The Drummer Rick Allen was in a horrible accident which lost him his arm instead of replacing him they waited for him to get better and they continued with him still
I'm so glad that you girls appreciate Def Leppard since it is a really old song. I'm from a small town and rap and gangster stuff was the biggest trend while growing up there. That being said, I was always teased about being a fan of rock especially Def Leppard, even when I moved to a new city it was hard to find fans of them. However, I did eventually find some friends who were fans of rock including the aforementioned band. It is neat and funny now to see positive reaction videos about them in 2020, especially from the new generation.
What I love about your reviews girls apart from you having so much fun and your enthusiasm is you pick old classic forgotten gems like this song from my youth.Very few if any channels have reacted to this song so thanks again.Heres another one you need to check as very few have and the guitar solo is one if the greatest ever and will blow you away. There is a fantastic live version from the Strangers in the Night live album but I prefer the studio version from the Phenomenon album. The band is another great British band formed in the early 79s called UFO and the track is Rock Bottom. Its a classic and the guitarist a very young Michael Schenker is one of the very best
Good to see a new generation getting into DL's early work. Went to their show with Motley Crue recently and they were definitely the more family friendly, wholesome band. 😆 I was 5 when this came out. What a classic track. Keep on rockin.' 🎸🥁✌️🎉
Rock and roll drummers rarely wore shirts back then. Led lighting didn’t exist and the incandescent lights created a LOT of heat. So if you’re seeing 80’s rock you’ll rarely see drummers wearing more than shirts and pants/shorts.
I Love you girls!! My favorite all time group. If you watch later videos of Def Leppard you'll see the drummer has only one arm that he lost in an accident. I was born in 82, grew up listening to these guys. Along with so many other great artists. My kids love a lot of the music from the 80s and 90s. Lots of good stuff, just gotta listen and be open
I've been to several of their concerts, and one song, for whatever reason, they didn't do at the ones I've been to (maybe someone knows?) is White Lightning. You two are awesome!
Praise God! I'm thinking that by what you are sharing, that you are encouraging others to "Think" about the lyrics of songs. I agree, 100%. With that said, "All things are permissible. Not all are advisable."
Yay! Finally some Def Leppard! You should do another of there's from after Phil Collen joined the band...and after Rick Allen lost his arm in the car crash. he was a good drummer anyway, but it's super impressive to see how awesome he is, when he's playing with only one arm! You should try Women or Pour Some Sugar on Me. Nope...you should react to Armageddon It! Fantastic song and a live video too.
This was before mutt Lang took over the band I like them better, they had an edge to them here it kind of got polished off, but that being said pyromania was a phenomenal album and one of the milestones of the '80s.
@@kurtsaxton9665 True. I like them both ways, honestly. I do think it is amazing to watch Rick play with only one arm...especially, if you have never seen it. I agree it was over-produced, but Hysteria was still a great album too. there's a reason it sold so well.
Great job reacting to Def Leppard, girls! I loved how into the band you got! More Def Leppard songs to try include Poor Some Sugar On Me, Love Bites, Rock of Ages, Photograph and Rocket!!
They were only 17 or 18 at the time. Before Phil Collen was a guitarist for them and the drummer still had both arms. They also based their name on Juliet's shirt Led Zepplin/Def Leppard.
@ DAVID ATHANS... HAY DAVE, I SAW THEM IN 79 OR 80... THEY AND A COUPLE OF OTHER BANDS FROM EUROPE OPENED FOR TED NUGENT. EVERY ONE ON THE FLOOR WAS THROWIN S*** ON THE STAGE AND ONE OF THE GUYS GOT HIT BY A BOTTLE. THEY WENT OF TO CLEAN UP AND UNCLE TEDDY CAME OUT AND TOLD THE CROUD THAT IF THEY DID'NT LET THE BAND PLAY HE WAS'NT COMEIN OUT... FOR THE MOST PART EVERY CHILLED OUT. I ACTUALLY SAW ACDC AS A WARM-UP BAND TOO! CAN'T REMEMBER IF THEY OPENED FOR JOURNEY OR STYX WELL STAY COOL AN KEEP PUSHIN ON... PEACE...
What makes the drummer unique isn't his shirtless torso anymore but the fact that, following a horrific car accident in which he lost his left arm from the shoulder, he learnt to continue to play the drums by substituting his left leg for his left arm, total kudos to Mr Rick Allen 👍🏼🇬🇧🤘🏼
More Def Leppard PLEASE. Their catalog is huge with NO mediocre songs among them. I have seen them in concert 8 times and they never disappointed. LIVE is usually the way to go, but the official videos for ROCKET and LETS GET ROCKED are awesome. Also, keep in mind that the drummer lost his arm in a car crash and still plays. Look closely.
One of the best things about Def Leppard was their harmonies. One of the coolest things to hear and see is Mick Ronson, David Bowie, Ian Hunter, Def Leppard and Queen doing "All The Young Dudes" during the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert.
Def Leppard are from Sheffielt UK. As for Joe Elliot (Singer), well he is a natural Tenor with quite a wide range. Of course he is an old dude now and cannot hit the notes in the original tuning, which means they tuned down their guitars in order to sing the songs properly. Also.. Def Leppard was founded in 1977... one year before I was born and they still exist today. Also... they have been inducted into the Hall of Fame of Rock'n'Roll. You see... you are dealing with GIANTS here my young ladies :)
@@kevynhansyn2902 January 78 :) Well.. we can consider ourselves the happy ones for being able to witness the wonderful tones of the 80s.... good times .. even as children. Wouldn't you agree? :)
@@Pokerface-tr1ds what's next your gonna say you were born on the 11th? Seriously, my best friend was born on that day, so it would of been weird. And it was good times, because I remember always defending Def Leppard in middle school over GnR. Growing up to love both, but when your a youngin, some decisions were hard to make.
Damn y'all. You brought me back to when I was 14 and heard this song for the first time. Thanks for your reaction! I'll loan you my cassette to listen again. HAha!
Youve got to finish it up with Switch 625! When they play it on the radio they always play those back to back and most of the time in concert they play those back to back.
I saw them back when they had the 360° rotating stage. The band members would hide under there and drink (and who knows what else) during Phil’s guitar solo set.
Please give a listen to a song called "Switch 625". It's a part of the 1st version of Heartbreak. It's an amazing guitar solo featuring Steve Clark (the long blond-haired guitar player you see in the video). Clark, along with Pete Willis (and later Phil Collen) provided a great deal of the riffs and melodies for Def Leppard throughout the 80's. Sadly he died in 1991, over 30 years ago.
The most unique thing about the drummer now is he had a terrible car accident a few years after this I think December 31,1984 & lost his left arm but amazingly he overcame it & is still the drummer for the band today.
Yes, he is in many ways a true inspiration. And I love how his band didn't let him go but waited for him to come back. That's what love and loyalty is all about IMO.
In fact, Rick Allen was recently named "Best Rock Drummer in the World" in a poll from Music Radar. So that's saying something for his lasting ability and appeal. Great job, ladies! 🤘🤘
Thanks girls for doing this song this song was so big back in the day it was everywhere!! Def Leppard need some great songs Pour some sugar on it. Billy's got a gun. Are probably the ones with the best beat if you like drums
I got the first like! On another note, I love the old Leppard stuff much more than later. On Through The Night, HIgh And Dry and Pyromania are great, after that I'm not that into them. Their older stuff was heavier too, songs like Wasted, Answer To The Master and Another Hit And Run", etc
I was quite shocked that you were not reacting to him drumming with one arm. He is a legend, and so much respect to the band for waiting until he could drum again after the car crash.
Def Leppard are my fav band of all time. People hate on them saying they only have 2 good albums, some even throw shade on their album Hysteria is their biggest and most popular. But they are unique in their sound and harmonies. You can definitely go down a very long rabbit hole with DL. I would suggest listening to more songs from the album this song is from -high n dry- and listen to “Let it go” next.

@@markwebb9594 Thank you Mark! You are too kind! We feel that it is important to understand our audience! After all, it is our RUclips family that gives us awesome suggestions! : ) We feel honored that people like our reactions to their (and now our) favorite songs! : )
Oh I love Def Leppard. I got through my first crush broken heart listening to this song :)
What sad is the heartbreak that there's no songs made like this anymore the past has hearts and souls
There’s tons of this kind of melodic rock out there, if you look outside of mainstream outlets. 🙄
This was a great song! It definitely woke us up! LOL! we'll have a look into "women" and "Pour some sugar on me" May you have a great weekend!
@@angelaluz405 Definitely a good album. They were amazing in concert no matter which tour you saw them on.
This song hits home for me.
Great job reacting to Def Leppard, girls! I loved how into the band you got! More Def Leppard songs to try include Poor Some Sugar On Me, Love Bites, Rock of Ages, Photograph and Rocket!!
Thank you Key mack!
Vocal harmonies just don't get any better than that! :-)
Have you heard Queen? The Beatles? The Eagles? The Bee Gees? Styx? Kansas? Journey? They actually get a lot better.
I could imagine you both growing up in the 80s with a rock t-shirt and a jean jacket..just rockin out with a cassette player 🤘
Not my favorite group but you are my favorite reactors so I watch to support you my honeys. Hope you are having an awesome day!! 😁
Thank you Doug for your support!
@@danasfaith5738 my pleasure. I wish I could talk to you and ask you about your love of music. I share that love of music too. ❤️
This Song is SICK
PEACE...
@@gringopines3476 I saw them on the Hysteria tour with Tesla as the opener.
And to bandmates and management, who supported him all the way. What wonderful people they all must be.
The Early to Mid 80s were just Magical... Glad you get to experience so much of it in your show..👍..1980-86...JUST WOW..
Sing if you want. I can't carry a tune in a suitcase. But I always tell people....the louder the music, the better I sound. :)
LOL!
Hahahahaha we're both Old! February '78 here!
They had a very hard rock/soft rock polished sound. Total radio hits all thru their career.
Damn y'all. You brought me back to when I was 14 and heard this song for the first time. Thanks for your reaction! I'll loan you my cassette to listen again. HAha!
At this moment the drummer got 2 arms, later in Def Leppard´s history, he loose a arm, and will be known as the one armed drummer:)
Muy buena banda me encanta como reaccionan Saludos desde Argentina
Gracias Damian!
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Freebird Live at the Oakland Coliseum 1977 - it will blow you away!
Definitely!
Yeeeee girls thankssss
Hey queens! You should react to two of my fave Def Leppard tracks, Photograph and Pour Some Sugar On Me 🙌🏼
Awe! You are too kind! "Queens"
For your information the drummer later lost 1 arm in a car reck. He plays now with 1 arm and 2 feet.
Youve got to finish it up with Switch 625! When they play it on the radio they always play those back to back and most of the time in concert they play those back to back.
Defleppard is one of the best Rockers of all times
Damn!! I had to look it up. I was 11 when this came out!! And it still rocks!!!
Just wait til you get to the part where their drummer lost his arm, and they stayed with him!
I'm with you on that, but for me just the first 2 albums are the only ones that I continue to listen to.
You had it right with the first two albums there were definitely a different band , pyromania was good that was the first album with Mutt Lang.
I agree 100%
I was quite shocked that you were not reacting to him drumming with one arm. He is a legend, and so much respect to the band for waiting until he could drum again after the car crash.
He still has both arms in this video
@@battaliance Yes, and the music changed a bit afterwards...Still great music.
Rick allen using both arms before his bad car accident lost one arm but he still plays with one arm the drums
It's so catchy all the 80s songs where
