Thanks for the video man ! Going to tackle my idler and pitman arms in the morning 👍
Thanks for your support! Good luck!
thank you SO much for making this video! keep up the good work bud!
Our pleasure! Thanks for your support!
New sub here....great content. I don't even own a truck. This guy sounds as smart as a pilot would be.
Thanks for your support!
Love the channel dude. I love my 94 SR5
Thanks! Gotta love these things.
Nice! Just cranking out the projects...what's next?
Next will be full Diffs, transfer case, and transmission oil change. Then after that CV Axles.
@@roughcutsgarage I need to do fluids on the red truck soon. Probably put it back into service in March or April sometime.
I can come down and help you. That would be fun.
Had the exact same thing happen to me, had an alignment done and the car drives straight and perfect but the steering wheel is crooked. About to center the steering wheel and see how it goes, did centering the steering wheel affect the clock spring mechanism (where the switches behind the steering wheel is) at all?
Good thought but no it has not affected it at all. I'd have to look at the diagram to see if it would have an effect on it but with the small adjustment we made, it works fine.
love it
It's fun to take thr yodas out rn in the snow.
Haha they are awesome in the snow. So much fun!
At 7:20, do you know what the button at the far left is for? The button right below the vent, to the left of the red light.
That's the clutch cancel button. Pressing that overrides the clutch pedal sensor and allows you to start the vehicle without pressing in the clutch pedal. Some folks have mentioned that in gear, they have used that button to move the vehicle using the starter although I have never tried it.
@@roughcutsgarage Thank you for the reply.
Hi, thank you for these videos, it's so hard to find good 2nd gen content. You said you did all the steering components at the same time. I have a 94 4WD with 210K miles and all original parts. I want to replace all the components as well. Any tips regarding order that will make the job easier? I'm thinking relay rod or steering damper? Thanks!
Our pleasure, if I were to do it again, I would do control arm bushings, ball joints, shocks. Then idler arm, pitman arm, tie rods (get an alignment done after this), then steering damper and if need be, straighten the steering wheel.
Thank you! @@roughcutsgarage
Torn CV boot at 7:00!
Thanks for the heads up. We have replaced both of them now. Appreciate it!
sure thing and cool video!
What is the problem and did you replace it with a new one?
The knuckle in the arm was worn out causing sloppy steering. We swapped it out with a new arm.
Should have taken it for a wheel alignment. Next time you go for new tyres and wheel alignment, your steering wheel will be out again.
Haha funny you should mention that. Not sure if the previous guys did a proper wheel alignment because they were the ones that knocked it out of alignment in the first place.
Bro la caja de de direccion es un repuesto o se repara
It is a replacement Pitman Arm.
Is the turning radius the same in both directions?
Should be yes
Would you say the parts you select are near OEM quality? I try to to always use Toyota parts but sometimes they’re hard to find to very expensive. I need to do a bunch of front end suspension work and steering work.
I wouldn't say they are as good no. A lot of the parts i'm pretty sure are made in China. Most of the parts I use are ACDelco or Moog and I figure I run a high chance of beating them up offroad.
@@roughcutsgarage ok thx for input. I have a 2WD daily driver that doesn’t leave pavement so I think non-OEM will have to work for some parts.
Hi! How much did the steering play improve after this? Is there a way of knowing if my pitman arm is loose? I have a 91 ...
To test it I imagine you could free it from the cross bar and try to wiggle the end of it. I did the steering components at the same time so I couldn't tell you if the pitman arm specifically tightened anything up.
