I miss the old 4x4s with the spare attached to the boot nice and easy on your back with big heavy wheels, fair enough putting in or under the boot with a space saver or like a standard 16"
you two blokes are genuine. I gave my Ford transit on 50,000 miles to garage for timing belt loose Idle gear sprocket they replaced didn't tighten to correct Torque cam loose ruinee my engine.I at to buy new engine
Great video, Nators can be a pain in the ass to wriggle out especially if they are mounted to the rear bottom of the engine I'm so glad mine is mounted at the front at the top for easy access.
Nice work lads. I have one question? what happened with the oil leak on the alternator at 10:30 ? Is the owner just going to leave it and buy a new alternator again?
You’re very right! Fixing that oil leak will require a workshop and not a mobile mechanic. The owner got the car booked now, what we recommended him to do
Lara & john my hat is off to you both troopers, working in the cold and in the dark, lots would have left and maybe come back another day, will the oil leak from the timing chain cover damage the new alternator further down the road, does he need to get that fixed, how far do you guys travel to do a job please.
Yeah he’s got it booked at a workshop already I believe. We can travel all the way to Scotland, just depends if they’re happy to pay for the call-out fee 😂 In all honesty, it depends on the job. If it’s worth it for us, we will absolutely travel to the customer
Will need a workshop for that mate. He’s already booked to get it sorted. Warned him that if he doesn’t get that fixed, the alternator will fail in no time
My alternator packed up in my RROVER and I've seen various people on RUclips with broken RROVER alternators, so along with all the other problems you get with the RROVER is why I sold mine, it could be a good car but alas it's to unreliable especially for a car costing that amount of money. It's saying something when a cheap Dacia Duster is more reliable.
Well done guys BUT we can see why these vehicles have become so unpopular and the underside of that car looks in worse condition than my 30 years old car, how come!
150 grand car that had a crap short life expectancy engine from day 1… who buys these things…people who don’t know a screwdriver from a 6 sided socket from an oil filter..…that’s who.😂😂😂
My dad had a car like this, and you'll never guess what happened. The engine seized up and fell into pieces... Quality. It was very well serviced, anticipating unfavorable comments.
Mate there bad bad engines them if box has leak u won’t stop it without removing box been there done it not for me ppl don’t wanna pay and I service all dsg boxes
It was destroyed when it was built its a landrover if you own a landtover it's a life time of misery and dispear waiting for the next repair which is never cheap also the customer will become one of your family as u will see him more than them😂
Got to admire you two you don't give up and are reall grafters with technical knowledge good luck mate's,
Thank you 🙏🏾
They're grafters not grifters.
Earning a living the hard way fellers! good on you.
We’re the real definition of road-men “back on the road again!”

you two blokes are genuine. I gave my Ford transit on 50,000 miles to garage for timing belt loose Idle gear sprocket they replaced didn't tighten to correct Torque cam loose ruinee my engine.I at to buy new engine
That’s their fault, no?
@@themarvelousvlog Yes but they are denying it, so i have at to take them to small claims court.
Great video, Nators can be a pain in the ass to wriggle out especially if they are mounted to the rear bottom of the engine I'm so glad mine is mounted at the front at the top for easy access.
Awesome content as always lads! Every days a school day hey.
Every single day!
That car hasn't been £150k for about 15 years. It's about £10k now

What a beautiful looking car
Nice work lads. I have one question? what happened with the oil leak on the alternator at 10:30 ? Is the owner just going to leave it and buy a new alternator again?
No, he’s booked his vehicle in to get the timing chain cover resealed 🫡
Not fixing the oil leak and replacing the alternator not good workmanship.
You’re very right! Fixing that oil leak will require a workshop and not a mobile mechanic. The owner got the car booked now, what we recommended him to do
You need a work shop lift to replace timing chain oil seals 😢
Correct!
@@themarvelousvlog lets be honest. thats not a new leak. its been leaking for a very long time. that customer isnt going to fix it,
Well done boys bloody cold to be be working outside😊
Tell me about it! 🥲

Get a set of quick jacks ASAP, it will save you a lot of time jacking up cars.
Cam cover gaskets leaking on to the Alt, this is very common for the 5.0 V8 engine.
It’s insane how often this happens
The "Autobiography" seems to be a waste of money but does have a happy ending
So much knowledge on old heads
Always interesting videos guys 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇬🇧
Glad you enjoyed it
great video marv
Appreciate it!
good job lads
Thanks 👍
you lads aer very efficient at your work peace
Thank you! Salute!
Looks like the garage seriously devalued that vehicle.
Truly mate
That looks like a transit water pump 3:27 they look like hoses of a mondeo am sure them Range Rover are made up of different car parts
The Marvelous Larva & CO
JLR is such JUNK!!!! 😊
Great video as normal mate, what area do you cover and how do i get hold of you please
Thank you mate!
Please contact me on WhatsApp 07599662470
Thank you
Well done mate
Thank you good sir! 🫡
Will the new alternator fill with oil??? Still leaking only a matter of time. Otherwise a good job.
That’s right! He’s booked his vehicle in already to get the timing chain cover fixed
But didnt fix the oil leak???
Will need a workshop for that mate. He’s already booked to get it sorted. Warned him that if he doesn’t get that fixed, the alternator will fail in no time
That's why main dealer charge. 80 q. An hour to
Jlr could be problematic.
You think? 😂
I think they ARE problematic 😅🥲

Even as a mechanic, I get scared of owning one 😅😂
Sounds like your delivering a baby as well😱😂😂
I totally agree 😂
well done
Thank you!
Well done guys BUT we can see why these vehicles have become so unpopular and the underside of that car looks in worse condition than my 30 years old car, how come!
Because it’s a RR 🥲
The owner needs to fix the oil leaking timing chain oil seal first😢
£150k …. Eugh… brother 😂
😂😂😂
It’s not a Sport….its a full size Range Rover…
150 grand car that had a crap short life expectancy engine from day 1… who buys these things…people who don’t know a screwdriver from a 6 sided socket from an oil filter..…that’s who.😂😂😂
😅
My dad had a car like this, and you'll never guess what happened. The engine seized up and fell into pieces... Quality. It was very well serviced, anticipating unfavorable comments.
I believe this engine was derived from the 4.4L V8 BMW but retouched by JLR 😅
@@themarvelousvlogNo it’s a Jaguar developed engine nothing to do with BMW! 😊
Don't worry too much it's a Range Rover you will be back there soon enough 😂😂
😆
Need to fix the leaks😂
Definitely, not me though as we can’t do the job on side of the road. He’s booked in to a workshop now 😁
@themarvelousvlog fair enough, thanks for replying.
Why did you not fix the oil leak and it well go again 😢
Vehicle is booked in to a workshop. We cannot do the job as a mobile mechanic unfortunately 🥲
6:18 ford motor company tensioner says fo mo co on it another fo mo co part 10:21
on the floor , and outside ,,, lol rather you than me
Dont buy a Land-rover unless you have deep deep pockets for repairs and servicing 😂
I agree!
why put a new alternator on when its going to leak oil on it again and fail?
We asked him to go to workshop straight away. Warned him about the situation and he’s already booked!
Why did dash say 01/01/2013?
Time travel 😏
Should you be doing a flush with fluid like that?
100%
Where are you based
Mate there bad bad engines them if box has leak u won’t stop it without removing box been there done it not for me ppl don’t wanna pay and I service all dsg boxes
Hoping not to come across one!
What about the leak?
Booked in a workshop to get sorted
Never buy an land rover you asking for toubles
See they dont trust you with that steering lock jobby
I wouldn’t trust anyone with that kind of money, that’s for sure!
Money pit cars made for posers
He was a good hard-working man. Money is deserved
Pain in the a$$ job, ive got them down to about 2 hours never enjoy doing them tho
With the older models (L320?) it’s much easier as the alternator actually fits in that hole by the wheel arch- would’ve been an easy day 🥲
@themarvelousvlog agreed, just gotta be brave with those "flexible" brake pipes once you've unbolted the abs pump on the newer ones 😉
MECHANIQUÈ!
Forever a #MECHANIQUEEE!
H much was this job if you don't mind
Including the alternator and the flush, £1300 😁
what a money pit
Perished mate .
Shiniissshhheedddd!
Great cars but to unreliable and a magnet to car thieves
I agree!
Money pits land rovers i would never buy one ever if i won the lottery
Great looking car but the hardware is just soo badly designed 😂
Channel nsme shoukd changed to auto related
It is, isn’t?
What’s the point of replacing alternator with oil still peeing out ….sell the car
The point is so he can drive it to a workshop 😂
Great work but what a garbage brand of vehicle
I agree!
What is that incessant beeping?
So damned annoying
It’s our inverter in the van- sorry! Only there for the intro I believe
half a job
Yeah, here and about there… 😅
Want to go into the woods, take a Land Rover, want to come out of the woods take a Land Cruiser......
It was destroyed when it was built its a landrover if you own a landtover it's a life time of misery and dispear waiting for the next repair which is never cheap also the customer will become one of your family as u will see him more than them😂
Hahah! Very true 😆
Did you fix the leak
We got him to go straight to a workshop. We will not be able to re-seal that timing chain cover on side of the road
The spare wheel has straps that lift it out the boot if you knew Range Rovers! Great Job btw! 😊
