I've watched a ton of vids on laser engravers. The 2 that keep coming up are Sculpfun and xTool. I'm really close to dropping the hammer on an xTool. I'm retired, so I'm going to focus on easy, quick products. I don't want to deal with painting and finishing. Maybe cutting boards, if it's just oil. If you want to do more complex products you might look into CNC machines that use a bit. Of course they are messy. Probably the biggest negative. JMO.
These machines are excellent for marking and customizing gun parts!

There's really not a specific answer. It all depends on where you are in the world and how much money you can spend. As most things in life.
