Kayak fishing rivers can be dangerous. (Scary Moment)

  • Kayak fishing in rivers is not for beginners. Strong current and underwater obstructions make fast-flowing rivers something you should work up to, not necessarily dive right into. Always wear a life jacket and never try anything that makes you nervous or uncomfortable, because if you aren't sure if it's safe, it's probably not safe. Good luck fishing out there, and keep common sense at the front of your mind!

Scariest moment of my life probably. Got us both out and didn't lose anything. 2 rods is better than your life or the yak being gone.

One reason I've never sat in a kayak-canoe yes but not a kayak. Actually these last 2 springs I spent time shopping them, than rethought. That would of been all saltwater usage until lately. Now that I also live on your favorite Florida river, if I had one I'd be flipping it there too-most likely. Lot of entire trees in this area of the river, some unknown to be there until the river lowered 5 feet in the last 4 weeks.

A smidge is just about enough.. maybe if you give it a nudge or a fidge ! Never know, unless you do and that would probably create a conversation that either of us would possibly agree on! Perhaps! That’s the word! Perhaps!

If I ever get a kayak my rods and tackle bag/box/whatever will be TIED DOWN until I am firmly secured in place. I would say me too but I'd have a life vest on because I can't swim to save my ass lol

Poor Corey, I'd be sick too. I might even say some seriously Beeped Words. What a loss. Such is the life of a man fishing for Giants in a very small Plastic Boat. Hope to see part 2 where Corey catches the biggest Flat of the year with just one rod/reel combo. That would be true foreshadowing and very Ironic.

Man most of us work our asses off to afford rod and reels. I hate seeing ppl lose them!

    • @RiverCertified

The rivers you fish are absolutely full of timber and log jams. I fish rivers as well but I don't chase catfish. You must lose a lot of tackle. I know I do.
