Knock down shots, guys, knock down shots. Growing up and learning to golf in South Dakota, you were taught how to hit those just after you learned to walk. The only thing that stopped the wind up there was the barbed-wire fences! Great video and the driving iron is a must have! 🙂

I recently went to test some new and upgraded clubs and boyyy what a difference. I play with mizuno mp-67’s and definitely need a fitting if I want to improve my game.

That is coming for sure! We still have to do a couple more brands but we will have, "What made the Bag" before the season starts here in Denver

Looking at one of these to replace my Hybrid. Just so inconsistent with them. Don't have an iron below a 5, and I've been relying on that over Hybrid at I just don't trust myself with it at all. 5 Iron is super consistent and I can get a decent 170 odd meters (sorry used to playing in New Zealand) out of it off the deck (around 185 yards, I don't have a super fast swing, back issues go figure), so sacrifice a bit of distance over accuracy every time. Really feeling the need to plug that gap between 5 wood and Hybrid though, and have been looking at the 4 iron model of this Driving iron. Think this just sold me.

Yeah you definitely need to get some work in with it so you can stand over it confident. Driving irons are a different animal

The Srixon balls are nice. I tried a taylormade and mizuno driving iron and I preferred the hybrid. I have an old adams 2 hybrid for those windy days

Does the Srixon driving iron have shaft options just in case you need / want a different weight or flex?
Saw comment below about Mizuno Fli Hi Driving Iron, are there other brands you looked at that might work better for High / Higher handicaps.

Yes you can change it around if you wanted to. I hear the Mizuno is a great driving iron as well. We will be getting one in to test here soon so stay tined.

Srixon does make amazing driving irons, but the mizuno pro fli hi 3 driving iron is my absolute favorite club in the bag.

Lol I have a very old driving iron that used to be a staple in my bag. Then I learned how to hit my driver near the fairway…but that Srixon looks like it could do some damage!

I think they are a great off the tee or fairway option, but I would still want a wood for rough , or other shots where the loft is helpful

@embersgolf I thought this video was really good because most amateur golfers with slower swing speeds would never think to try a driving iron. Here in Ontario few golf shops even stock all the brands of driving irons, likely because they don't sell well. I like this channel because the reviews are done from an amateur perspective. Most RUclips channel equipment reviews are done by PGA pros. Most of those reviewers can hit a shovel better than I hit a club...lol

I’ve played lots of different types of balls and think the Srixon balls are top of the bunch.

I have been thinking about adding one.Was considering the PXG but may have to look into this one. Question why did you go 23* and not 18*? My pxg gen5 6iron is 23* so I'm thinking of an 18* or do you think that would be to hard to hit? I don't have fast club head speed.
If you can get to the right Fitter they should give you the option to hit both and see which feels and performs better. I like being in that 23 range but thats just me. Let us know what you end up with 👍

Yeah you can make some small adjustments but they are pretty strait forward. They are retailing for $240 right now I think.

How would u compare the srixon glove to PXG glove
The PXG is very good and soft too, the Srixon just has such a good feeling in the knuckles. That’s my viewpoint at least 🤷
Just so you know, you are using the Srixon zx utility iron, Scottie Scheffler does not use this club, he has a 3 iron 20 degree and a 4 iron 23 degree Srixon zu85, this is the older model, 2018 I think.

Played my first round with my bro the other day. He hits driving iron 80% of the time. I told him I want a driving iron but I’ll never be able to hit it. After the round he pulled a club out of my bag and said “what is this”. I said “its a club I found on sale but I’m terrible with it”.
He said… “Dummy this is a Mizuno driving iron”. 🤦🏿♂️

Most mid-handicappers aren’t going to hit a driving iron better than a hybrid or fairway wood. I went down that rabbit hole and ended up selling the driving iron. Mishits were way too punishing.
We were in that same boat with the driving irons we have tested... But the Srixon changed my mind at least. Its definitely not for everyone but worth hitting if you get a chance to try one. Thanks for watching and sharing 👍

I use a 3 and 4 iron from the callaway x12 series and a 3 hybrid and I can hit my hybrid even in wind as a stinger piss missile. Can't hit the long irons to save my life

Love the comparison. I’m still a fan of the 7 wood. Just can’t seem to hit the long irons well. I can send my 5 iron 200-210 all day.
