Thanks for filming here! One of very few residential buildings in NYC that has turnstiles, possibly due to being a former office building. This building has a "hotel" (might be more of an Airbnb/vacation rental?) on floors 2-6 (I think this set of elevators is not behind turnstiles), and restaurants on floors 63 and 64. As far as I know, 61 is a residential floor (the top one). Is the elevator you said goes to 61 the restaurant elevator? Did you film the hotel elevators or restaurant elevator?
@@metropolitanelevators There are 2 restaurants, one on 63, one on 64. I assumed they were served by the same elevator but it is possible there is a shuttle elevator going between 63-64 or something. If you are willing to say, is the restaurant elevator easily accessible, or are you only allowed in with a reservation?
@@upanddownadventures I’m not sure. I would assume you need a reservation. It’s pretty much the same as the residential elevators except it serves every floor in the building (63-SC). There is a “jump elevator” that serves floors 60-66. 65 is the motor room for the restaurant elevator while 66 is an observation deck. The jump elevator I operates similarly to a sidewalk elevator on that floor.

I didn’t film the hotel or restaurant elevator. Also the restaurant elevator actually goes to 63. Sadly the hotel elevators are carded.

Moments before disaster
What's going on with that floor indicator? One was an up arrow with a + and another was a up/down arrow with SW?
