Hello Morgans! Love your content. I am 89 years old and grew up on a farm in South Carolina. We had a sawmill and two strong mules to pull the logs to the sawmill. My job at the mill was to stack the slabs. Love the clearing that you have done. We always called it new ground. If my dad and Grand Father would have the equipment that you have, no trees would have been left. They always wanted to plant more crops. I am a retired minister of 60 years and a proud VET.
Dr. James E Quick
Thanks Jim, I’m sure you have a lot of great stories
Happy Mother's Day to all the Morgan moms.
Good morning from Upstate South Carolina. Nice productive day. That Avant skidder is the trick. Have another productive day, and happy Mothers Day to all you moms out there.
"Maybe its a hybrid". Haha. Back in the 70's my dad worked with a guy that bought a VW bug for fuel efficiency. The guys at the office started secretly adding fuel to his car. The guy "couldn't believe how fuel efficient the car was" and would brag often about his amazing car. Then they started syphoning fuel out, the guy would come in scratching his head wondering why his fuel efficiency was so terrible. This went on for months. Ah, the good ole days.
Lol
Westinghouse in Cheswick? Guys did it there too. lol.
PPG in Lexington, NC, there too 😁
Didn't his gas gauge work?
Thats funny 😂
Happy Mother’s Day to Mellisa!
Happy Saturday to all the Morgan’s.
Hello Hunter!
Happy Mother's Day to Melissa, Hannah, and Kate. I hope you enjoy your weekend.
I can see the smile on Mike's face with that new toy...
Happy Mother's Day Melissa, Hannah, Kate. Greeting to Hunter and Eva. God Bless
Cool night last night here in NH. Went down to 37 degrees but here this Saturday morning the sun is shining and no rain. Hot cup of coffee in my Morgan mug and another nice video, thanks Mike!
Morning Mike and Friends..... Saturday is here, enjoy your weekend.....
Pete 🇨🇦
Hi Pete, Beautiful day here. 270 yards of concrete poured today. Huge house pad.
Good Morning Morgan Family 🌞- Have a Fabulous and Blessed Day 🤠
Good morning!
Happy Mother’s Day to Melissa and your oldest Daughter! (Sorry, I forgot her name).
Mike, when I rented an excavator to clear some land, I would grab the trees at one end, then rotate the tracks in the direction I want it to go and drag the trees that way. It seems like that would be a more efficient and possibly even easier way to do it than use the avant as a skid.
Hannah
I guess having great equipment will spontaneously get stuff done. Wasn't planning to do it, but after starting, it gave you the desire to keep on it till it was done. Fun doing it, nice feeling when you finished. That's a good day! I hope you beat the stilt grass, I bet the deer is wishing the same. Good luck. Thanks for sharing.👍🚜❤️🙏🇺🇸🇺🇸
Hey Mike, I have every confidence you WILL be able to drop that leaning Oak tree right down the middle of the road !! Take it slow and steady and you CAN do it !!
You'll save a bundle of $$$, too !!
I realise that you really only keep the good wood, but Man the amount of firepit stuff you are burning is unbelievable, yes the amount of time and effort that it takes to cut and split all the rubbish is a pain, but seriously in my house, from October to the middle of March, having no decent wood to burn on the wood burner and firepit, we survived on all of the rubbish I had collected over the projects done the previous couple of years, I get it Mike, the amount of time that you would need to put in to salvage all that wood is time consuming and yes you do have a shed load of trees, but it was really worth the time and effort here in the UK. Another great video Boss.
I kept myself in firewood and sold some for years from piles like he is burning that were left by loggers.
Happy Mother's day to Hannah, Kate, and Melissa. The avant is working great it seems. Clearing is looking great.
Good Saturday morning Mike, family and OWTM community....stay healthy, stay safe. Steve in Calgary
You ever root for The Oilers? Wild fan here.
@@Z-Bart of course....get a couple Flames games in a year...but not a die hard fan far any team. Have Flames, Oilers and Sabres jerseys from over the years. I think Levi Morgan is an Oilers fan?
@@stephendobie5013 Yeah, I didn't want to offend you if you were a die hard Flames fan. Lol.
Hi Mike, You could use the plunge cut to cut the oak tree down. you can steer a tree pretty good doing that.
Using an Avant timber grab here in Portage, MI. for the clean up of trees from our tornado.
Trees all over the place, some 4ft. in dia.
The new FEDX building took a hard hit. Lost a min. mall.
First time in over 44 years I was ready to go in the basement. Missed me by 3 miles!
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the moms! 🌹🙏 🌈
You can never have enough fire wood poles. ❤
Happy mothers day to Mellisa, always nice to see her come out and work along side of Mike. I hope Hunter enjoys his chicken sandwich, I know that's a daily event for him. God bless all the Morgans and I pray that everything you do continues to be a success.
I bet Buckin' would come help with that oak tree!! That'd be a great video 😀
Good Mountaineer Morning to the Morgan's!!
Good morning Mike
Wish Melissa a happy mother's day for me.
Thanks Mike, enjoyed that, take care
Quite a nice pile of firewood poles in your woods already. You are flush with firewood.
Mike, on the oak tree. If you open face notch the tree in the direction you want it to go, start your back cut on the low side and work into the high side wood it will go exactly where you want it to go
Don't forget to calculate the lean, the weight of branches influencing the pull, and other tree branches affecting the drop. It's not as simple as just notching a face on your drop side. Mike knows his stuff and works safely.
@@jangrahame4891 and I know my stuff. I’ve had training, have you?
@@jangrahame4891as do I. I have had training and have dropped many trees. Have you?
Man. I like that machine. I was born twenty years to early. That why this old man enjoys your video.
I'm with you there!
Happy Mother's Day Melissa.
That avant seems to fit in well with the other equipment. Looking forward to seeing its other capabilities. Happy Mothers Day to all the moms out there. Stay safe everybody
hope all are well, something for info - i have a john deere gator diesel - it got so it would not start - found some brown slime stuff at fuel filter- spoke with some people - found out some sort of bacteria forms slime in diesel fuel - so in process of taking fuel tank and clean all through , but also have a jd 2305, and kubota rtv 900d - so found some power service clean fuel additive to clear the fuel and i use power service fuel additive for lube and centane boost in all diesels, so you might check on the storage fuel tank so you and others do not have the same problems
Good morning to The Morgan Family Everything is looking great Hope you have a great weekend God bless
What happened to the stone total for 2023? Did I miss that somehow?
Good morning Morgan’s ☕️🦌 Thanks for the video and Happy Mother’s Day to Mellisa.
Analysis of brush fires. Love it
Blessings to all! Happy Mother’s Day.
Mike I wonder if your high boy dump truck would serve your purpose. Upgrading it to power steering and brakes and some backup cameras would be cheaper than any other option you have mentioned.
The Avant looks like it is a very valuable part to what you do Mike. I am surprised at the power, lifting and maneuverability it has for such a compact machine. Liked the video. :)
Than Avant works great as a skidder. That looked very efficient
Hi Hunter, have a GREAT day!
Well done!!!
Good morning y'all !!! Have a wonderful weekend !!!
Good Morning Morgan family from wet rural Central New York
For the invasive grass, could you do what we sometimes do here in Texas, which is bring in a contractor with a machine that breaks up the ground and has a flame generator behind it to burn the grass and the seeds, then till the soil again and run across it from a perpendicular path? We do that with bahia grass which will sprout between an 8:bed of recycled roadbed concrete. That's the only way I've found to kill off acres of it at a time. Even when deep tilling and cultivating then planting a hybrid haay seed, or sprigging it, the bahia finds a way to come back. Haven't seen that happen after the till and power flame approach, which is not the same as simply burning the field.
Looks like you could use the Avant along with everything else. All useful units.
Mike,
Very nice video editing job. Really like the cab insert sync'd with the outside wide view.
All the best!
Good Morning Morgans!! Have a great weekend
Great video Mike. Keep them coming.
I've read if you mow the stilt grass before it gets to its seed stage and keep it mowed down it can help.
Thank you for another video.
Happy Mother’s Day to All of the Morgan moms, love your show and have a very blessed weekend, God bless your family Mike!! 😃😃🌷🌷🌺👋🏽👋🏽👍👍🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
You can get that same 360 attachment for your mini-X
Hey Mike, there's a gardening maxim thus: 1 years seeding equals 7 years weeding! I always try to deal to weeds before they seed.
looking good love a good fire also get err done
Nice arsenal of equipment.
Thank you for the video
Excellent mike cheers 🥂 😊
Mike if you grabbed the brush in far enough, you could pick it up and rest the ends under the saw tooth edge & pick the whole pile up to clear the end of the load. Sorry, just my observation from when the tree crews hauled the tops from our trees that we had taken down. Love your videos & enjoy how hard you work. I also like your new rental machine. Have a great day.
Great video Thanks😎
I agree about running out of fuel when trying to burn stumps. I have the same problem. I have 20 or 30 stumps left over from my clearing project but no fuel left.
I’m not sure what to do with the stumps now.
If I had the money I would buy one of those units they bring yes or very good very good very strong machines
I always get so nervous about burning but once I finish with the big stuff, I’m going to get some help and do it.
They claim you can’t be too thin or have too much money. Suppose the same can be said about having too many firewood poles. What’s up with the one log Bill off loaded on the far side of the truck?
Another great video. Wow that Avant really is worth it’s weight in gold. You’re right about about wood heat. There is nothing like it! Wishing Melissa a Happy Mother’s Day. Mike you guys have a good one!👍❤️
hi there good show .nice load of logs . best to all john
Looking good 👍🏻.
👍👍👍👍👍👌Wow lots of great clean up and many topics discussed very productive!!!
Wish they would start on the cabin
Big fan and determined I like listening to you talk while working vs music. Hope to hear more except while you're on the road.
Hey Mike, we have the stilt grass down here in Southern WV too. It and the autumn olive it just takes over. I think its worse than bamboo, atleast bamboo you can use the poles for other things
I’ve harvested for Ernst before. It was a rather lucrative kid job for sure.
Good Saturday morning Mike, Melissa and family. Clearing up for a day, before more rain moves in for the week here in SE PA. Hope you have a wonderful weekend, and happy early Mother’s Day Melissa!

Good morning!
I purchased simply safe because of the Morgans
Hi Mike. Great job on the road & brush pile. I ❤ your skid loader. I completely understand about it's tracks. The skid loader is a " beast." The Avant struggled in the top soil pile. Skid loader performed great. If you can get the power of the skid loader on wheel. It will be perfect! Just saying. Happy Mother's Day to Melissa, Hannah, & Kate. 💐💐💐 Say Hi to Melissa, Eva, & Hunter. 😍😊😉👍❤️💜🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I like the split screen. Great video. (As usual) cheers Steve Australia 🇦🇺
Keep up the good work mike 👏
absolutely love the Avant
Mike, Thank you for the entertaining video from today's work activities. With the combination of the excavator and the Avant, You were able to accomplish an amazing amount of cleaning up the logs and sorting out the junk wood for the fire. Your buddy Bill sure is a slick operator unloading the fire wood logs. I'm so pleased to see you taking the time out of your busy work schedule to take Hunter to to the Sheets Location. Have a Great Day !!! Make Sure that You Make Mother's Day Special for Melissa
Your video the other day "Selling Everything" I thought was going to be about you selling the skidsteer and tractor because you decided that the Avant was so good you couldn't live without it. 😁
You have mirrors on it but there now adjust
That Avant is a beast!
Mike, you sure did have a lot going on for the day in this video looking 👀 great 👍 😮😊❤
Mike. That claw really picks up a nice size log. 👍 beats a set of forks for sure.
Hope you were able to enjoy the aurora borealis last night. We could see them in western North Carolina, they were beautiful. Us Gen X’ers grew up, playing with the Tinker Toys…and Erector Sets. You’re getting to do that on a large scale daily, which is so fun! Happy Mother’s Day to Melissa!
The minute I seen it I knew you had a larger grapple and it works great!. We've had so much rain I can't get any logs out, we got hammered again today!. You are making quick work cleaning up brush and logs on your new road with the Avant.
Good Job, busy day time goes fast, I agree Get the wood from Adler & Sons while they have it.
I have been doing beech wood for fire wood i never hear you mention that wood makes great firewood as good as oak
Howdy wouldn’t be better for the environment not to burn but to use a chipper and dispose the chips back into the woods or use them for fire starter. You said you like running machines you could even sell wood chips for gardening or by the bag?
Man that is a cool machine
Great video!
NICE RIG!
The invasive stuff like you have is starting to back off here. It was really bad. the new clearing at the range sofar has been free of it. i planted a mixed grass and lots and lots of clover types. I spoke with a local dealer about the 180 like what you have.. they are ordering in the hydrolic block that converts to skid steer attachments. so hopefull before to long I'll have one one the farm to test out.. It will be nice to have up at the mill. we have several other projects as well. buying the farm behind us this fall. so trails and new food plots will be on the agenda for sure.
Great video today Mike. The interaction with Eva made me laugh. So typical with the young. They need everything to happen right now. I love the way you build a fire.
Hello Morgan’s! I just have to say, I did receive your coffee cup - beautiful KUBOTA orange 🍊yes, in all honesty, I do prefer I slightly larger mug and would pay more if option were available. However, my note tonight is slightly nerdy, soundtrack nerdy. Probably Melissa’s area of responsibility (AOR). I absolutely Love the soundtrack selection for this video 🎶 😊 The oboe is perfecto. Melissa’s creativity is so fun as Mike hoists rounds and logs from his trail. Made my day. I wish I were that creative. 🎶☺️😊
Ha 11:31 ppy Mother's Day to all the Morgan Moms, love you guys
You got an incredible amount of work done on this video, Mike. It’s a pleasure to watch you operate machinery - - it’s like the machine is just an extension of your hands. This is very unlike watching Nathan from “Out of the Woods” ! I love Nathan in his videos, but watching him operate machinery is painful. He’s an expert at running his sawmill, but needs much practice with the rest of his machinery. Thank you for your great videos. God bless you.
Mike, I have to tell you about something that happened yesterday. This in regards to the Simply Safe System. I woke up about 3:30 am and realized that the power was out. I thought a storm or other occurrence had caused it and the power company would take care of it. I went back to sleep. Little did I know I was the victim of an attempted burglary. These brainiac's had removed my power meter from the side of my house and thrown it on the ground!! Then proceeded to cut the padlock to my shop and raised the garage door. The battery backup took care of the motion sensors and the siren and I guess they left. Nothing was missing and I figure Simply safe saved me 10 to 20 thousand dollars!!!! Thanks Simply Safe!!!!!!!
Wow! Close one
Once you get clover established, you can keep it mowed down and it will eventually overtake over most other plants. I'll have to look up the stilt grass.
Loving the Avant do some work
Good morning everyone!! Yukon has crossed the 🌈 bridge. Thanks for all the kind & thoughtful comments. Y’all are phenomenal.
Mike how long before you own a avant- machine 😂. It sure makes fast work. Glad to see the amount of progress you’re making. Looking forward to seeing what the twist is tomorrow.
Until then…
Have a day!
HELLOOOO Hunter 😊
Ahh sorry for your loss Jack,
On that sketchy oak, I've seen a couple of good comments on it here, can I add that a line in the tree and a pull from a safe distance would work well. I've had great luck with using lines. The excavator could certainly be used in conjunction with a line to hold it until you can get out from underneath to a safe place from which to pull. Never underestimate a mature tree's ability to find something to drop on you.
