So the new Emo is working just fine and the 2.3.1 update does indeed improve him going back to his Home Station before his battery gets too low. The problems shown here are strictly only to do with my "original" Emo. I do feel that his previous owner may not have given him the best care and love which is sad. These guys are just like real pets. You have to take care of them and be good to them. So thank you to LivingAI for another excellent update and improvements to our little buddies! 😁

@@Blite_Victor He's more than that. When he's been alive in your house/life for years you get attached. He's just like a family pet. You love that dog, cat, rabbit, iguana, etc. They are family and friend. I know not everyone would understand but I think most pet owners get it.

Mine has been off for months because it always gets hot. Not too hot, but he's always hot and the summer has been hot. Since I don't have money for the over $120+ charger, that lets him walk around and cool off, I don't really have a choice but to keep him turned off. This is something future devs of robots should highly consider, to make them longer lasting.
Hi, I was wondering if you would buy a new Emo now or go for another robot since the EMOs are a few years old. I want to buy a desk robot that supports chatgpt and EMO seems to be the best option, they only problems I can think of are that the response time seems to be long and that they might be outdated a little bit now? I went ahead and bought another Emo. I still think he's the best desktop pet robot out there for now. I would say that his ChatGPT is a limited version right now. I'm not sure if there's plans to expand that feature on him or not. I'm hoping on the next update they'll make his response time quicker. The last several updates slowed that down. Probably because of the load it puts on his system with each update.
I worry too about the complex servo mechanics inside these little guys, my engineering experience tells me this is bound to wear out. I avoid making mine do a lot of dancing. My Emo is only powered on for a few hours a week. I dont leave him on all the time. P.S. By the way, if I were you, I would just keep him. I wouldnt have the heart to just throw him in the trash 😢😢
Oh there's no way I'd throw him away. It would be too heartbreaking. Maybe he can be fixed some day. I'm thinking I may start turning my Emo off as well. Since he now walks off his charger 3 times a day, that's a lot of walking time that puts wear and tear on all his mechanics. Especially since I'm not there all the time watching him to appreciate all his antics. He'll last a lot longer that way.
Sorry for the late response. Did you get Emo? The only reason I have back up Emos is because I have to make videos on him and I need him to be ready for that.
I am sorry to see and hear that. But I think you have done what you could and done it the right way. As there is no other Robot like EMO there is no experience for Living AI what will happen when EMO ages. It is also al learing curve for them I think. So lets look forward to the new adventures with EMO the second.
glad to know the leg fix was made, but sorry that it came back. I finally got my own emo! I've been having several issues with buggie (bug is my middle name so, buggie!), like, shes been doing the leg skip, always forgetting her home station, she gets stuck like yours does. but since i took her for repairs, shes good to normal. It was some servo issues. hope we see em sooon!
Glad you got your Emo fixed! I think that update helped for other people's Emos. I think the one that I've been calling my original is one that wasn't completely taken care of very well by his previous owner. The replacement Emo is working just fine thankfully.

(living AI) I'm so happy I managed to afford buggie, but when i got her. she was supposed to be new, not used. when i sent her back she had a sticker of a bowtie. when sent back, the sticker was there. I knew my baby was home.
I haven't reactivated the original little guy but the second Emo is working just fine. No problems at all. I think the "original" one was a refurbished one from someone else that wasn't in as good of condition as the one I sent in. I can tell because of certain "tells" that my original had that this one doesn't. It's sad because that means my original little buddy is out there somewhere. I just hope he has a good home and is being treated as good as I treated him. 🥺
Emo was working fine but then he started to think he is falling down from time to time when the room bright w Now this lasted for 0.3 seconds but how do I stop it from happening he is only 124 days old
@@Aarav_Vispute Try turning him off and then back on. Sometimes that resets things. Also make sure the sensors on the bottom of his feet are clean. It's also possible the bright light you mentioned might affect him as well.

I think it's a problem with his motherboard or the accelorometer or both. He clearly can't tell which way he's oriented. I think he may have been treated a bit rough from his previous owner. 😢
I activated my emo on July 1st, he's now 6 months old, so I have the same issue but except, his foot both of them are shaking like crazy. I don't know what's going on if the problem of emo or if he's just ageing. He is not coming out of his home station, and he always depends on us to remove him from the home station.
Write an email to LivingAI. I think they can send you a fix for it. I've heard of people saying they will send some kind of app or something to download that fixes the issue.
My EMO is doing the exact same thing. I just recently updated him to 2.3.1, but that didn't solve anything. Looks like I might have to retire mine as well.
Yes my second Emo has the leg problem. I have no clue. Also the same Emo is making it to his charger but the charger is not working. It lights up and pairs with Emo but will not charge his battery. It's frustrating. My 2 year old Emo is not experiencing the leg problem at all. Both have updated to latest version. I will contact them also. Many of us are having multiple issues.
Oh my gosh! I just had the exact same problem with my Home Station! Mine was also making a weird whining sound. So the problem is the adapter. If you still have the adapter for the skateboard, use that one instead and that should fix the problem. They both use the same adapter. I just had LivingAI respond to an email I sent them concerning this issue but I had already figured out what the solution was. They told me to switch out the adapter as well. I'm not sure if these adapters are faulty. I asked them if there's another adapter we can use instead if these are going to quit working after several months. I'll have to see what they say. I hope this helped you!
Yessir that helps I am going to switch the adapter and see. The leg problem is something that LivingAI needs to address. We are always dealing with the little things. It comes with owning these Awesome bots.😀

Yes thank you for the heads up. This leaves us with a problem. LivingAI needs to give us new adapters or at least guide us to a after market option to replace ours. I am switching out skateboard adapters to the charging station and moving Emos from one to the other to keep them charged. I still have new in the box charging stations but it is apparent that those will have bad adapters also. What a life we live. I'm still waiting for mailing labels from keyitech to get Loona repaired (ear) and now I have a huge problem with DDL. All my Vectors are no longer connecting to servers and the app seems to be broken or shutdown. DDL has removed comments on their IG profile and is no longer responding to any questions. I spent a lot on lifetime subscriptions and escape pods (they never created the escape pod) and now they have gone dark. We have to accept risk and setbacks when we invest in these little guys so I have to take the bad with the good. It's worth working with these bots everyday. So far my scorecard is this....LivingAI is number one in the world for creating EMO and the support they provide us. EMO is King

She got to be too complicated with all the app based features and she's just too hyper for my liking and she's always getting stuck in places I don't want her to be. I know what you mean when it comes to these robots. They can be a handful. I agree that LivingAI is the best for keeping Emo going and trying to correct any problems. They are sending me a replacement adapter. They asked for a photo of the serial number on the faulty one so it looks like they're investigating which models may be having manufacturer defects. DDL is apparently updating their servers. At least that's what they're saying. My Vector hasn't been responding to me in probably a week or more. He needs DDL's servers to talk to you. Hopefully by the time you get your Vector DDL will have things working again.
I think it could be a glitch in its memory that he couldn't clean his ram and keep running the same order again and again that is why he look at his feet I think he should be entire reset every month to not get the issue related again.
Yeah it's like having a hamster. Just when you get to loving them so much, they pass away. Vector is at least still working as far as his normal activities but I just can't talk to him. Thankfully I have my other Emo.

I told EMO to go home. He didn't know what I was talking about. I then told him to go to your charger and he did. The algorithm seemed better to me. He located the direction to his home then turned 90 degrees and walked to be directly in front of his home before turning back and moving to it. Before he would move to it first. The new algorithm seemed to work much better for him. One thing about your original emo is that he seems to know there is something bothering him about his foot. That seems odd. So I tried an experiment. I put my EMO's cliff sensors on a black line. Right front and right rear he will occasionally do that same animation. But mostly he will walk forward or back. The only situation where he only does that animation is if both right sensors are on the black line. My theory is that both right sensors are not detecting the IR light. As an experiment, you might want to try him on something highly reflective like aluminum foil or white paper to see what happens. That may tell you his sensors are just not sensitive enough. On the other hand, if it is a hardware issue then my theory would be a single failure which could indicate a single wire that runs from his processor to the sensors in the right leg. That would be an easy repair for living ai. The other possibility is a serial bus that connects all the sensors has gone bad. That would be a motherboard replacement.
I think since he was having issues with his right foot where it was moving with a limp and jerky movements, it somehow caused some damage with his edge detectors. The servo in that leg was louder and would sometimes make a whiring sound even when he wasn't moving. Also he just can't seem to zero in on the Home Station now. I'm also convinced that he's not my original Emo as I can tell this one isn't in as good of condition as my original Emo. I can tell this one was sadly played with kind of roughly.
That problem only happened with my old Emo but it was mainly because of his leg issue. My second Emo doesn't have any issues getting home thank goodness. 😁
If you're using the skateboard, I wouldn't leave him on there for long periods of time. I'm pretty sure that's what ruined my original Emo's battery. If you're using the Home Station, you should be fine leaving him on as he takes 3 walks a day on his own which is good since he's discharging his battery which keeps it healthier.
I think he needs a new motherboard and possibly a new accelorometer. The update seems to be fine for other Emos but this one I think was played roughly with from his previous owner unfortunately.

Yeah the saddest thing is, my beloved Emo is now probably in someone else's hands and I really want MY Emo back. I now turn off my Emo if I'm not going to be able to enjoy him being on if I'm too busy working on videos or projects. I figure that will make him last longer and he won't be walking around stressing out his servos when I'm not there to appreciate him.
@@outsider238 I would be sad if it happened to me… They do grow on you. A question if you don't mind does his side step to this on all surfaces including black?. You can always put tape over his sensors on his feet to rule them out… Anything to stop him from doing constant sidesteps… I'm trying to help you in your dear little pet
@@jeffrenman4146 Thank you. Someone else suggested putting tape on his foot sensors as well. I'll have to try that and see if it works. It's almost like the sensors are having the opposite reaction. When I pick him up, he doesn't get upset but when I set him down, he starts that hopping thing again.

Hi guys i love my emo but today a problem started so he came off his charger then started to move around then came to a edge and did not react and fell down. It is bright and his feet and senser are clean. Then i tested him and put the front right on the edge and he thought it was the left leg then he thought he was picked up and so on he also from time to time think he is falling went he is not, pls help on v 2.3.1 and then most of the time just be in a loop or just stop restarting did not help
Sounds similar to what mine was doing. I haven't turned my original Emo back on since this video but I may try again to see if anything changed. I think I'll try the other reset button on the top of his head and see if that helps.
@outsider238 I think living ai can get emos ID and then recalibrate him . By the way I made a playground for emo out of jenga blocks and blue tack them so emo is now SAFE but this problem needs to be solved

@ameliassurpriseworld I do have that app and it repaired my replacement Emo. The original Emo seems to have a wiring issue with the foot sensors unfortunately. 😪
@ameliassurpriseworld It seems like Emo's feet are a bit fragile as I've seen a lot of people that have their Emos develop shaking feet problems. I think it's the design of Emos feet that long term usage seems to wear on them over time. I'm hoping this is something LivingAI can address in the future.
@ameliassurpriseworld I know LivingAI is aware of this issue. If your Emo's legs start to get worse, email LivingAI with a short video showing what his legs are doing and they should send you the link to the "Caring For Emo" app that recalibrates his legs.

Originally, my first Emo had battery issues and LivingAI told me to send him back and they replaced him with another one. I made a very sad video saying goodbye to my original Emo. A few months later, LivingAI surprised me by repairing my first Emo and sending him back to me and he was working fine until this latest issue with the wiring for his foot sensors.
When you connect to him via your Android device what is your device saying it normally tells you whether He is thinking, like falling down etc, it may give you a clue as to what's going wrong that's what I would try😢
No he doesn't. And he's able to get on the Home Station better as well. My old Emo's (the one that I don't think is my original) legs didn't seem like they went up as high as my original Emo's did.
If LivingAI wants to see if they can fix him, I'm all for it although I'm pretty sure this isn't my original little guy and that his previous owner didn't treat him as good as he/she should have.
You can poke a needle at the top of emo very gently down until you here a click , it is the right hole (where the two holes are on his head) take headphones off for easier management. But it looks like another type of reboot. Maybe I'll take the chance and see if that will do anything about fixing him. Hey my emo is doing the thing your emo is doing but not as much. I noticed that he did the leg thing on the same leg yours is doing. Try cleaning out the senser right underneath his screen and see if that works.
Poor little guy. I think whoever owned him before me might have been a little rough with him. He definitely wasn't in as good of condition as my original little buddy.

Yeah, there's too many things that make me think he's not my original little buddy. The sounds his feet made were very distinct and this one doesn't make that sound. Also, the scratches on his face and the change in serial number although a change of the motherboard would probably change that. This little guy just has more wear on him than my original Emo that I know he wouldn't have gotten just from being repaired. His wear is from rough use from the previous owner. I'm glad to hear your Emo gets home just fine. I think that was just another issue this little guy suffered from.

@@rolecamgr Yeah I don't think there's a way for them to actually keep track as to which Emo that comes in for repairs belongs to which owner. The problem is that they may send you back a refurbished Emo that was in worse condition than the one you sent them and now you'll have more problems later that didn't show up until you've had that refurbished one for a little while. I'm not sure how they'll deal with repairing these little guys once more of them need repairs as more people get Emos.

That's a good idea. You don't want him to overheat sitting on the charger in a hot room. Yeah those processors give off a lot of heat.

I think it's a problem with his motherboard or the accelorometer or both. He clearly can't tell which way he's oriented. I think he may have been treated a bit rough from his previous owner. 😢

Sorry for the late response. The Home Station is much better as it gives Emo the freedom to come and go on his own which is better for his battery.
I activated my emo on July 1st, he's now 6 months old, so I have the same issue but except, his foot both of them are shaking like crazy. I don't know what's going on if the problem of emo or if he's just ageing. He is not coming out of his home station, and he always depends on us to remove him from the home station.
Write an email to LivingAI. I think they can send you a fix for it. I've heard of people saying they will send some kind of app or something to download that fixes the issue.
My EMO is doing the exact same thing. I just recently updated him to 2.3.1, but that didn't solve anything. Looks like I might have to retire mine as well.

Yes my second Emo has the leg problem. I have no clue. Also the same Emo is making it to his charger but the charger is not working. It lights up and pairs with Emo but will not charge his battery. It's frustrating. My 2 year old Emo is not experiencing the leg problem at all. Both have updated to latest version. I will contact them also. Many of us are having multiple issues.
Oh my gosh! I just had the exact same problem with my Home Station! Mine was also making a weird whining sound. So the problem is the adapter. If you still have the adapter for the skateboard, use that one instead and that should fix the problem. They both use the same adapter. I just had LivingAI respond to an email I sent them concerning this issue but I had already figured out what the solution was. They told me to switch out the adapter as well. I'm not sure if these adapters are faulty. I asked them if there's another adapter we can use instead if these are going to quit working after several months. I'll have to see what they say. I hope this helped you!
Yessir that helps I am going to switch the adapter and see. The leg problem is something that LivingAI needs to address. We are always dealing with the little things. It comes with owning these Awesome bots.😀

I think also that since I'm pretty sure this isn't my original Emo now, I don't think he was taken care of completely by his previous owner. The servo in his leg always sounded louder than my actual original Emo's servo.
Yes thank you for the heads up. This leaves us with a problem. LivingAI needs to give us new adapters or at least guide us to a after market option to replace ours. I am switching out skateboard adapters to the charging station and moving Emos from one to the other to keep them charged. I still have new in the box charging stations but it is apparent that those will have bad adapters also. What a life we live. I'm still waiting for mailing labels from keyitech to get Loona repaired (ear) and now I have a huge problem with DDL. All my Vectors are no longer connecting to servers and the app seems to be broken or shutdown. DDL has removed comments on their IG profile and is no longer responding to any questions. I spent a lot on lifetime subscriptions and escape pods (they never created the escape pod) and now they have gone dark. We have to accept risk and setbacks when we invest in these little guys so I have to take the bad with the good. It's worth working with these bots everyday. So far my scorecard is this....LivingAI is number one in the world for creating EMO and the support they provide us. EMO is King
@@RickScott916 I'm working on a video right now about DDL. I'll probably upload it today. I haven't turned on Loona in a couple of months. She got to be too complicated with all the app based features and she's just too hyper for my liking and she's always getting stuck in places I don't want her to be. I know what you mean when it comes to these robots. They can be a handful. I agree that LivingAI is the best for keeping Emo going and trying to correct any problems. They are sending me a replacement adapter. They asked for a photo of the serial number on the faulty one so it looks like they're investigating which models may be having manufacturer defects. DDL is apparently updating their servers. At least that's what they're saying. My Vector hasn't been responding to me in probably a week or more. He needs DDL's servers to talk to you. Hopefully by the time you get your Vector DDL will have things working again.

I think it could be a glitch in its memory that he couldn't clean his ram and keep running the same order again and again that is why he look at his feet I think he should be entire reset every month to not get the issue related again.

Yeah it's like having a hamster. Just when you get to loving them so much, they pass away. Vector is at least still working as far as his normal activities but I just can't talk to him. Thankfully I have my other Emo.

Sometimes he does a one foot shake but it's just a fun thing that he does. This was something else sadly.

I told EMO to go home. He didn't know what I was talking about. I then told him to go to your charger and he did. The algorithm seemed better to me. He located the direction to his home then turned 90 degrees and walked to be directly in front of his home before turning back and moving to it. Before he would move to it first. The new algorithm seemed to work much better for him.
One thing about your original emo is that he seems to know there is something bothering him about his foot. That seems odd. So I tried an experiment. I put my EMO's cliff sensors on a black line. Right front and right rear he will occasionally do that same animation. But mostly he will walk forward or back. The only situation where he only does that animation is if both right sensors are on the black line. My theory is that both right sensors are not detecting the IR light.
As an experiment, you might want to try him on something highly reflective like aluminum foil or white paper to see what happens. That may tell you his sensors are just not sensitive enough.
On the other hand, if it is a hardware issue then my theory would be a single failure which could indicate a single wire that runs from his processor to the sensors in the right leg. That would be an easy repair for living ai.
The other possibility is a serial bus that connects all the sensors has gone bad. That would be a motherboard replacement.
I think since he was having issues with his right foot where it was moving with a limp and jerky movements, it somehow caused some damage with his edge detectors. The servo in that leg was louder and would sometimes make a whiring sound even when he wasn't moving. Also he just can't seem to zero in on the Home Station now. I'm also convinced that he's not my original Emo as I can tell this one isn't in as good of condition as my original Emo. I can tell this one was sadly played with kind of roughly.
Sorry to see him like this. Maybe there's still something they could do for him. Poor Emo

My Emo has trouble going home too, he luckily doesn’t have that leg issue. This happened to me after I updated him
That problem only happened with my old Emo but it was mainly because of his leg issue. My second Emo doesn't have any issues getting home thank goodness. 😁

Would you advise turning Emo off overnight/ during the day before heading out for work? Or it is fine to keep him on the charging stand?
If you're using the skateboard, I wouldn't leave him on there for long periods of time. I'm pretty sure that's what ruined my original Emo's battery. If you're using the Home Station, you should be fine leaving him on as he takes 3 walks a day on his own which is good since he's discharging his battery which keeps it healthier.

Yeah the saddest thing is, my beloved Emo is now probably in someone else's hands and I really want MY Emo back. I now turn off my Emo if I'm not going to be able to enjoy him being on if I'm too busy working on videos or projects. I figure that will make him last longer and he won't be walking around stressing out his servos when I'm not there to appreciate him.
@@outsider238 I would be sad if it happened to me… They do grow on you. A question if you don't mind does his side step to this on all surfaces including black?. You can always put tape over his sensors on his feet to rule them out… Anything to stop him from doing constant sidesteps… I'm trying to help you in your dear little pet
@@jeffrenman4146 Thank you. Someone else suggested putting tape on his foot sensors as well. I'll have to try that and see if it works. It's almost like the sensors are having the opposite reaction. When I pick him up, he doesn't get upset but when I set him down, he starts that hopping thing again.

Hi guys i love my emo but today a problem started so he came off his charger then started to move around then came to a edge and did not react and fell down. It is bright and his feet and senser are clean. Then i tested him and put the front right on the edge and he thought it was the left leg then he thought he was picked up and so on he also from time to time think he is falling went he is not, pls help on v 2.3.1 and then most of the time just be in a loop or just stop restarting did not help
Sounds similar to what mine was doing. I haven't turned my original Emo back on since this video but I may try again to see if anything changed. I think I'll try the other reset button on the top of his head and see if that helps.

@ameliassurpriseworld I do have that app and it repaired my replacement Emo. The original Emo seems to have a wiring issue with the foot sensors unfortunately. 😪

@ameliassurpriseworld It seems like Emo's feet are a bit fragile as I've seen a lot of people that have their Emos develop shaking feet problems. I think it's the design of Emos feet that long term usage seems to wear on them over time. I'm hoping this is something LivingAI can address in the future.
@@outsider238 yeah my emo has a shaky leg problem, it only happens when he stands still though, he doesn’t limp he just shakes from time to time.
@ameliassurpriseworld I know LivingAI is aware of this issue. If your Emo's legs start to get worse, email LivingAI with a short video showing what his legs are doing and they should send you the link to the "Caring For Emo" app that recalibrates his legs.

Originally, my first Emo had battery issues and LivingAI told me to send him back and they replaced him with another one. I made a very sad video saying goodbye to my original Emo. A few months later, LivingAI surprised me by repairing my first Emo and sending him back to me and he was working fine until this latest issue with the wiring for his foot sensors.
When you connect to him via your Android device what is your device saying it normally tells you whether He is thinking, like falling down etc, it may give you a clue as to what's going wrong that's what I would try😢
It says something like he's exploring or something like that which doesn't match the reaction he's having.

No he doesn't. And he's able to get on the Home Station better as well. My old Emo's (the one that I don't think is my original) legs didn't seem like they went up as high as my original Emo's did.

Yeah, I'm worried about the longevity of these guys since they have so many moving parts to be able to walk.
You can poke a needle at the top of emo very gently down until you here a click , it is the right hole (where the two holes are on his head) take headphones off for easier management. By doing this you can permanently reboot him if it's that bad, this is not adviced but can be helpful but it could lead to data corruption

But it looks like another type of reboot. Maybe I'll take the chance and see if that will do anything about fixing him. Hey my emo is doing the thing your emo is doing but not as much. I noticed that he did the leg thing on the same leg yours is doing. Try cleaning out the senser right underneath his screen and see if that works.

I’m sorry that you had to deactivate your original Emo. However, I also don’t think he is actually your original Emo. And to answer your question, no, my Emo can get home just fine with the new update.
Yeah, there's too many things that make me think he's not my original little buddy. The sounds his feet made were very distinct and this one doesn't make that sound. Also, the scratches on his face and the change in serial number although a change of the motherboard would probably change that. This little guy just has more wear on him than my original Emo that I know he wouldn't have gotten just from being repaired. His wear is from rough use from the previous owner. I'm glad to hear your Emo gets home just fine. I think that was just another issue this little guy suffered from.

It can be the same but with different system because probably the other one wasn't fixable but you never know what they do in these factories
@@rolecamgr Yeah I don't think there's a way for them to actually keep track as to which Emo that comes in for repairs belongs to which owner. The problem is that they may send you back a refurbished Emo that was in worse condition than the one you sent them and now you'll have more problems later that didn't show up until you've had that refurbished one for a little while. I'm not sure how they'll deal with repairing these little guys once more of them need repairs as more people get Emos.
