Definitely one of those "In the meantime, back in the real world" moments.
I find it difficult to have much sympathy for either mega-rich party. I suspect both are being run by incompetents (the ocean is pretty damn big, you sure there isn't enough room for both monstrosities to fit somehow?) This will go to insurance to sort out who fixes the scratch marks (probably each party has to fix their own scratch mark).
Sympathy did not even cross my mind at this point .
With all these mega yacht issues I think imma just stay safe at home in Kentucky. My kayak doesn’t have lights I might get rund over. Can’t even pay my bills and I’m watching super yacht news. Good channel.

1:52 For the stern of Lady Moura to hit the bow of Venus they must have been moored VERY close together. In this illustration each vessel is moored so that the swing arc of the stern of each will miss the swing arc of the stern of neighbouring ship(s). The anchoring point of each ship (centre of the circle) will never be within any area of the circle of swing of another ship. This means that the edges of those circles never meet, but even if they were closely misjudged with some overlap - one ship simply anchoring too closely to another - only the sterns will swing towards each other for a potential collision in that small overlap. This also means that a collision would only be possible port-to-port or starboard-to-starboard. The strike of Lady Moura’s port stern against Venus’s starboard bow means that Venus’s anchor was dropped well within the swing arc/circle of Lady Moura’s anchorage. That’s not just ‘closely misjudged’, that’s negligent and virtually guarantees a collision. Venus is entirely at fault for creating the conditions for collision in this unusual manner.
Who are you? A lawyer for Lady Moura? "Sterns swinging toward each other????" That's not likely in real life. Boats tend to line up with the current or wind.
In reality it's virtually impossible to know how much anchor rode is deployed on another ship (you can't tell by looking and you don't know where the anchor even is or how deep it is and how much rode is laid out) It takes cooperation and respect for other boaters.
Moura could have laid out more anchor AFTER Venus anchored for example.
Unfortunately some people can't play nice together.
In your interpretation, what stops someone from laying 1/2 mile of anchor and claiming an enormous circle and the entire anchorage for themselves?
In their own statement they laid "7 "shackles" of chain"...Well assuming 90 feet per 'shackle" that could mean 630 feet of anchor so they are claiming a cirlce of diameter 1260 feet(nearly 1/4 mile) of harbor. That's a pretty big circle.
it's far from obvious who is completely "at fault" here. I'm not saying Lady Venus is innocent. Perhaps they did anchor too close and had too little rode, or perhaps Lady Moura had way too much rode or maybe they dragged and lied about it.
My guess is that it's more likely to be a misunderstanding and misjudgment rather that outright obvious negligence, but I wasn't there, and likely neither were you.
This makes no sense. A circle cannot intersect another circle without the 2nd circle intersecting the first circle. They are mutually intersecting. Without knowing who anchored last it's impossible to know who's at fault.
Although, this new footage seems to show Moura's engines running which suggests Moura has either just anchored, or was in the process of leaving the anchorage.
Also, a collision will never happen in the way you describe while at anchor, as both yacht's bows always point into the wind, meaning they will never collide port to port or starboard to starboard.
Why didnt they deploy some bumpers?
It was totally obvious from the first video that Venus was stationary with tension on it's anchor chain due to the wind pulling it away from the Moura.

Venus was fixed through an automatic Apple update. Followed by another update to repair the previous update.
In the last video I commented that it looked like Venus had her bow to the wind, making it look like Moura was the boat adrift. Boats at anchor almost always have their bow to the wind unless there's a strong current. Boats adrift are often blown perpendicular to the wind as Moura seems to have been.
These are called yacht fights. Expensive!
Any damage to Venus could only improve the looks of that yacht. 🤔

Lady crew was on the bridge and reacted to the situation . How about Venus crew ? Were they busy with something ?
My first question and I’m by no means an expert but the boat moving into the other boat might just might have done better if it’s front anchor was actually in the water instead of fully out of the water. I know from my personal experiences that when I have my anchor actually set my boat moves a whole lot less. Now granted my boat would most likely be smaller than any tender in either of those ships but I think the principle still is valid if the anchor isn’t used it can’t help you
I’m worried now. There must be a multi angled video out there of me hitting a Clio in the car park yesterday. I only applied 4 notches on the hand brake. Clearly the weather required at least 7 notches. Oh well.

One question and One comment: What's the difference between a megayacht and a superyacht? That looked much more like a boop than a collision.

Yeah, how could the second vessel know how much rode the first had deployed? It should be 7 to 1, still it would seem the Lady Moura had some responsibility to tell Venus or move further away.

Someone had one job & My query is, the ocean is such a huge open space, & if they are stopped / anchored, how comes the Lady Moura yachts stack plumes out a lot of dark smoke, as im sure an anchor cannot be raised that fast to avoid the crash As Venus got close / collided with Moura? I mean I’ve seen so many films which can’t all be lying, by seeing other vessels etc on a screen like an aircraft monitor showing where other things are within a specific area of each other?,

Unreal how these million dollar ships, with million dollar captains, could not figure out their anchor rode scope to avoid this, which it's something learned in the first few lessons of seamanship.

Down to captain and crew, Don't see things like this from the Motor Yacht Loon here on youtube, captain is always alert and always somone on lookout especially in high winds, shows lack of safty proticals or lack of abiding to those proticals, but a captain controls and leads there crew and has to take responsibility.

Dumb question, why didn't the vessel move under its own power?
Ships can take a long time to rev up engines. They may need to start a starting engine which starts the main engine. One thing that might have been possible is the ship ahead could take up some anchor line and reduce its scope. Maybe hard to do in a storm.
