- As the epidemic of gun violence continues to sweep the nation, threatening our schools, public spaces, & houses of worship, many Americans sadly live in fear that they or their loved ones may fall victim to the next, inevitable mass shooting. The debate over the 2nd Amendment & gun control is fierce, with Constitutionalists & reformers locked in a stalemate over how to keep their constituents safe, while those very same constituents continue to pay the ultimate price.
One of the many groups that has seen disproportionate violence & hate levied against them recently is the Jewish community. Whether it manifests as a hostage situation, as we saw in a Texas synagogue in early 2022, or tragically, as a mass casualty event like the Tree of Life synagogue shooting in Pittsburgh, the constant threat of violence is coming to a head. Enter Rabbi Raziel Cohen, a Hasidic Jew who has made it his life's mission to make sure that both his neighbors & his own community have the tools & knowledge to defend themselves if the worst were to happen. Despite the controversy surrounding his stance on expressing the Constitution's 2nd Amendment right at places of worship -- from both skeptical, religious Jews & gun control activists alike -- clergy & laymen from all faiths have flocked to his active shooter courses & requested his security consultation services. For better or for worse, Rabbi Cohen has made a name for himself as The Tactical Rabbi. This is his story.

I love that they said it’s not “thou shall not kill” it’s “thou shall not murder”
That's because there is a justified taking of human life, and an unjust taking of human life. Justified (as delineated by the Torah and HaShem) is death that occurs in war, self defense, and capital punishment, (maybe one or two more: can't remember). Anything else is unjustified, and is considered murder by HaShem.

I love it!
The recent spike in gun ownership by Black Americans, Jewish Americans, Muslim Americans and other minority groups is indicative of a general loss if trust and or confidence by the people in the intent and ability of the State to protect them.
That is the fundamental issue. While it is perhaps a wise tactical decision to arm yourself to protect your community, it does not address the underlying issues;
A demographic shift of the USA to a majority-minority society, fanning fears by the white majority of a 'loss of control', leading to radicalization and more right wing politics, cascading into white-nationalist extremism & violence against minorities, pushing them to arm them selves and fight 'fire with fire' and it snowballs from their. Throw in large (and growing) cultural divides and we have a nation consuming itself from the inside out.
Unless America can find a way to navigate these ethno-cultural changes (as it has done before) it will not survive. And no amount of guns will be able to save anyone.
This land will never be safe for us black people the only solution is to arm ourselves get reparations and repatriate back to Africa
The Black Americans are the real Jews or should I say Hebrew Israelites. Our identity been stolen we are the people of the book. Everybody know it they are either in denial or flat out lying. You can trace our roots to all the Igbo, Lemba, Yoruba, and Asante tribes in West Africa. Their roots is Ashkenazi, Kazarian, Germanic in the Russian area. This is all facts it's not up for debate.
It will never happen. Cultures were never meant to mix to the extent they have in america. Imo, its not sustainable.
@@Enough_Tumbleweed I beg to differ. It can happen but there is need for a concerted Nation Building [re-building 🤔?] project. Defining new national values, symbols, norms and culture. Compromise has to be something everyone is willing to do. For starters Americans need to ask themselves what it means to be American in the 21st Century (18th century definitions won't cut it anymore)
@@kalomboC so asking people to forget who they are while completely embracing who someone else is? That just sounds crazy to me and will never work. I for one will never conform to what someone else's definition of an American is for me. Not saying thats what you were implying, but just in general. There is no way to instill new values, symbols, and culture in America if it is to remain free. Whatever group gets to decide what values, symbols, and culture is going to have to force people to conform to their thinking. Do you believe that isnt going to spark more hatred to whatever said group? I can think of a few instances today that are driving people to act out racially, it would only get worse.
I am also failing to understand what you mean by being an American in the 21st century and not the 18th century. Because imo, there are a few ways 18th century Americans were better than 21st century americans. In some ways no, but not every aspect of the 21st century American is better than an 18th century american. And compromise has subjective definitions too. Some people give up nothing, some people give up a little, and some give up everything. Its never an equal "compromise".

In fact the first president of Israel Chaim Weizmann said: “ I hear a nation of a million presidents. “ we see this throughout the Bible to. All Jews will talk and definitely have ideas about helping the world, this is something I have encountered with Jews of all backgrounds and walks of life, now it differs when it comes to how this is done. For religious Jews we believe God gave His Torah ( instructions from Heaven ) of how to live pleasing to Him, and with this which all comes down to the 10 Commandments, which is summed into 2 Love God with all your heart, soul and mind, and to love our neighbor as ourself . This is crucial for civilization, healing, growth and restoration. Where we struggle with this we can ask God for help. And with Gods commandments religious Jews see this as the way to help repair and shine light in the world, we see a positive commandment being fulfilled which we call a Mitzvah as shinning Gods light, and anyone can know God and do this. Religious Jews tend to be pro guns in America and Israel. It is considered a Mitzvah to save life, for it is loving to safe love to God and our neighbors.
I have met a Jew who believes in Yeshua “ Hebrew for Jesus “ as the Messiah, he made a video about owning and using guns which is interesting. I’ll post the link below, shalom :

Weapons + Religion.... Always a great mix.
Weapons and judiasm is always a great mix... For them. Because they never pay for it and they ultimately are never the ones who end up using it

It all comes down to intent. If you are attacking then it's obviously wrong. If your policy is self defense and the defence of your community then you would feel very differently.
@@YochevedDesigns So, by that logic, it would be wrong to bulldoze homes a certain group of people have lived in for years to make room for the construction of an illegal settlement for your own group?
I feel like with the way things are going it won’t be Koreans outside of their stores with guns like in 1992 but it will be religious leaders instead
So we went from roof koreans to roof rabbis?
The world would be a lot better with a good ole fashioned cleansing of all religious leaders, considering it’s religion itself that’s the disease plaguing this world.
Just following the golden rule, "do unto others before they do to you "
Very nice
