  • Today I will be going over all the games I played in 2023. I joined steam in February of 2023, so that’s where we will start in the timeline. On top of providing the price with every game I play, I will also tell you what month I started playing it. At the end of the video, I will mention 4 games that I started playing, but for such little time that I cannot properly review it yet, and I do wish to come back to those games in the future.

Rain world is also my favourite game of all time, by a long shot. I can’t see how anything else can come close to catch the magic of that game.

A very good list of games, I do hope you enjoyed them!
And on a side note, Don't Starve can put you off for a while after losing the entire progress, but the game itself has a lot to offer. It's alright to take a break after a few deaths, but never give up trying to find new ways to survive. You can piece together the knowledge that you gather between worlds.

This year thus far ive played a ton of indie/rogue like games and its been really cool to expand the horizon since the triple A experience has been a little 'copy and paste' lately, its cool to delve into new things and now ive become a fan of some new franchises, got to expand and add to the library

    • @GhostGirl.Gaming
      @GhostGirl.Gaming  23 дня назад +2

@@phantomsidious2934 Yeah I definitely feel you with that one, it's been very nice to see what the indie field is doing. I have played a few triple A games but I can count them on two hands. I'd rather get a bunch of indie games than the same thing but with a different title from the triple A field for even more money than the indies.

@@GhostGirl.Gaming plus it costs less to buy an original indie game and get a ton of hours out of it then spending 60+ on boring empty open worlds and gameplay we've seen hundreds of times. Don't get me wrong there are some quality triple a games it's just that lately been feeling a bit bored with them

If it's alright to ask, have the following games been on your radar?
The likes of No Straight Roads, Clash: Artifacts of Chaos, Deathbulge: Battle of the Bands, Cookie Cutter, Blud, Zet Zillions, Soulstice, Immortal: And the Death that Follows, Tiny Terry's Turbo Trip, Ruffy and the Riverside, Bad Boro, Resistor, Pipistrello and the Cursed Yoyo, Harold Halibut, The Mermaid Mask, The Dungeon Experience, Gori: Cuddly Carnage, Loco Motive, Genokids and Yasuke: A Lost Descendant and whatever Moonhood Studio (reformed from Zoink! which made stuff like Lost in Random and Stick It To The Man) and Amanita Design (Samorost, Machinarium, Happy Game) are cooking up.

@@GhostGirl.Gaming Thank you for the reply in turn, and I'm glad that you're interested enough in them. A number of them have yet to release. Some personal favourites among these are Clash: Artifacts of Chaos, Cookie Cutter, Soulstice, Blud, Zet Zillions and No Straight Roads.
To give some more info on them:
      - Fair warning that Cookie Cutter is quite out-there, brutal and provocative. To the point people have dropped it for the design of the main character alone. Sometimes I got put off by certain things, but in the end I'm very glad I stuck with it. And it's not over yet, either.
CC's very much a passion project of the lead dev and there is a full story he wants to tell, despite budget having limited the scope. Not really here to reinvent the wheel but to make a world inspired by his experiences and tastes in media through the years.
Dude went through over a 100 interviews with different publishers before he found one that was comfortable with letting the devs develop the game and not pushing their own influence.
He recently confirmed work on future updates/DLC can continue and there's much he wants to add, from significant story beats to characters to bosses to a battle arena and more.
      - Clash: AoC is a prequel to the Zeno Clash games by ACE Team. Colorful world full of freaks and monsters with exploring and beat-em-up gameplay. There's nothing quite like it out there.
Solid gameplay, super strong art direction, atmosphere, music and very good story and voice acting. Worst that can be said is that you can get lost or disoriented at times.
There's also a central mechanic where you can challenge sapient enemies to a dice game and the winner gets to enforce a condition, like setting up an arena and the first to get knocked out has to take a free hit, drinking poison, or even becoming a summon to help in a later fight. It's a central part of the lore, but nigh completely optional if you don't want to bother.
      - Soulstice is a game in the vein of DMC and Darksiders and admittedly has quite rough spots, like levels dragging on, a handful of annoying enemy types and a divisive central mechanic. But it does have a lot to offer on the front of gameplay, story and characters. One of my favourites in the genre. And that genre doesn't really get catered to much at this point in time, so Soulstice was a very pleasant surprise.
      - No Straight Roads is a short and very sweet game. Hack-and-slash boss-centric game where bosses' attacks are tieds to different rhythms and instruments of their boss tracks. Game's all about music, not just in gameplay but in themes. Good story, fun characters and for some a better story than a game, but nonetheless worth looking up.
Big comment of mine, but thank you if you read through it all and I hope I have raised your interest further.

@@jurtheorc8117 thank you for your long comment! You've definitely peaked my interest for a couple of these. I'm going to at the very least wishlist them since I'm not sure when my budget allows me to buy more games ^-^
