So we have established that either everything sounds better in the minor key or I'm clinically depressed.
Cool thing I’ve learned as being a music performance major in college is that we all love things in asymmetric meters and minor keys. I’m guessing it’s because we’re so used to hearing things in major keys that change sounds cool.

that depends on what chord progression you are playing over because every breath you take is in A major or F# minor it's the same key
look up a "circle of fifths" diagram. it will explain the relationship between the relative minor/major scales and why/where their respective sharps and flats lie as well as showing you that each note in the scale has a corresponding interval (major first, minor second, minor third, major fourth, major dominant fifth, minor seventh flat five or the seventh root note in the scale then the octave of the first)

PapunaOfficial november rain becomes minor in the second half. So this is why the music is so happy and full of hope in the first part (because is major at that point) and then becomes so sad and depressing (actually when i was a kid, i used to dislike this music because of the sadness lol)

The lyrics are explicitly about wanting someone to "go ahead and jump" to save yourself some time. I believe the original intention was that it was from a skyscraper, and the character of the story was so happy with his own life that he didn't notice the man trying to commit suicide, but the theme is definitely there.
