what a gorgeous ship
I get goosebumps looking at her ,what a beautiful warship!
Absolutely amazing work! You are allowing people who have never seen a battleship the ability to see one and understand the incredible power of one of these monsters.
Really incredible!! It would be awesome to compare side by side the Bismarck to the uss Missouri or other battleships in a video, always wanted to see them side by side
These animations are fantastic
Got the book,truly fantastic,its a must for any ww2 naval enthusiast !
This is an incredible book. I am making heavy use of it as I build my 4 foot long version of the Bismarck 1/200 trumpeter.
Stefan thank you for this model . I left a comment with your Tirpitz model suggesting to put Crew member models on board as well . Please refer to that You tube site - for the reason why I feel it would help what you are trying to get across , hey ! / Model maker - Kenneth in NZ .
I highly recommend the book. Tons of details.
What book?recommendations?
Absolutely perfect modeling and so much inspiration for 3D fellows like me.
Just ordered the book. I plan on using as reference on my 1/200 scale build.
She’s absolutely breathtaking with all the details! Deutsche Qualität!
He. The Bismarck was a He.
@@erichvonmanstein6876 Only Hitler and the captain referred to the ship as a “He”. However I and a lot of other people like to go with the traditional way and refer the ship as “She”. It just sounds better like something you want to care for like a girlfriend for example.
@@stevenmoore4612 no, it doesn't . And obviously they were not the ONLY one who refer to the ship as He. Alot of Germans refer to the Bismarck as He, myself included.
To each thy own I suppose.
@@stevenmoore4612 Also, my woman takes care of herself, albeit that's a whole other can of worms.
He. The Bismarck was a He.
A beautiful battle ship.
built for an ugly regime
@@briandavion Her captain and most of the crew were not Nazis
@@abbabubba irrelevant to my statement, it was simply a beautiful ship, built for an ugly regime.
Beautiful work.
I got the book (and others from Stefan Draminski) : top!!!
I recommend it to understand all the inside arrangement of the ship between many interesting things
Great work. thanks
Just like an Audi RS4 avant, it’s beautiful, don’t know why ...... it just is !!
Truly superb. She was a "beautiful" ship. How far off are we from guided tours I wonder.

@@Sam-Pound I stand corrected!

Stunning!
She lasted nearly 12 hours fighting the British Royal Navy. To me, that’s insane.
bismark may have had only one kill, but damn was that kill perfect
Can you make the Italian ship Roma ?
Stunning video
beautiful images
Amazing detail
Stunning work!
Awesome! It gave me the impression to be on board!
What a creature, peak of German engineering & design
I have this book. Excellent
Absolutely astonishing great work as always!! Can I suggest cruiser Averof the last protected cruiser that still exists.

BEAUTIFUL
I read a story that the captain, even after she was surrounded and damaged beyond a threat never raised her surrender flag. the barrage continued for over an hr until she sank. The officers and command wanted to go down but to take the entire crew was not necessary.
Hi William, from various books, accounts etc, contrary to what they show in the movie, Lutyens was not the fanatic Nazi, it was Lindemann who towed the party line. Whilst I have sympathy for all those who lost their lives during that chase, I have always felt sorry for the prize crews (last time seen alive were all sitting in a room that was hit by a large calibre shell). There were life boats on board, a message to the British and fitting a white flag to the boat may have saved them even though they would have been prisoners. I’ve also always had sympathy for the aircrew who were given a ‘reprieve’ when told to take the ships log and photographs to Brest. Sitting in the plane, engine gunning, waiting for launch only to find out that a splinter hitting the hydraulics had made the catapults inoperable.
Superb!
Great job

Woo ! Congratulations
A beast that has been wounded for days attempting to return for repairs without escorts, he may be damaged severely many times by torpedoes and shells, but he remained combat capable...
His fate was sealed only by a broken rudder, but still fought to the last shell
Take that Yamato
it dident fight to the last shell they couldent fight at that point and just dident surrender
U call her a "he" but i call her a "she" and no one can stop that
@@madhie-kun8614 Let me guess, she's your waifu
@@madhie-kun8614 Do i need to explain another stupid idiot that Bismarck was referred to as a HE as an Order by Hitler and Dönitz? Jeez, so many people are just stupid
Bismarck's captain (Lindermann) referred to the ship as a He.
Awesome, love all your ship models fella. One bit of crit that might help is the cloth cover that attaches from the turret to the barrel looks far too thin, if your using Marvelous try upping your thickness and choosing a preset more like leather or thick canvas and it should help you get a higher level of realism .
battleships Richelieu please
Why were the tops of the turrets painted yellow? I’m about to start on a model of this ship and I really appreciate the video for reference.
Piękna praca.
Well done.
I see your books in the naval magazines, I keep intending to buy them all but alas, my wallet gets in the way.
Get a job
The quality of the model is... INSANE ! But I'd try to light it with an HDRI if I were you
A question. In the book Stefan shows the Bismarck on 27 May 1941 with aircraft recognition markings on the decks restored in full colour. Given the weather that week, the damage sustained causing Bismarck to be down by the bow in rough seas and the harassment during the night of 26th by Vians destroyers I find it hard to believe that a priority or even a possibility to repaint the aircraft recognition markings in red, white and black. If you look at photos taken by Ballards expedition to the wreck showing the stern, the background colour suggests grey (although 70 odd years submerged in complete darkness at several thousand meters may have some effect ). Any suggestions, advice or guidance please.

See the forecastle photos taken by David Mearn's expedition. The red, white and black are quite clear

STAT OF ART SHIP
Bismarck was not referred to as she or her but was called he and him.
will you do Bismark and Yamato books a kindle version? I have seen only Iowa and Scharnhorst (2021)
Really nice animation, what was the song used?
Kinda nippicking, but there is no record that the roofs of Bismarck' main and secondary armament turrets were painted yellow. They were all dark grey.
Also, with Baltic Fleet markings... Were the radar domes really positioned like this for the painting? I think they were more likely facing forward and backwards respectively.
There is a good record of Bismarck main and secondary artillery turret tops being yellow, as well as barrel endings of turrets B and C. This was the case in early May 1941. When Bismarck was deployed to the Atlantic, the turrets were already changed to dark grey. Turret tops of main artillery only were painted again in yellow at the time of the sinking.
The rangefinder & radar cupolas were really trained to starboard when the Baltic scheme was applied. It's very easy to check with photos, this feature is visible really well...
@@kapitanpi88 I disagree. Can you provide that information regarding the yellow painted turrets?. As I mentioned in a previous post, even if the order of painting them yellow was true, by then the baltic dazzle camouflage was gone. Don't get me wrong, your model is astonishing, but the paint scheme does not seem correct.
Now, if I could be allowed to put my 3D goggles on and be allowed to enter the ship and also experience a simulation of its last battle ..... I hope I am not asking for too much.
what a ship
Hey what's that at 1:36
That's Bismarck's Radar and range finders.
Good ship tho ngl
I'll buy this model from you so I could print it. Is that an option?
Does anyone have idea why the top of its long-distance guns have yellow color ? Isn't it make the ship more easy to be found from the sky ?
That was exactly the idea. When they got close enough to France, the luftwaffe could indentify it as friendly and provide support. I might be wrong tho, but i think i read this somewhere.
Just wonder... where did you find the reference images and how long it takes to make this ?

can you please Do Schranhorst? PRETTY PLEASE!?
What was the music? I can still hear it echoing in my head...
Mon paradis (Bertysolo & Silent Partner). Only problem is I couldn't find an instrumental only for that song but it's the piano.
First, I love your Model and your detailing, but there are some inaccuracies... Like yellow turret tops with the Baltic camoflauge.... It's also not sure if the turret tops were really painted yellow, it's assumed the main battery was but the paint didn't stick to the secondaries!
The model depicts Bismarck as she looked in early May 1941, during Hitler's visit to the battleship. At this time she was wearing the Baltic camouflage, and she also had her main and secondary turret tops painted yellow.
@@kapitanpi88 hm as far as I Know Bismarck had her turret tops painted with a darker Grey, for aerial recognition the swastikas were painted on!
Please 3d print this models

Can you tell me where you get the documentation of Bismarck ever having yellow Turret tops/
I believe that it was from survivor accounts and the ship's log or war diary. As she approached the coast of France, Lindemann gave orders that the turret tops be painted yellow as aerial recognition signals for the expected Luftwaffe cover. There is a write up about it at the kbismarck website.
@@GRAYR189 correct, also when the germans invaded russia, the luftwaffe painted the underside of the wingtips yellow too to identify them to the army.
@@richard21109 Yes, as well as a yellow fuselage band aft of the balkankreutz near the tail.
@@GRAYR189 this paint scheme make no sense...because even if the order of painting the turrets yellow was true (there's no photographic evidence whatsoever) the Baltic dazzle camouflage was long gone by then.
@@jarkmodels True, but remember also that the Baltic camouflage scheme had nothing whatsoever to do with the ship being recognizable to Luftwaffe reconnaissance. It was designed to make Bismarck unrecognizable to surface units of the Royal Navy by breaking up her outlines and giving an impression she was smaller than she actually was. The yellow turret tops (main armament only) and the swastika bands on the forecastle and fantail decks were intended to be identifiable to air units (the surfaces they were painted on were, after all, easily visible from the AIR). It's true there's no photographic evidence of the yellow turret tops (at least no KNOWN photos), and the main turret that has been found near the wreck is upside down so there is no way to know what color its top is. But there doesn't have to be photographic evidence of something for it to be true (for instance, we don't have photos of Hitler actually committing suicide but we know he did). Ultimately it's unprovable, but the probability that it's true is very high.

Didn’t take HMS Rodney much time to take every gun out, every Bismarck shell missed her in battle so she wasn’t that good at sea
"Loyalty above all else." Lord Bismarck of the Iron Blood faction from Azur Lane.
Bismarck and Yamato had the same fate because they were sunk by aircraft carrier
Bismarck was damaged by a carrier and sunk by battleships
Both wrecks are in dramatically different conditions on the seafloor. Bismarck is largely intact except for elements of her superstructure, stern and turrets, and sits upright. Yamato is in 3 pieces, has a huge hole blown in her hull and is upside down resting on her superstructure and missing her turrets.
The Bismarck is not sunk by the enemy Battleships... self sinking!
