Marvel started dealing with the concept of the Multiverse in Avengers Endgame and Phase 4, and this ending (which was in all likelihood was meant to be a throwaway gag not to be mentioned in the original plans for DP3) serving as the perfect gateway to the MCU.
Him going back and putting an such an overly aggressive end to Green Lantern before it can even be made is absolutely priceless. Reynolds definitely has that singular wit that makes him the perfect Deadpool.

As far as I'm concerned it is 100% canon in both the MCU and DCEU that Deadpool did this. That's why we never see Green Lantern in DCEU movies, plus executing Fakepool doesn't cause any continuity issues with the MCU or X-movies at all. :)

@@Skullbonknot much because it's a movie and a comedy at that, but Deadpool's weapon of choice is the Desert Eagle, which can only hold 9 rounds max if it's in .357 magnum. However, I think it's shown in DP1 that he uses the .50 AE version, and that only holds 7 rounds. So yeah, technically he fired almost twice as many shots as the magazine could actually hold.
