A classic disco record. The theme of traveling to different parts of the world with a pulsating disco beat is genius. The African part is especially tight.
Disco got a bad rap from some, but some of it was pure genius, like this one and other concept albums,Romeo and Juliet come to mine ,along with Once upon a time.
I'm a former club DJ. Sadly, I lost all of my 12" and LPs due to a flooding basement. I'm grateful that someone had the forethought to keep these classics. Missed my music. Thank you for sharing
I know the feeling, just last year I lost a lot of my disco albums and 12 inches to flooding in my storage unit. When it came time to do inventory, each album cover held such special meaning to me.
It was the labeling of everything coming out of this era as "Disco" that led to the revolt of it! A lot of good music (and musicians) was lumped in the mix, and ended a lot of carriers. It's happening today, with the whole "Miami sound" that's the "Flava" of the week. I said this before.. When a sound becomes popular, everyone jumps on the band-wagon, dilutes it, morph's it,. Look how many times "Dance Music" has morphed into what's out there today! No wonder we're looking back!
Voyage Voyage Late 70's Disco Days would not be complete without this Voyage . Tasty geographical disco voyage that take you either to west or east while we can not stop our feet dancin around the globe .It is a magic album from a special time of the Disco era. Into the lighted disco dance floor ... get sweat !
thank you very much for this great album and group with this music of the 70's and through the 80's Blogoversary much this music and today reminds me of my good old school and great friends that I believe that today's youth do not appreciate this music as was made with feeling and heart you tube thanks for giving us the opportunity to pursue our dreams of glory
Agreed to resurect some real pure dance music with classic old real ochestral productions which so very sadly seem to no longer exist its not cheesy its so strong and very mature the older the better it is over a period of time 👍memories
Wonderful music recalling the best days of my life! I have got both of Voyage's first two albums (this and Souvenirs) on LP since 1978 and am desperately looking for them on CD, but to no avail so far.
Voyage's first club hit and one of the very early Second Age of Disco classics, arriving shortly after Corrine appeared solo. The Euro-Disco sound was all in vogue in 1978.
This wasn't a 12, It was the first side of the album. They mixed the 3 tracks together, as a few people did back then. From 'East to West' was released on it's own as the A-side, with 'Point Zero' on the B-side (which used to be played as well in the clubs, especially around Purley/Croydon in the UK at the time). I only had it on a 7 (which still had the majority of the tracks) and liked 'em both but preferred busting some moves to 'Point Zero' :-)
Side A 1. From East To West 7:08 2. Point Zero 4:35 3. Orient Express 5:01 Side B 1. Scotch Machine 3:27 2. Bayou Village 1:50 3. Latin Odyssey 4:49 4. Lady America 6:57
Why do so many people refer to this type of music as "Disco?" Not all people in the clubs back in the day here in N.Y.C. were "Hustling" to music like this!.... That's like saying that the "Trammps" were just a "Disco" group! Please!... You can "Free-style" dance to any kind of music, if you truely know how to dance! Read "Vince Aletti's...Disco Files" book, to get a history of the origin's of "Disco"... We used to dance to "R&B" before there was "Disco,& Euro-Disco"...... Trust me.!
michaels You can download it from You Tube, just get an add on for downloading from you tube (Google It) I use Firefox (FlashGot) I also brought a best of Voyage CD off of Amazon, hope that helps
Great songs...! forever Back to disco...! VOYAGE...!
One Disco Classic that lives in all of us, the sound, the memories. Everywhere you went it was a crowd pleaser and a DJ Delight.

My favorite back in those years. Never ever will come back again. Love it❤️

OMG, same thing happend to me. I lost over 6.000 12'' when our basement was flooded in 2012 here in Munich. I started DJing very young in 1979.
There was no way to clean the vinyl with dish soap or anything? Sad.
Glad you are all right
@@erichhartmann9797 Unfortunately not. It was all dirt and mud.
@@kenkoch9771 wow. I Understand. What a bad loss. I love vinyl albums and 45s. Glad you are ok though

Nice...thank you for song.
This sounded sooooo incredible in 12West!! Tripping my ass off, flying higher than a 747 on my on Voyage!!
Sweet memories!
This duo made Disco into an art form; just like the Beatles did to Rock n' Roll when they released Sgt. Pepper's in 1967.
Memories!
Absolutely
Quanti ricordi!...Il braccio del pick-up che scendeva sul vinile e la magia di questi suoni che uscivano dalle casse del mio primo stereo

Playlist? Does any 1 know the name of the songs? I know the 1st is From east to west, but not the others. :-(
Look at the comments...someone listed the whole album song titles.
Sorry.. .8 years late but hey....I just found this.
He Should've record the LP again without the skip Just saying
A door opened that was previously locked with a sign? Everyone didn’t know why! The sign said .. lost key…gone for a journey!!!
VOIAGE...
Gimme me some poppers
ur right it's Voyage' but it's not from the souvenirs album (1979) it's from their first album:"FROM EAST TO WEST" (1978)
Why does it say disconet in the title? This is the album, correct? There are disconet remixes. That's what I'm looking for.
think it's Voyage - - Souvenir...
Remember no to swear?
... it skips at 2m 1 secs.
Seriously !!!
the track names are unimportant....its the story of slaves voyage from east to west
