This was 100% the family’s fault. So the baby is dead on the ground and they are beating the driver. Prior to that, they left the baby alone as they walked away from the car and then the baby was right in front of the car and nobody was holding the babies hand to get the baby to safety. 100%! Babies don't even take their first steps until around 11 months! So one month into walking and they leave the child unsupervised. When the lady being interviewed said I see her down there playing every day, that told me the baby is there out not being supervised. Or it sounds that way. I can’t imagine not carrying my child in a parking lot. Our duty as parents is to keep our child safe. Things can happen but in this case I feels it parental neglect. I drive uber and lyft. When people depart from the car, they don't like being stared at we've been called for that before. Whether this was an uber or not, letting a toddler walk through a parking lot without being right beside a family member is reckless. Especially when the vans and SUVs you guys order for your families sit so high. And it would be one thing if he was in motion, but since he was stationary he doesn't know if something 2.5 feet tall walked along the side of the vehicle and into the front of his grill. When the lady being interviewed said I see her down there playing every day, that told me the baby is there out not being supervised. Or it sounds that way. I can’t imagine not carrying my child in a parking lot. Our duty as parents is to keep our child safe. Things can happen but in this case I feels it parental neglect. I drive uber and lyft. When people depart from the car, they don't like being stared at we've been called for that before. Whether this was an uber or not, letting a toddler walk through a parking lot without being right beside a family member is reckless. Especially when the vans and SUVs you guys order for your families sit so high. And it would be one thing if he was in motion, but since he was stationary he doesn't know if something 2.5 feet tall walked along the side of the vehicle and into the front of his grill. This is a tragedy but not the driver's fault for once.
