Hi Hoanfimtran. Quite a few people said to me it looks like E.T. Lol On a nice calm day it is lovely to get up there, the views are amazing. I flew it 70km one evening. Here's a link where I was at about 1400 feet having a blast ruclips.net/video/A3Z3ZXLvf28/видео.htmlm43s Cheers Gerry
Wow! I am a powered paraglider pilot, but have not flown in a while because of cervical spine issues. I get numb in the arms and have pain in the neck/shoulder blade area around my spine. I need something similar to fly now. Thanks for sharing this flight of success. Great to see ya fly!
Hi Tyler. It's certainly very green here and all the cows/ cattle are grass fed so lots of the country is covered in it. I need to fix the motor so I can get back up there. Cheers Gerry
Tyler Willingham excellent job, a man after my own heart. Are you happy that the wheels are strong enough for the job? I was thinking that kite buggy wheels would be stronger and broader than the ones that you are using presently. The only trade off is they are a smaller diameter so more susceptible to ruts in the grass Thanks for sharing
GerrysDiy, Great job!! Amazing!! I have so many questions. What size engine do you have? Where did you get the prop? Is the frame made of steel? What size parachute did you use? Absolutely amazing!!
Agree. They don't call it the Emerald Isle for nothing I guess. Beautiful countryside. You certainly have a wonderful place to fly (when the weather cooperates I would guess). Good video.

Hi Simon. I haven't flown in a little while but I did manage to fly the trike 70km one evening. Its very rough and ready but I was smiling for days. Thanks for the comment. Cheers Gerry
Hello congratulations again, I followed your flight was very quiet and beautiful I fly over 35 years and I know well because in the end you were so happy, soon I'll be flying with mine, copy of yours, a big hug for you straight from your Brazilian admirer
Hi Samson. I needed to change a couple of lines on the ppg wing and now that I have the lines sorted out I am waiting on a nice evening or morning and I will take the trike up for a proper flight. Thanks for the comment Cheers Gerry
I will be down for a visit soon Gerry. It felt like I was taking off with you. I could feel the nervous adrenaline in my hands. You know the buzz you get just before take off. Unreal super achievement.
Hello Mr. Tidy. You are more than welcome to come over. I wanted to do a few flights but lost the phone and then found it again yay. More flights soon. Cheers Gerry
Well done, I could feel your excitement and slightly nervous reaction a i can say is it made me as if I was the one flying your machine.. i miss when i used to race motorcycles and that video gave me that awesome on the grid 2 stroke smelling feeling wich I have not felt in years. Thanks so much 😅
I want to get into paramotoring. Thank you for posting this, I know now that on takeoff, one should not let go of the throttle, until they're a little way up, you may have saved a fellow Irishman from across the pond from breaking his legs.
You should have built the front wheel like a castor. Fixing point forward of the wheel. So even if you feet come off in a landing it will always align facing forward.
Hi John with a little more height and a brighter evening the views are stunning. This is rural Ireland with no street lights but amazing starry nights and lots of landing possibilities should I have a motor out. I need very little space to land but I need to land upwind if any obstacles not down wind as they create rotor that can collapse a wing. It can be amazing on the right days. Cheers Gerry
Amazing!! Congratulations!!! What a fantastic achievement! I marvel at your skills, ingenuity and bravery. Well done, Sir! You are in a league of your own, and I applaud you!
Hi Deliverance. It's not pretty.lol but great fun to fly. I have a much better view in the second flight test here ruclips.net/video/d2PQIldAbc8/видео.html Thanks for the comment. Cheers Gerry
Wow! that was a great ride. That tricycle device works really well. You have a seat to sit in and a place to rest your legs. You can even get higher in the air, cruise around and enjoy a sandwich with some chips and a drink ! Give us some more videos.....
Hi D Hansel. Thanks for the comment. On a really smooth day it's possible to fly to a couple of thousand feet, switch off the engine and glide for a few minutes with just the wind. I never thought of having a picnic up there but I think that I will give it a go soon. I have to fix the engine before the next flight but it is on my todo list. Thanks for the comment. Cheers Gerry
Hi Justmadeit2 . If I was bright I wouldn't trust my welding. Lol. It was fun to fly it though. When I fly the paramotor I foot launch and land on my feet too so I am used to landing softly and converting the speed to lift just at the end. I will do a few more low level flights one after another and check all the gear. If at that stage things are ok I will take it to a reasonable altitude like 500 feet and go cross country. On a sunny day here it can be really gorgeous. Cheers Thanks for the comment Cheers Gerry
Cool. I'm about to tackle replacing the drum bearings on a washing machine, and i thought that was a big job. That's small in comparison to your inventions/work !
Hi Joe. I would have loved to head off straight away on the paratrike but I need a few take offs and landings to make sure all is well. ( dodgy welding) I can do that in an hour on the right day and then its off across the country. I will organise the cameras better the next time. I looked at the forecast and Tuesday might be a good candidate for a flight. If it's not raining Sunday I have to retrieve a remote gsm weather station that is up on a mountain and up a 15 meter wooden pole. I have to climb to the top and suspend from a harness while I get the station which is on a 6 meter pole attached to the top of the 15m wooden pole. Looks more dramatic now that I have written it but apart from the hike the views are stunning. I'll bring a camera. Cheers Gerry
Hi Gerry you are just so Happy mate you are bubbling out of the screen , so good to see some one have a win (: I wish you haddnt lost your Ph so you could have taken of again Gerry Just what would the motor assembly and Parachute cost if one was to purchase it and would you need a license to fly one I know that is a hard question as each country has different rules But I Live in a rural country side and we used to see Para-gliders all the time around here , ( Though we are in a air force zone so Im not sure what our Max ceiling would be if we are allowed to use one 40+ years ago I inquired about Parachuting for myself But alas with Dickie knees and a bad back it was advised I DON'T but this could give me a chance at for filling a dream So Happy for you mate Cant wait for your next flight and project Tony From Western Australia
Hi Tony. Most new setups can cost best part of 10 k euro but there is great value to be had in second hand stuff. That was the first take off for me with a trike and it was very easy to take off and land. My advise is to look for a school and get them to take you up in a tandem and see if you like it. I used to jump out of planes but after some free fall and a few minutes under canopy you are on the ground. It is really cool but I like staying up for hours. Paragliding usually requires climbing mountains and then running off unless there are roads to the top. Powered paragliding is cool too. I just walk across the road and take off . I have about a 50 mile out and 50 mile back radius from takeoff. you can get a wing secondhand from about 500 a paramotor secondhand from about 1k reserve second hand 150 you might even be able to get a whole setup ready to go for a couple of grand. Training will be vital. Hope this helps Cheers Gerry
Thanks Gerry for the information It is well worth looking into just a matter know of cash and life's priorities getting in the way ! in the meantime i can live vicariously through you ! Tony
Hi Tony. I get a great kick out of my little dji phantom 3 pro drone and the 4k video from it is amazingly smooth. I have it from new but the cameras in the newer ones aren't any better really so I'm keeping this one for a while longer. Because it takes forever to process 4k video on my setup I have to use it in 1080p but the quality and views from it are great. It's definitely safer than strapping my ass to petrol, propeller and wheels lol. I will try follow me mode on my next flight and see if I can get it to chase me and maybe get some external footage from altitude. That's the plan anyway but the weather doesn't look good enough for a few days. Thanks for the comments Cheers Gerry
Hi MGTOW MAP MAKER. It was cool, I thought something might go wrong so I kept things low and slow but the little paratrike behaved beautifully. A few more short hops and I will go XC. Thanks for the comment Cheers Gerry
I'm going to have to try to resist your paramotor videos in the future for fear of finding myself embroiled in yet another all consuming passion. This just looks VERY addictive, and very tempting as a novel approach to my daily commute.
Hi MGTOW MAP MAKER. I did a bit of skydiving for a little while but I really liked the soaring after I opened the canopy. I thought that I would try paragliding and I actually get to go back up using thermals which can be amazing. Being 6000 feet or more over the country side with a few mates on radio can be so much fun. We leave the cars parked and soar until the thermals kick off and try to climb in them and get to the bottom of the clouds. Once there we leave the mountains and go as far as we can. We can't see the thermals but we can feel and hear them you could be climbing at 1000 feet per minute or more. You're right it is addictive. Thanks for the comment Cheers Gerry
Hi Dean. There are only a couple of schools on the island that I know of. Check out the guys at Ulster hang gliding and paragliding club some of the lads fly ppg and also Eddie on the link below on youtube. ruclips.net/user/derrycityparamotorfeed . There is a ton of stuff on the paraglidingforum.co.uk My advice would be to spend some time talking to the lads and chatting on the forums before spending money. If your down Wexford direction give me a shout. Cheers Gerry
Brilliant gerry,, just seen you on close calls on BBC,, and myself and partner just watched some your videos,, your very inspiring 👏 especially for the Irish 👍🇮🇪
That's was amazing. There was a small part of me that thought any time now he's gonna say just kidding, I'm not gonna fly 5 dollars worth of scrap! Well done!
Hi James. If I had some sense I would have just looked at it in the field and thought back to the pile of scrap it started out as and went home. Lol. Thanks for the comment Cheers Gerry
Thanks John. I am hoping to fly the paramotor this evening if the weather holds and tomorrow the paraglider from a 400m hill in Wexford. Thanks for commenting much appreciated Cheers Gerry👍
Hi Louie. I have done some Skydivingi in Oregon and I thought the place was gorgeous. I was on a beach in California in January in a tee shirt. That doesn't happen here in January but we get a lot of rain to keep all the stuff green. Can't wait to get back in the air. Thanks for the comment Cheers Gerry
if you changed the front wheel to trailing it's easier to steer the trike you know like a shopping cart at the store the wheel will follow the motion of the trike and is not so touchy and a foot loop over your shoe so your feet say on the steering without slipping off during takeoff which could be very bad other than that great job having fun thats what it's about well done
Hi Charyeet Leenord. All the components of the trike are just junk. The wheels are just from a scrap wheelchair and the steel was just bits and pieces that I already had. The front is just an old kids bike. I made this from stuff I already had lying around and so I did not need to buy anything other than welding rods. So about 5 dollars and my time was all it cost to make the trike. The wing and the paramotor were not included in that price but I already had them. Thanks for the comment. Cheers Gerry
Did not include the motor, prop, wing area of the bird, just the wheel frame, from wheel chair parts. An articulating front wheel would be much more stable in a ruff landing, with that if your feet get bounced off the foot supports, the wheel will straighten out to forward axis without rider input. Yes, the title was a tad bit "Click baitish, but not for one minute did I believe he was including the whole package, hell the chute's for these things are over a grand alone.
Hi Harris I made some videos of the build and some much longer flights. Here's the playlist ruclips.net/p/PLmQ5wJnkAIoKQM-plgq1IKNKYU_OfLKph Thanks for subbing Hope this helps Cheers Gerry👍
I'm almost done with my trike. Just need to mount the seat and have my main hang straps sewn. None of the paramotor nor glider manufacturers will do it so I convinced a fabric shop I am making suspension limiters for a rock crawler. I'm maintaining the use of a full harnesses but the load will be on the trike with quick releases Fresh Breeze Style. So far I have $35 bucks in it for new tires and tubes
Hi South Paw. Thanks for the comment. This trike is a health and safety nightmare but it flies well and cost very little. It was fun to fly. Over the winter I will be making a fresh trike but not from scrap. Thanks for the comment Cheers Gerry
It looks well made. It looks rather short and narrow which I would think would make it easier to tip over. I assume you worked out stuff like center of gravity and such before flying it though.
Hi CrimFerret. I did hang test it and the COG was perfect. I could make it wider but that has effects on the wing in the air. Here's a link to where I flew it for 70 km. ruclips.net/video/A3Z3ZXLvf28/видео.htmlm46s There are other links to th ebuild in the description. I will be making a better trike over the winter. It's going to be in stainless and of a different design. The current 5 dollar trike was just for laughs to see if I could make scrap fly lol. Thanks for the comment Cheers Gerry
Hi Jerry. I am waiting on new Brake lines before I can take it up again. The wind here is forecast around 30mph all week so no flying this week for me. Hopefully I can get those rims up a couple of thousand feet next week. I'll be better set up next time with cameras too. Cheers Gerry
Hi Heuric 123. The wing is a sky cima K2 and the motor is a 2 stroke vittorazi moster 185. The prop is 1300mm anticlockwise It is possible to make a different engine work but you have to match the power and rpm to a propeller. Hope this helps and good luck. Thanks for commenting. Cheers Gerry
Hi Ted. To be honest I was expecting issues and that I might have to abort take off. I was delighted to get off the ground but I kept it at low altitude for that flight. Thanks for commenting Cheers Gerry
Would ya have another plumber who flies paramotors and a trike over and have a lovely flight with ya!! 😂.. looks bloody beautiful!! What a beautiful country you live in..I need to get across to meet ya for an xc to the beach!!..🤣😊👍🏻
Hi Artist Group. Its just beginners luck. That was the first time I flew a trike but I had a bicycle for years Lol. Thanks for the comment Cheers Gerry
I saw a chap say safer way to hold the throttle where the lead comes over your forearm from the outside - it is less likely that the lead will get caught in the prop when you move and positions the cutout and accelerator much better in your hand (eg not squashed so you have to be a thumb contortionist to get at it) Nice job!!
Very well don Sir! a joy to watch and especially the in flight vid. as it really shows what paramotoring trikeing is like from the air :-) Many thanks.
Hi John. I will be making more flying videos this year. The engine on this trike is seized but I am getting the parts to get it in the air again. Here's a longer flight but ended in a seized engine at 1500 feet. ruclips.net/video/GekmNBKY2S4/видео.html Cheers Gerry
Hi Bulent. Thanks for the comment. I was paragliding a couple of days ago with no engine from a mountain near me and I had a blast. I flew just 10km but had a great time looking for an finding thermals. I had to land at a golf course too. here's a link ruclips.net/video/-0U5sXCLkU8/видео.html Cheers Gerry
Hi Iron Horse Musings. I just foot launched my paraglider wing and flew from some mountains yesterday. It's cool to fly without engine power, just looking for thermals and working them to get high. I only managed a little over 10km and 1 hour flight time but it was great fun goofing around at 3600 feet . I took some video so that will be live in a couple of hours. I will be flying the trike later this week if the weather improves. Thanks for the comment Cheers Gerry
Hi Joseph. I can normally get about 4 hours from a tank of fuel 11 Litres with the k2 wing in this video. It has a glide ratio of about 8 to 1 so if I am up a mile I can glide 8. That's the theory but the cage adds quite a bit of drag. It is possible to use the paramotor during a thermic day and you could use it to gain altitude and the switch off the engine and play in the thermals. I normally fly on those days without the engine on a higher performance wing in the mountains and if I can hook a thermal I climb to cloud base and head off down wind and use thermals to top up my height as I go 30+ kms with no engine at all. We call it going XC for cross country or over the back. some more info in www.ihpa.ie Cheers Gerry
Hi randy beard. I was given this wing for free and the paramotor has a moster 185 25hp engine so there is a lot of thrust. I nicked one of the brake lines in the shed so I am waiting for a new one in the mail. I plan on taking her up again once that arrives and the weather plays ball. It's only a matter of time before the Awesome great one finds this. Cant Wait lol. Cheers Gerry
Hi Joseph. It does a little but it will fly for about 4 hours on 11 litres of gas which is a cheap day out. The wing has about a 8 to 1 glide ratio on a slimline harness and no paramotor. The cage and trike will affect aerodynamics but it will only do about 48 kmh flat out plus or minus wind speed. I usually bop around at trim which is about 38 kmh. At that speed and flying reasonably low the views are stunning. Thanks for the comment Cheers Gerry
Thanks Thomas I will make a better video next time and go alot higher and further. It will be a dawn or evening flight as the thermal activity will be exhausted and things wont be so bumpy. Cheers Gerry
That wahoo when he landed was so wholesome
Mommy... mommy... I Just saw a flying wheelchair!
That's good son. Did you watch E.T. again?
Hi Hoanfimtran. Quite a few people said to me it looks like E.T. Lol On a nice calm day it is lovely to get up there, the views are amazing. I flew it 70km one evening. Here's a link where I was at about 1400 feet having a blast ruclips.net/video/A3Z3ZXLvf28/видео.htmlm43s Cheers Gerry

You ever build one?
I built my house for $5. I already had everything I needed except for ten nails.
And a wife
5$ paralyser.
What is your house made of if I may ask?
🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣
Y’all really don’t get the joke
I WILL PAY YOU DOUBLE FOR IT !!! whole 10$
What do you say ?

Does it not need an airworthy type certification in the Uk?
Nice job! Make the front wheel center by itself by springs, and limit the turning to around 45 degrees or less, much safer! Cheers
on the trike I built I used the front wheel at 90 degrees to hold it place while the enjine was running before takeoff.
Awesome I’m a fixed wing pilot I like your short takeoff and landing I’m going to have to give it a try
I want to get into paramotoring. Thank you for posting this, I know now that on takeoff, one should not let go of the throttle, until they're a little way up, you may have saved a fellow Irishman from across the pond from breaking his legs.

Check out the guys at Ulster hang gliding and paragliding club some of the lads fly ppg and also Eddie on the link below on youtube. ruclips.net/user/derrycityparamotorfeed . There is a ton of stuff on the paraglidingforum.co.uk
My advice would be to spend some time talking to the lads and chatting on the forums before spending money.
If your down Wexford direction give me a shout. Cheers Gerry
I felt the emotions.
Better than 6 Flags!!
try makeing the frount wheel facing back wards so you have more controll at landing and self allines
Brilliant gerry,, just seen you on close calls on BBC,, and myself and partner just watched some your videos,, your very inspiring 👏 especially for the Irish 👍🇮🇪
Brilliant job
Congratulations
Great job Gerry, well done.
Hi Ribbitmefoot. Cheers Gerry
Very nice job, and very nice home. What a nice area.
Thanks John. I am hoping to fly the paramotor this evening if the weather holds and tomorrow the paraglider from a 400m hill in Wexford. Thanks for commenting much appreciated Cheers Gerry👍
Your making me homesick
That was a great landing, I was rooting for you. Good job.
That was awesome Jerry
Job well done 👍
Cheers Gerry
That takes nuts bro!
great upload, that looks like fun mate, cheers, good on you mate
How do u land it? that front wheel will bend won’t it when u land with the pressure
good work on the trike. beautiful country. can't wait to get up in the air here in california, USA
Looks like fun. Stay safe.
I was thinking could you attatch proppellers to the wing to generate energy like windmills on an electric paramotor so you will always have power?
if you changed the front wheel to trailing it's easier to steer the trike you know like a shopping cart at the store the wheel will follow the motion of the trike and is not so touchy and a foot loop over your shoe so your feet say on the steering without slipping off during takeoff which could be very bad other than that great job having fun thats what it's about well done
Roy Taylor yeah, that front wheel made me nervous.
Dang that engine is smooth
Would you do me a huge favor and tell me how much the trike with you weighs and the rpm’s the engine runs at? It would be appreciated thanks
Wow. That looks like fun.
How did you make this with five dollars
Hi Charyeet Leenord. All the components of the trike are just junk. The wheels are just from a scrap wheelchair and the steel was just bits and pieces that I already had. The front is just an old kids bike. I made this from stuff I already had lying around and so I did not need to buy anything other than welding rods. So about 5 dollars and my time was all it cost to make the trike. The wing and the paramotor were not included in that price but I already had them. Thanks for the comment. Cheers Gerry
Gerry's Waste Oil Burner atleast you didn't have to pay 6000 XD
That's true. Thanks for commenting. Cheers Gerry
Did not include the motor, prop, wing area of the bird, just the wheel frame, from wheel chair parts. An articulating front wheel would be much more stable in a ruff landing, with that if your feet get bounced off the foot supports, the wheel will straighten out to forward axis without rider input. Yes, the title was a tad bit "Click baitish, but not for one minute did I believe he was including the whole package, hell the chute's for these things are over a grand alone.
nice powered parachute but unfortunately it would cost way more the $5.oo to build
Just subcribed and one question .How you set fan and seat. And from where you buy.
Hi Harris I made some videos of the build and some much longer flights. Here's the playlist ruclips.net/p/PLmQ5wJnkAIoKQM-plgq1IKNKYU_OfLKph Thanks for subbing Hope this helps Cheers Gerry👍
Beautiful flight
Nice fly ! and the view is beautiful . Come to fly in Argentina you'll love it !
God bless The Republic of IRELAND!! :) Sweet video brother! Keep em' comin'!!
Hi South Paw. Thanks for the comment. This trike is a health and safety nightmare but it flies well and cost very little. It was fun to fly. Over the winter I will be making a fresh trike but not from scrap. Thanks for the comment Cheers Gerry
Great Video, Love Your Spirit of Adventure, My grandmother was from Ireland....
Awesome Gerry.
WOW ......I saw two things here
Real geek
stunning view well done
Nicely done, great to see that you kept the handrims for that authentic look, haha!
Hi Jerry. I am waiting on new Brake lines before I can take it up again. The wind here is forecast around 30mph all week so no flying this week for me. Hopefully I can get those rims up a couple of thousand feet next week. I'll be better set up next time with cameras too. Cheers Gerry
Hi! I am going to make one like that in the bush south part of Madagascar!! How can I get the motor & the chute? Please advise
Hi Heuric 123. The wing is a sky cima K2 and the motor is a 2 stroke vittorazi moster 185. The prop is 1300mm anticlockwise
It is possible to make a different engine work but you have to match the power and rpm to a propeller. Hope this helps and good luck. Thanks for commenting. Cheers Gerry
Wonderful bit of footage!!!
How much weight can that thing lug around?
nice job
I think you need a limiter for excessive rotation of the front wheel
Hi Speedglider. That was the first flight on this but I did more that you can find here bit.ly/2ZplTg9 Thanks for commenting Cheers Gerry
Sure glad you know what your doing, that was thrilling to watch.
Hi Artist Group. Its just beginners luck. That was the first time I flew a trike but I had a bicycle for years Lol. Thanks for the comment Cheers Gerry
Right on, man. Your huge balls didn't weigh you down too badly.
Nice work looks fun
Well done!
I saw a chap say safer way to hold the throttle where the lead comes over your forearm from the outside - it is less likely that the lead will get caught in the prop when you move and positions the cutout and accelerator much better in your hand (eg not squashed so you have to be a thumb contortionist to get at it) Nice job!!
why not hook the steering lines to your foot bar for the front wheel?
Nice work Gerry...Some sort of steering damper might help on that front wheel and some foot loops
Very well don Sir!
a joy to watch and especially the in flight vid. as it really shows what paramotoring trikeing is like from the air
:-)
Many thanks.
Brilliant I think you should have someone with you incase of accident, well done.
Bravo from Jonquiere in Québec in Canada
Why are caribeener facing outwards??
Makes me want to build one
Hi That 1 Weasel. It's lovely up there. Thanks for commenting Cheers Gerry 👍
Where is available this
Excellent video, thumbs up.
Hi John. I will be making more flying videos this year. The engine on this trike is seized but I am getting the parts to get it in the air again. Here's a longer flight but ended in a seized engine at 1500 feet. ruclips.net/video/GekmNBKY2S4/видео.html Cheers Gerry
Hi. Can you show us how did you make this?
Hi I have a playlist of the build and test flights here goo.gl/EMP2xw Cheers Gerry
Dude, I'm totally gonna build this
Good job 👍👍
What engine are you using
Amazing jobs thanks for sharing.
Great video, well done! The one I am considering is $3,200 without wing or motor!! So very impressive!
That has to be about the simplest powered air vehicle in existence.
That awesome right there!!
Thanks Shannon. Cheers Gerry
Thats Right SAFETY - FIRST - You Got Me HUNGRY for FLYING .. FLYING - Home MADE : Para - Motor
Silly question but with the added weight how does it affect fuel consumption
Gerry's Waste Oil Burner--Wild Dell would be Thrilled knowing that you are using the K2 Wing...ha...
Thanks for the comment Cheers Gerry
nice build
I really enjoyed this I was laughing while you did it, nice landing build my own stuffs by myself is my dream ongoing NICE JOB DUDE!!!
beautiful !!
man that looks so much fun great job Gerry thumbs up
Thanks Thomas I will make a better video next time and go alot higher and further. It will be a dawn or evening flight as the thermal activity will be exhausted and things wont be so bumpy. Cheers Gerry
Wow nice interesting.. who else wishes to have one like me😂
great job..nice work
