  • Rob Dillingham has to be considered one of the most fun players to watch in the entire 2024 NBA Draft class. Ever since his Donda Academy and Overtime Elite days, he’s had viral video after viral video of his aggressive, over the top style play, and while he came under more control playing in the more organized system of Kentucky this year he still provided a ton of highlights while looking much more efficient than in years past. What kind of player is Dillingham actually though? In the past, while looking fun to watch, he was a bit of an inefficient chucker. This year, we saw a different side of him, and can now envision that he could be more, but how much more? Is he likely to end up as an instant offense, high usage 6th man type? Or does he have true superstar potential as a high level scorer? Today, we look at the pros of his game, the cons, and try to see what kind of player Rob Dillingham will be at the NBA level.

      He added "WELCOME TO THE TIMBERWOLVES" after the trade.

    Defense is just effort! He is very young and his body will fill out. Mike Conley has been a top player for years and is a shorter player also. He also will have Kat and Ant to take the pressure off.

    Thank you for another nice profile!
    Fit be damned, as a fan I will thoroughly enjoy watching this guy in the NBA and hope my fav team picks him. With picks 4 and 8, The Spurs look set up to add serious talent at guard. I can’t wait to see how this ‘weak’ draft pans out overall. And I hope my Blazers do well at 7, 14. But watching Rob next year is the thing I look forward to most. He’s electric.

      As a Spurs fan I have a few players ranked over him, specifically Tidjuan, Castle, Matas and Carter for the 8 range. That being said, if we draft him at 8 I would love the pick, at 4 I hope for Risarcher, Castle, or Tidjuan (I think he will go early, think Coulibaly rise from last year).
      The Blazers have a ton of options too, great trade pieces (Grant, Brogdon, Simons) and also two lottery picks, they could decide to go rebuild or playoff contender as soon as this Summer. My mock have you taking Tidjuan at 7 and Edey (or Tyler Smith) at 14.

      @@3KRacingwhat do you think about Kel’El Ware? I love him and hope my rockets can trade down from 3 to grab him or can move back into the draft and take him. I think he’s the ideal backup to Sengun. Covers a lot of his weaknesses especially if the shot is viable

      Thanks for the support! And yeah, I’d be interesting to see if someone like the Blazers took him. Not sure how he’d fit in the lineup with a lot of young guards but I can’t imagine he wouldn’t play heavy minutes regardless

      Personally for the Spurs I like the idea of taking a PG like Sheppard or Dillingham to help with spacing and then with the other pick take a more high ceiling, home run swing type player like Salaun, Holland, or Buzelis

    I think saying strength is a weakness is an error. The guy is absolutely ripped and has a 12 pack. Power would be the more accurate word to used as a weakness.

    when he's on the floor with Ant, the defenses will be challenged and he'll see a lot of good matchups and shots.

    He could be Curry V2 or Ice Trae V2. It all depends on his focus and dedication to the professional game. He needs much more strength and better consistency/shot selection.

    @Dirty_deuce1906 26 дней назад

    Exactly what the Rockets need! Ime will coach him up on defense like he did Jalen Green and Sengun. With the addition of Adams and Tari back from injury the Rockets will probably have a top 10 defense again. They struggled with shooting and shot creation. That’s why they had a bottom 3rd offense. Rob Dillingham solves all of those problems.

    • @hoophierarchy
      @hoophierarchy  26 дней назад

      I could see that for the rockets, I just question where you fit in all the guards? Amen, FVV, Green, Whitmore even playing some guard minutes, where does Dillingham fit in there?

      @@hoophierarchy FVV/JG/Dillon/Bari/Sengun are the starters. Rob/Cam/Amen/Tari/Adams would be the reserves. He’ll share ball handling duties since Amen’s handles and shot aren’t quite there yet. As you mentioned, Rob will be perfectly slotted next to a bigger defensive guard (Amen) and wings (Cam/Tari). Rockets desperately needed someone to generate offense off the bench when FVV/JG/Sengun sat last year. Then, there’s a high probability the Rockets decline FVV team option next offseason, clearing a path for a starting PG
