I haven't done a lot of the minigame yet so please correct me if I'm wrong, but wiki says fulfilling two orders at once rewards 20% more resin, while fulfilling all three in one go rewards 40% more resin, so you presumably lose 20% of the bonus from the two orders by not fulfilling the third. As an example, imagine the orders: MAL - 60 points MML - 30 points LLL - 20 points Fulfilling MAL+MML would be 90*1.2= 108 points (54 points/potion) Fulfilling all three would be 110*1.4 = 154 points (~51.33 points/potion) For another example, imagine you have two 30 point potions and a triple letter: MMA - 30 points MML - 30 points MMM - 20 points Fulfilling MMA+MML would be 60*1.2= 72 points (36 points/potion) Fulfilling all three would be 80*1.4 = 112 points (~37.33 points/potion) Based off this napkin math, it seems more efficient to complete the third order if you have two 30-point orders and one 20-point order. Additionally, even if your order list includes an MAL order, there might be some merit to making the triple potion, if it is for a reward point category you are falling behind in, because it's only marginally less points/potion (and technically slightly less time invested per potion as it saves you a trip to the conveyor belt). Do you have thoughts on this/know if my napkin math accurately represents the reward points you actually get in game? The minigame has been mostly straightforward to me, but figuring out which orders to skip is a little bit confusing. edit: another thought here, although the triple potion in the first example (with an MAL in the order list) is worth a marginal 46 points (154-108 - less points/potion than just completing MAL+30 point potion), that's a lot higher than the average potion value in an order list that doesn't include MAL (~36-37 points, looking at example 2). So a triple letter potion in tandem with an MAL order is worth more points than the average potion in a list that doesn't include MAL. Given MAL has the lowest weight, I would assume that makes the triple letter potion worth doing. I believe it would require leveraging the order weights in order to determine the average potion value overall in order to determine the exact difference in points per potion though Thanks
Man if I could pin this a hundred times I would, this is awesome. Extremely thought provoking. The 20%/40% is a total mistake on my part. Definitely just didn’t re-read my script and see the mistake compared with the wiki. Nice catch there. In terms of the other info you put up- I would say absolutely it’s worth making triple letters if you are behind in the resin for that certain potion. I found myself doing that constantly (while learning and recording for this vid, I found myself doing AAA a lot because I was getting less Aga orders overall). I would say the only reason I didn’t include this line of thinking is because it’s really a preference, everyone is going to have different potions they want to prioritize for rewards/catching up in resin. Plus in the past I’ve made guides that are extremely strict in saying “this is exactly how you need to do it” and I wasn’t a fan of that. But absolutely this is a very fair and completely understandable way of thinking. In terms of your other idea regarding the value of triple letter potions with MAL, it’s an interesting hypothesis, one that in theory makes sense. We’d definitely need to test it out because there’s multiple variables here, namely the 0%/20%/40% bonus (you noted), the weights of each of the potion orders (you noted), the time each of the processing stations take (Alembic > Retort > Agitator), and everyone’s unique herblore level. Getting into some REAL deep weeds here…but it would definitely be possible to test out this theory. In my line of work in the real world it would be a test similar to a Measurement System Analysis, where we would isolate and test each of those 4 variables to see which is optimal…as well as if any of those 4 are linked/dynamic to one another. When I was recording/researching for this video, I was mainly just looking to see how skipping triple letter versus not skipping affected overall xp/hr and resin per hour. But this really had me thinking. I’ll definitely revisit this soon and maybe do a test like that. Everyone loves an “OpTiMaL xP and REwaRdS per hOuR” video lol. Really man this is one of the best, most thought provoking comments I’ve ever seen. Hats off and thank you for the note on the 20%/40%. I will pin this comment for future peeps to stay in the know.
@@ChemieYT Glad you found the comment insightful, and thanks for the video! Agree with all your points above. Very nice guide for introducing the minigame and breaking down a solid strategy into easy-to-follow steps/rules. If you end up doing a deep dive into the different strategies I'm sure the min-maxers will appreciate it, but I suspect the rates will be close enough that it whichever approach you prefer will be reasonable I will probably end up making all 3 orders every time, at least until my reward points are skewed, so that it's one less thing to think about since I'll probably afk this grind while I watch something. Thanks for the thoughtful reply and nice job on the video.
Great Guide. Regarding digweed, it will spawn if you add it to a potion. So when one does spawn, I immediately make a MAL then add the digweed and put that potion lower in my inventory. The machine only takes finished potions, so if you wait to finish the MAL for when you need it, it won't be deposited. If you make a mistake with an order in the finish (put it in wrong machine) you can make the 3 ordered potions and have the deposit take only those 3 by having them before your incorrect one. Not sure if this works with less than 3 potions being deposited. but definitely better than depositing a non-ordered potion.
Tip: If you start to process the wrong potion type, place it in your inventory on the same side you processed the potion on and save it for a later order. IE: (orientated with the converybelt at the top of the screen Alembic on the left, Agitator in the middle and Retort on the right) say the potion I was processing was supposed to be used in the retort but used it on the alembic, I would place the messed up potion on the bottom left of my inventory to remind myself that's what process that potion has gone through
-maintains eye contact before the embrace -softly rubs back during embrace -whispers a few sweet nothings in your ear “We should do this again sometime” Awkward exit

The levers don't have to be pulled in a specific order, just as long as u have the right pastes -- "Marleys Moonlight" will be made with MML, LMM, or MLM, etc.
Last night i spammed LLL for 2 hrs even tho I got 10 and some 20 points I say for rewards spamming one like LLL u can get 280 per invo I get 1k in 3 invos all I want is points

Ty for the guide. Very concise!
Great guide and editing style.
Great guide, friend!
Great guide, thanks man!
If I may, as someone who's had to kick the habit too, you don't have to say "obviously" all the time! Thanks again.
love your narrating style
Great guide!
Thanks for the guide!
Realizing that all same letter potions are significantly less than the combination potions, has helped so much with saving time. Thank you for that
This looks like a complicated nightmare. Huge thanks for the guide im just not so sure i wanna go through all this.
14:52 You can just use a digweed on a mixalot and keep it in your inventory so that way you can have more spawn
Tyvm, a lot easier than expected. Some other guides just over complicated it too much
Yet another content creator that has a criminally low subscriber count. Thanks for the useful information, I hope you continue to make more videos.
Nice video. Subscribed.
amazing guide. better than the wiki.
Nice vid
Idk why u dont have more subscribers, you're hilarious to watch! Keep it up
Solid guide. ty
well made 👍
any idea why im not getting any potion orders that are highlighted in green?
you are great
Great video, getting in the mix!
Phenomenal guide, amazing editing, clear and concise explanations and a fun personality. 10/10 guide right here, gold standard
Yeah, this was a really good guide. Got a few unexpected laughs out of watching it
Great guide, Thank you for making it simple!
This was actually a really well done and helpful video, thank you!
Shout-out to the iron that told me guams are useless while playing this minigame right after complaining about not having enough Mox resin
I'm here for my special hug now that this is all said and done...

talking smack about other content creators wont get you many friends, but good guide regardless glad to see people cussing a little bit in a guide.
Why are they adding complicated things like this to Old school? I play this game to relax not to sweat and be angry.
100% not in the spirit of OSRS
its not complicated, seriously i've started doing it and its not at all complicated. theres still traditional herblore with 10x the xp/hr aswell.
