Thanks mate - I like to think they're powered by witchcraft! They use kinetic energy, so don't have batteries, and last for about 75 years!
I'm wondering if it's necessary to protect floor steel beams with this pink plasterboard or is it sufficient to put 200mm mineral wool underneath the suspended floor?

Floor steels are usually protected by intumescent paint, because heat/flames rise, they don't normally get wrapped in any way.
The ceiling ones get wrapped in the pink stuff for 30mins fire protection.

11:44 One piece of advice I would give is to put your receivers for the ‘witchcraft’ 😂 switches behind where the light switch for the bedroom is going incase they fail in the future save you ripping the wall apart, would only then need to take the backbox off.

Thanks! Realistically it's going to take some time! Cash is king, and we don't fully need the room for life to continue...we'd love it done this year, but nothing is set in stone
