Well they would rank both nights as one but if we did them separately I’d probably actually put it worse than either of 36’s nights, nobody went over , omos (I don’t care if win or lose) to go down with a single f5 in 5mins and auska going 0-4 at mania , and the never ending story due to the same bloodline bullocks
Luke putting Mania 28 on the list is crazy to me...but the crazier part is how vastly undersold how bad 9 and 11 are. Those shows are ass! Also 4 should've been at least mentioned somewhere
WM 27 is made worse by the fact that Miz was concussed, ruining the planned finish. And McMahon basically going, “We gotta finish, so dammit kid, finish!” Dude didn’t know where he was and was essentially told to keep banging his body around. And damn John Cena for making that spot happen the way he did. He could have (and should have) had Miz come down off the barricade so he wouldn’t slam Miz’s skull off the concrete. The match was sloppy to start, didn’t get any better. No real highlights to anything from that show.
I get the hate behind mania 27 with Miz and Cena main eventing and Lawler vs Cole. But there is some good matches on that card: Punk vs Orton Cody Rhodes vs Rey Mysterio Edge vs Notable Prick Alberto Del Rio Triple H vs Undertaker I know its not a good show but i'm not having it be the worst when you have Mania's 2, 4, 9, 11, 32 and 34 have a less total of good matches than 27
Luke doesn’t get more talk about 28 shouldn’t be on this list. He gave one reason for it being on the list, and it was a filler tag match. Nothing else
Solid list as usual, chaps. Although If I'm honest, I'm hoping your next few lists shift away from best/worst PPVs as I do feel that a chunk of these picks turned up in your other list videos before now. I have my fingers crossed for Top 10 Best/Worst Factions in future.
I'm so glad Edge's career didn't end with WrestleMania 27. Because I think 27 got a lot of slack, before 2020, for being Edge's last show. And then he came back at the Royal Rumble! And Adam Copeland is STILL GOING! So now we can hate on WrestleMania 27 *properly*.
When I started watching wrestling again, 9 was universally accepted as the worst one. A year later, 27 happened and suddenly there was a debate. Now, 9 isn’t even in the top 5. That’s pretty sad.
So, I don't think anyone will see this but I would like to give some creative criticism. I absolutely love these lists/videos but I would love a little more explanation in the decisions. I'm someone who is a massive wrestling fan but don't remember all of these things or PPV's and I just don't want to be researching every choice so I can know that they are talking about. I do agree, most of the time it is fine, it's just some times, I would love more context.
As an old school fan since the early 80's, Wrestlemania 8 cheated the fans of the Dream Match between Hogan and Flair for the WWF title. Back then it was who was better, Hogan or Flair. You could tell from the fans at that Wrestlmania and at home that the WWF screwed up huge. Mind you, they built up Wrestlemania 8 for that dream match and 2 weeks later changed paths due to Hogan admitting steroid use. That match STILL could've been done because nobody cared that wrestlers were on steroids. We already knew that.
36 was awful. It will never be remembered for anything other than it being a boring show with no one in attendance during a period of time in the world when we were confined to house arrest.
@@BigWoody823 that's not WWE's fault though. It was a great watch at the time. And the cinematic matches are amazing. I feel like it's kinda unfair to put it in the top 10. Especially when there are definitely worse WrestleManias Just my opinion though
Slightly funny story. I was at WrestleMania 27. I remember really enjoying myself. had lots of drinks, I remember Cody vs Rey was a great match. I think Cody was starting or in the beginning of the Undashing story and had the mask. Good stuff I unironically liked Jersey Shore at the time. So I remember Snooki doing a good looking handspring elbow in the corner. I remember hating Cena at the time. So watching him lose in the main event to the Miz made me happy at the time So now the twist. A big group of my friends went, but one guy couldn't make it because his job didn't approve his time off. So he watched it alone in TV. My buddies and I were talking with him the next day saying how great mania was and blah blah blah. He looked at us like we were crazy and said it was awful. So one by one we all tried to rewatch it that week and slowly realizing how bad the show was. TLDR: being there live and intoxicated in the crowd can change your viewing experience.
I know im in the wrong here, but i kinda liked mania 34 A lot of wrong winners, sure, but hey, champions have to retain sometimes Shinsuke and AJ, Asuka and Charlotte, and Brock and Roman are the only matches I’d change who won, but outside of those i think the show was pretty okay Especially with Seth getting his IC title reign in that absolutely PERFECT opening match.
@@thatonek1duno34 doesn't deserve the hate it gets. IC opener was a banger. Asuka/Charlotte, despite the finish, was a great match. Nakamura/AJ was solid. It's not their fault that the fans hyped it up to be an 18-star classic. That's the fans' fault. Grade it on what it was, not on what you expected it to be. The mixed tag at this show was also incredible. Go back and rewatch it. It's a trip. And as shitty as the main event was, I actually popped when Brock won. I thought it was hilarious.
36 is a time capsule, it’s going to be fascinating to look back on in 10 years and a damn sight more entertaining than at least a quarter of other manias. Doesn’t deserve this ranking, similarly 2 needs as asterisk for the experiment - it’s the second mania and with that extremely early in PPV, it’s tough to really follow a guideline of what will work when you don’t have one established.
Dunno why I imagine I would be in one of these videos, so instead I'll just wait for Luke to be in the middle seat to do what I would do: "Tables!" "Are Lists Actually Good?" "And Chairs!"
I'm just gonna suggeat a TLC episode since it's Mania season: Top 10 Best/Worst WWE Title Matches held at Wrestlemania. No WHC or Universal Title matches, just the WWE Title. You really dig deep into some of the matches that happened with that belt on the line Also, gotta agree wuth y'all. F**k Mania 27!
To this day, I still have not seen the main event of mania 32. I watched everything leading up to it, but I when triple h's entrance was over, I cut it off.
Honestly, not surprised that 36 is on the list. The grandest stage of tjhem all...in an era where a virus effectively placed almost every human being into house arrest. It's probably for that reason why 36 (and really just 2020 post-Elimination Chamber until MitB 2021) would be considered a bad time all around. That said, probably wouldn't have placed it in a podium finish though (9, 32 and 27 from Bronze to Gold for me)
WM 2 would not have been on my top ten list because a) they were still in the "let's throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks" stage, and b) the Dream Team/Bulldogs match was absolutely a MOTY candidate. That said, with the steady growth of PPV even then, it was less a new concept in closed-circuit television or "satellite" television and more a last major push for it before PPV proved more profitable to promoters of all kinds than closed circuit TV.
It's funny because while I don't like WM27 in general, WWE has made me dislike more because of their inability to maintain licensing rights. Undertaker vs HHH was the only good match imo and a big part of what I loved about it was the entrances HHH looking BADASS lit aglow as For Whom The Bell Tolls plays, Taker slowly walking to Johnny Cash. Awesome. And both edited in subsequent replays. Without those what are you left with? An admittedly good but not match between the two and an admittedly all timer of a video package for Miz with Hate Me Now? Show is bad
To me, WrestleMania 36 is #0 on this list. It's the worst and something that I'll never watch again, but I also can't hold it against WWE since the circumstances were out of their control.
Wrestlemania 28 so high up on a list is crazy. I know all personal opinion. However Taker v HHH, Punk v Jericho and Cena v Rock should have kept it off, or not so high. Also personally I think 36 deserves a pass just due to the circumstances surrounding it
lol yeah, I was at WrestleMania 25 too. And even with attendance bias, I freely admit it was a mid Mania with 1 fantastic match in HBK vs Undertaker. ...Why on earth did they make Triple H vs Orton a regular ol' singles match with DQ? Even without knowing they'd have to follow an all-timer, it was a blood feud that had escalated to the point of home invasion. Baffles me.

The thing about doing Wrestlemania in multiple cities is that now, they actually can do that and have it work. Do Smackdown and Night 1 in one city, and Night 2 and Raw somewhere else. Maybe this is how they facilitate more overseas Manias, by doing an American city for one of the two nights, and London or Paris or Sydney or whatever the other night.
OMG, Luke is my spirit animal with Mania 27. It was the first show I watched with a group of people; only about half the people returned for next year's Mania. That Taker/HHH match was so long and plodding. HHH hitting the Tombstone was like the only mildly interesting thing about it. I genuinely don't get how so many people rank it as one of the better Taker Mania matches (his other two HHH matches were so much better).
Crazy thing is, Wrestlemania 27 was the first Mania I watched live lol. Cody/Rey, Punk/Randy, Triple H/Taker 2, and the Miz's video package before the main event, are what stuck out to me as what was good about it, but everything else they said was definitely spot on lol

28 is deceptively shit because it's between 27 and 29. Team Johnny Vs Team Teddy, Orton Vs Kane, Big Show Vs Cody, Bryan Vs Sheamus, the Maria Menunous match, CM Punk/Jericho not being THAT good, and the main event being divisive. Like there's actually almost nothing good here.
Revisiting this video because I went back to rewatch 36, and I do agree with Pete that 36 is full of great matches but the show is unwatchable. A personal note that hurts more is that COVID caused the pandemic shutdowns that gave us Mania 36, and it’s also the illness that led to the heart attack which killed the man behind the best match of that weekend. The one big plus of 36 is giving us the two-night Mania, which is still the best production change WWE has made in decades.

Yep, I was there live for Wrestlemania 28. I thought it was a great show
That's how I feel about 12 and 9 never watched back but as a kid I enjoyed both...
0:05 One day, Stairs will be involved
Top 10 worst gimmick matches???
I'm waiting for Tables & Stairs, Lists!
Best/Worst weapons in wrestling
0:01 - 0:05 that joke becomes more funnier every time...
I wonder where Pete put Mania 39 Night 2?
But there is some good matches on that card:
Punk vs Orton
Cody Rhodes vs Rey Mysterio
Edge vs Notable Prick Alberto Del Rio
Triple H vs Undertaker
I know its not a good show but i'm not having it be the worst when you have Mania's 2, 4, 9, 11, 32 and 34 have a less total of good matches than 27
9:11 Sauce-less Steve Austin is great 🤣
I wish these WrestleTalk TLC shows were a bit more frequent.
0:36 *GENERAL KENOBI?!*
Yes that is the joke
I understand why you put 36 there but it’s very harsh because it’s not their fault and they did their best with what was given
I love you guys, but talking down on Bret and Shawn at WM12 hearts me heart! 😢 I still enjoy that match lol.
It’s sad because I feel like if WM36 happened outside of COVID it would’ve gone down as one of the top five greatest of all time
I’m bummed they never brought up the ic ladder match from 32. That match ruled, and Ryder winning was awesome.
Shame about WM36 because the Boneyard Match and the Firefly Funhouse Match especially are two of my favorite matches.
Suffering from an insane hangover right now and i feel the headache cured as this video plays
0 mentions of WrestleMania 4?
Also 36 and 28 have no business being on this list
36 was awful. It will never be remembered for anything other than it being a boring show with no one in attendance during a period of time in the world when we were confined to house arrest.
@@BigWoody823 that's not WWE's fault though. It was a great watch at the time. And the cinematic matches are amazing.
I feel like it's kinda unfair to put it in the top 10. Especially when there are definitely worse WrestleManias
Just my opinion though
@@shachardahan1081 it is one of the most un-rewatchable manias there are…that puts it on my list.
@@BigWoody823I respect your opinion
@@shachardahan1081 same. Much respect.
TLC list of best wwe/aew debuts ever. Could have some good lists here! Awesome videos gents!
Slightly funny story. I was at WrestleMania 27. I remember really enjoying myself.
had lots of drinks, I remember Cody vs Rey was a great match. I think Cody was starting or in the beginning of the Undashing story and had the mask. Good stuff
I unironically liked Jersey Shore at the time. So I remember Snooki doing a good looking handspring elbow in the corner.
I remember hating Cena at the time. So watching him lose in the main event to the Miz made me happy at the time
So now the twist.
See Luke what you’ve failed to realize is that we can defend the Miz without trying to defend WrestleMania 27
Exactly
Mania 32 sucked. So I get it. But a dark horse for bad Manias is definitely 34. Goodness that was a tough one
I know im in the wrong here, but i kinda liked mania 34
A lot of wrong winners, sure, but hey, champions have to retain sometimes
Shinsuke and AJ, Asuka and Charlotte, and Brock and Roman are the only matches I’d change who won, but outside of those i think the show was pretty okay
Especially with Seth getting his IC title reign in that absolutely PERFECT opening match.
@@thatonek1duno Completely fair. It was a lot of factors that went into me not liking the show though
I disagree with Mania 8 being on here, it had two great matches in Piper vs Bret and Flair vs Savage and Ultimate Warriors return
There's plenty of Manias that didn't even have two great matches so I agree, it shouldn't be on here.
Also through the first couple matches the card seems actually good. Like taker vs Jake was OK. Martel vs michaels OK to. 8 was better than 4,7 and 6
36 is a time capsule, it’s going to be fascinating to look back on in 10 years and a damn sight more entertaining than at least a quarter of other manias. Doesn’t deserve this ranking, similarly 2 needs as asterisk for the experiment - it’s the second mania and with that extremely early in PPV, it’s tough to really follow a guideline of what will work when you don’t have one established.
Bury 27 all u want but Taker vs HHH was the only shining star in that whole show.
Was it because of the chair shots to the head?
Saying the HHH V Taker match in 27 blows is fucking insane
I am so glad Pete shares my absolute disdain and hatred for Wrestlemania 34 😂🙌🏼
Dunno why I imagine I would be in one of these videos, so instead I'll just wait for Luke to be in the middle seat to do what I would do: "Tables!" "Are Lists Actually Good?" "And Chairs!"
Every time I think about the main event of WrestleMania 27, I think about Miz getting a concussion and don't remember the match.
Wouldn't be surprised, since Mania is 2 nights now, if they experiment with holding one night in one city and the next in a neighboring city.
I’m expecting it, half in Saudi half in NY within 5 years
@@SimoSensaiUK the me to think of it, The Dub could have cities warring over who gets nights 2. A metric ton of money to be made there
I'm just gonna suggeat a TLC episode since it's Mania season: Top 10 Best/Worst WWE Title Matches held at Wrestlemania. No WHC or Universal Title matches, just the WWE Title. You really dig deep into some of the matches that happened with that belt on the line
Also, gotta agree wuth y'all. F**k Mania 27!
To this day, I still have not seen the main event of mania 32. I watched everything leading up to it, but I when triple h's entrance was over, I cut it off.
Happy St. Paddy’s Day, WrestleTalk. ☘️🇮🇪
That said, probably wouldn't have placed it in a podium finish though (9, 32 and 27 from Bronze to Gold for me)
Pete hating Wrestlemania 34 because he was trying to impress a girl and it didnt work is somehow very Pete
10:25
Luke is 100% right about the casual fans 😂🤝
WM 2 would not have been on my top ten list because a) they were still in the "let's throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks" stage, and b) the Dream Team/Bulldogs match was absolutely a MOTY candidate. That said, with the steady growth of PPV even then, it was less a new concept in closed-circuit television or "satellite" television and more a last major push for it before PPV proved more profitable to promoters of all kinds than closed circuit TV.
It's funny because while I don't like WM27 in general, WWE has made me dislike more because of their inability to maintain licensing rights. Undertaker vs HHH was the only good match imo and a big part of what I loved about it was the entrances
HHH looking BADASS lit aglow as For Whom The Bell Tolls plays, Taker slowly walking to Johnny Cash. Awesome. And both edited in subsequent replays.
Without those what are you left with? An admittedly good but not match between the two and an admittedly all timer of a video package for Miz with Hate Me Now? Show is bad
I think the iron man match is awesome and Diesel vs Taker was a good big man match. 12 is no where near the worst mania.
3:12
Poor Tempest 😂
Quite literally, caught in the middle 🤣
To me, WrestleMania 36 is #0 on this list. It's the worst and something that I'll never watch again, but I also can't hold it against WWE since the circumstances were out of their control.
Wrestlemania 28 so high up on a list is crazy. I know all personal opinion. However Taker v HHH, Punk v Jericho and Cena v Rock should have kept it off, or not so high.
Also personally I think 36 deserves a pass just due to the circumstances surrounding it
I definitely agree about WrestleMania 9. WrestleMania 25 I was there and spent the entire last match texting my friends back home.
lol yeah, I was at WrestleMania 25 too.
Baffles me.
@@A-Oh-Trey yeah the Undertaker and Shawn match was the best of the card. I did like the Jericho match because of how great Ricky 'the Dragon' (I honestly can't remember his last name) looked at his age.
@sheliamonette539 Oh yeah, getting to see Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat still go was neat too 'cause he was before my time as a wrestling fan, but I had always heard great things about him. MitB was fun as usual too. I also personally enjoyed Hardy vs Hardy, but I've always been more a Matt fan and know I'm probably in the minority there lol
@AyOhTrey I had too. When I got into wrestling it was because of the Von Erichs. My main reason to go was for the Hall of Fame to see them and Stone Cold be inducted.
MITB was fun. Matt and Jeff should have been given more time. I hated the build up to the match unfortunately.
@sheliamonette539 Nice! The Von Erichs were also before my time (didn't get into wrestling until '99/2000), but I've heard of them too as Texas legends. Saw The Iron Claw this year and have even more respect for what they went through now.
Also, agreed on the Hardy match build up. The implication of Matt being responsible for Jeff's house getting burned down was an...interesting choice lol
Triple H and Randy Orton absolutely deserved to main event Mania 25...
BUT NOT IN A STANDARD MATCH
Should've been a no holds barred or a street fight

I actually fully agree with all of them.
Great job, lads!
luke saying the Triple H vs Taker match at WM 27 blows is a take you can fry some bacon on. and i do not agree with it. 27 is still an ass show. it was the first wrestlmania ive ever watched. but i will defend the undertaker match till my dying breath cause if it wasnt for that match i wouldnt have become a wrestling fan
Wrestlemania 28 being on the list period is a wild take but to have it as 3rd worst?! Luke what are you smoking
Wrestlemania 34 is THE WORST!
34 deserves way way more hate nothing has brought me closer to giving wrestling up than that ending after everything when the crowd spent a half hour doing anything besides reacting to Brock Vs Roman 8823 Brock Wins ohhhhhh all of my hate.
WrestleMania 27 & WrestleMania 32 was the Two Worst WrestleManias I ever watched 😭
All we learned from this TLC is no one can stand michael cole
i agree to all of the list specially mania 32, man i remember how boring hunter vs blank, we sleep at that match
36 is a good mania but I’d probably cry if I rewatched it
I don’t think 36 should be on here.. YES most of us WONT go back to watching it, but there was indeed a lot of good moments/matches…
I agree with Luke, NXT Takeover: Dallas really made me proud to be a wrestling fan. I was not aware of what I was going to witness in Wrestlemania 32.
For us drivers who love to listen to you guys chat wrestling and absolutely love TLC. Could you guys say your picks please 🙏🏼 great content. Love you all. 😍
Same boat, and definitely, definitely, definitely this.
Like there's actually almost nothing good here.
sad we won't be able to watch this years wrestlemaina with you guys in person!
The one big plus of 36 is giving us the two-night Mania, which is still the best production change WWE has made in decades.

wm 30 is surprising. so is 35 to a lesser extent (my guess for your reasoning is that its too long)
@@justinwalker6320 30 was average for an anniversary WrestleMania, & then everything regarding the Lesnar/Undertaker match went down completely overshadowed the entire thing with the possible exception of the main event & Daniel Bryan getting his moment.
35 was not only too long but it was on pace to be a perfect WrestleMania... & then 5 out of the last 6 matches were either train wrecks or had the wrong person win.
@@Ultimate23Dragon I see where you're coming from. Brock did not need the victory over taker at all and 35 is quite long. But for me they have too much stuff i enjoy to put them as top 10 worst. I'd personally swap em out with wm 13, 33, 8, 25, or 29. Overall u have a good list tho
As a New Englander I can confirm, Hartford Connecticut sucks.
Surprisingly enough, Wrestlemania 32 is one of my favourite Wrestlemanias
Wrestlamania IX is the worst where Hulk Hogan defeated Yokozuna in an unscheduled match where the bell didn't even ring in 30 seconds
