Tell me what resistance should be on the sensors, how to check the coil?

How did you get the flywheel off? I have removed the rope pulley and the big nut on top of the flywheel and it seems to be holding resistance from something. Even with a gear puller it is not budging.

larry morgan I got some new parts from eBay. They can be hard to find. Search for Honda BF 8a parts it’s the newer model but the parts fit.

Lloyd Hansard the Honda 8a is basically the same motor. I boat a part for it on EBay. Search for Honda 8a parts and you'll have more selection.

Did you by any chance use ngk D5HS spark plug instead of DR5HS?
I have two of these outboards and I came into a bunch of D5HS spark plugs. I used them in both. The stator died in one, the CDI died in the other. They've run for years and only when I used the wrong spark plug did these problems happen.

Ed Loki mine has d5hs in it. And no spark. Is this a problem?

I just found out from honda repair shop that I shouldn't use D5HS on my 1985 outboard. If your outboard says you should use DR5HS, you should use that one. In the long run, the D5HS killed my CDI and stator.

Ed Loki I ordered a set of those. Thanks.

Yes, but it should still spark even if you use the D5HS. If its not sparking anymore, replacing it with DR5HS will do nothing until you fix CDI or stator.

Honda stopped making bf75 and bf100 in 1985.
    get your facts together.
Color blue Hondas were last made in 1985
