Awesome vid! This is exactly my problem when throwing! I just dont think I get my hips into it, but I'll drill the hell out of it and get this thing down pat! Keep up the vids!
I don't mean to be a butthead but I've seen so many of these training videos that just talk, talk, talk and never really put all the moves together. Then, I came across THIS video for the PC360 bands ( ruclips.net/video/CXCV8S9sU8A/видео.html ) and the athlete demonstrating the hip twist never says a word but it just clicked in my head how to do that hip twist. NOW, I understand that the power comes from the legs and how. NOW, I can see how you transition from facing the back of the ring to turning to the direction of throw and why the hip twist makes that happen. NOW, I see how you straighten the blocking leg which allows the right side of the body to go around the left leg. It's a SIMULTANEOUS ACTION. Before, all these movements were individual actions that I had to memorize and put together somehow. All taught to me without a word spoken.
Hello coach i have a little problem whit the revers in the end .When i throw and do the revers i land on my fingers and not to my hill. What should i do?
i just subscribed to your website, im having issues with my release, i would push it out my neck keeping my elbow up however the final "flick" out of my hand is slightly too late, how could i fixx this? are there any drills that could get my final flick on time?
I had the same problem for a while, I also play basketball so what I did was relate the flick of the basketball to the flick of the Shot put ball. Try some shots with a basketball, then with the shot put ball. Hope I helped.
can you make a video that might be able to help me. This is my 3rd year in track and I always through the shot like a softball. Is there anyway I can fix this? My coach is having me not throw my left arm and only using my abs.
Madison Jackson Release drills every day before you get in the circle. 30-50 releases focusing on keeping the elbow up and pushing the shot instead of throwing it. Don't focus on throwing hard, focus on proper technique.
