I think "Whammer Jammer" is the greatest harmonica jam EVER!!!!!!!!!!!
Somewhere here on YT is a vid of Magic Dick bustin into Whammer Jammer in a cafe. Somebody recognized him... so he pulls out the harp and just lays it down! Quite a talent
I'll bet that there are a few ladies out there who figured out that Magic Dick is actually a euphemism for Magic Tongue.😊.

It's kind of cool that they aren't. The Hall Of Fame is kind of goofy.

From my lips to Gods ears I was 15 yrs old and went to a party in Howell MI on Sexton Road to some rich kids house his name was Mark Dempsey? The J. Geils band was playing on a hay wagon and it was one of the highlights of my lifetime with the greatest rock ‘n’ roll music ever. Then I saw Bob Seger at the Howell Armory and classic rock was never better!

Seen them 6 times me and my buddy's and love them to this day
Also a all harmonica show in a small church with 6 guys headlined by Mr Magic Dick and his licking stick in Yakima Washington and Magic Dick talked and signed shirts for us in the lobby after the show he was still bigger than life it was fantastic
They had a huge following around Detroit in those days

Absolutely my favorite band of all time. The energy in the house was fantastic, these guys brought it every gig. Made Loud to Play Loud.
Mine too. When I saw them for the first time in '75 I was completely blown away. Best live band ever!

After a show he did in Minneapolis he stopped in the Radisson South Lunge for drinks, it was Peter the Magic Harmonica dude, and others from the band but not Jay Geils. They were really cool with us at the bar.
All I have to say, "World Series Of Rock"... Cleveland, Ohio...

Saw them at The Paradiso in Amsterdam in 1979. They blew the roof off the place!
I saw these guys in a theater in Philly. Toots Hibbert opened for them. To this day it was the best show I have ever seen. I was in the front row.

@@jsamc We're talking about their value as front men for their respective bands, not the bands themselves. I've never seen anyone with the energy Wolf had in his prime.
Oh please. Funny thing is I saw J Geils band open for the Rolling Stones in Oct of 1981. Wolf is no doubt great but is not Mick still doing it at age 79? Plus Mick has been going at it since 1962.

I grew up on J Giels Band.
I had the privilege to see them in concert 4 times. Always awesome.
Peter Wolfe and Dirty Dick on his lick’n stick my hats off. Their keyboards and drums, killer.
