Considering upgrade from a 2600 to the 5600x and in the same breath from a 2060S to a 4060ti 16gb. That way I don't need to get a new MB and I can keep my 550W PSU. This video helped a lot, as the 3070 seems to be in the same ballpak as the 4060ti, just with way higher energy consumption.

I am just waiting for Ryzen 5 9600X to launch so I can upgrade from a Ryzen 5 3600 to Ryzen 5 5600X for my RTX 3070. Until then I will upgrade my ram to 32GB or Move from SSD/HDD to fully NVME rig.
Did you have lag spikes on 2600 before upgrading ? i am on rx 6600 and ryxen 5 2600 and i have some spikes is it my cpu (waiting rx 6700 xt sold 6600 cause i am still on pcie 3 and 6600 is only x8 lane? or can it be my psu its 550w bronze corsair
Don't worry about the 8x lane, there's been some tests and it surprisingly doesn't change a lot, however the 2600 struggles with low core speed. Aside from the cache size the core speed seems to house the performance differences when it comes to gaming and CPU bottleneck. Contrary to common belief, ryzen 7 or even 9 don't add much as the core count doesn't matter compared to single core speed. So generally speaking, having 6-8 cores is fine, but if the speed is too low, you'll see your games stutter, caused by fps drops and freezes. Regarding you PSU of 550W, it's possibly your 6700xt will run on it but it's definitely close to it's limit. System crashes while fully powered at max performance are quite a bit more dangerous than a cold crash at low wattages.
I was having framedrops in dota 2 with my 2600 (120fps dropping to 70fps in low settings) Upgraded to 5600x and framedrops are gone. (Stable 140+ fps with minimal dips to 120fps) Using rtx3060 btw
@@NorthTechPCand the performance delta decreases, so to at least see what the actual difference is like between the two CPUs he should put everything at the lowest settings possible

I just upgraded from the 2600 to the 5600x, paired with a EVGA gtx 1080 sc and the frame difference is almost double in most games.
I've got the 1080ti, do you happen to play rust?
im also looking to do this same upgrade from my 2600 since its also bottlenecking my 1660ti
Did you do anything to tune the cpu? I swapped to the 5600x and there is no different in performance in every game I've tried

Se nota el cuello de botella pero pensé que habían mayores diferencias.
I just got a Rx 5700xt but realized my frames were still not consistently high enough to match my 165hz display, thinking of getting a 5600.
i have the gtx 1060 3gb+16 gb di ram+ ryzer 2600
