His name is Khalid Alghamdi & he is bending his knee to balance his vision on line of the shot from standing position to targeting a cue ball. So basicly head should land like a airplane on landing strip. Besides, his left leg is paralel to cue. Take care & have fun ;)

I will fix his name. Thank you. Good information. Very impressed with Khalid. Looking forward to more top-level play from him!

i'm also a very thin player who has to stand very angled with my body and right foot. My right foot points like 90° to my shooting line, so my hip shifts to the left very much
I copied this stance with the straight left leg and i am much more stable, my game took a step forward after this, it's easier to reproduce for me

Interesting, txs for pointing this out.
I'm nearly 2m myself but this is not for me. His hips are very twisted at an angle to the shot line. Too much strain, prefer a more relaxed stand.
Personally i come from a snooker background, so backleg straight, on the shotline, foot at an angle of 45degrees, and the front leg bend, foot parallel to the shotline.
This is how i started playing pool and wondering about my team mates that play with both knees bend, looks less stable to me but yet they are better...
Anyway, over the years i went in the other direction, what definetely works best for me at the pool table is a more parallel stand, both feet parallel and both to either side of the to shotline, front leg bend, back leg straight.
PS. How does Khalid stand when his body is close to the table?

You can watch the match and see his stances when closer to the table. You have worked out what is best for you - congratulations! That puts you far ahead of most pool players.
