  • We got around to dropping the subframe out of my 1991 bmw e30 325i. We are working on removing the trailing arms, brake caliper and rotors, along with any other lines that connect to the rear subframe.
I showed the new reinforced subframe, the bushings we will be using and any other parts we will need for the refresh.

Nice episode Nabeel. I would recommend painting the suspension components chassis black. Also, you may find the poly subframe and RTA bushings squeak when the chassis flexes. For this reason, I prefer the OEM rubber bushings. Finally, it is good that you replaced your rear subframe and RTA now as good ones may be much harder to come by in the future as all of these parts are now NLA from BMW.

Thanks! Any reason I should go black over a bright color or just preference? I heard if you add a tad bit of lube on the bushings it stops a lot of, if not all the squeaking so gonna try that and see. As for the rear subframe and RTA, that’s a great callout. I didn’t even think of that
