  • A prosecutor says five people have been charged in connection with Matthew Perry's death from a ketamine overdose last year, including the actor's assistant and two doctors.
    U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada announced the charges Thursday, saying the doctors supplied Perry with a large amount of ketamine and even wondered in a text message how much the former “Friends” star would be willing to pay.
    “These defendants took advantage of Mr. Perry’s addiction issues to enrich themselves. They knew what they were doing was wrong," Estrada said.

    The reason this is such a big deal is because Perry was specifically targeted and conspired against by an organized ring of medical professionals and assistants - I don't understand how people don't get this. They broke the ethical rules and laws of medicine, and they broke trust of the patient to exploit, feed and fuel his disease for profit and they caused his death. The doctors and assistants had close intimate ties to Perry, they had access to his home and life, knowledge of his wealth and addictions, vulnerabilities and weaknesses and they were supposed to care for him and prevent death. They knew he was "spiraling out of control" by their own e-mails yet continued to conspire and feed him and profiting - this wasn't just "drug dealing", this was a conspiracy to financially exploit, abuse and destroy their victim. This is a whole other level of evil inside the medical professions that must be exposed and put to serious investigations and oversight.

    Imagine if they went after all dealers like this and not just high profile cases. In my city people are dying from CUT stuff, not their own irresponsibility like Mathew Perry, but dealers are rarely arrested and when they are they’re out in less than 5 years. You could end the war on drugs if you took it seriously.

      yeah then we'd have the consequences of a war on drugs... oh wait..

    • @selah71
      @selah71 27 дней назад

      The "war on drugs" never works. Throwing addicts in jail doesn't work.
      Instead, there's a need for free treatment centers funded by taxpayers. Its a helluva lot cheaper than jail/prison, frees up court dockets and actually helps.
      Addiction is inherited. If you have an ancestor who was an alcoholic then you have a 50% chance of becoming one. If they were addicted to heroin, cocaine, etc, your chances increase.
      My hope is that one day CRISPR technology isolates the gene in individuals and eventually eliminates this disease.
      Until then addicts need help. Not degraded and treated "less than" by society.
      My heart goes out to Matthew's family. Ketamine does help users under controlled environments, such as treatment centers, but those people used him.
      May his loved ones be comforted.

They certainly dont do an extensive investigation like this every time an addict dies . That is wrong and disgusting , his death isnt any more important than any other addict death is . The only time it's ok to administer is when it's cops telling an EMT to administer it for control of a suspect. Look up Elija Wood. Or in Colorado where it's used so often and has taken the life of several suspects in custody. The city council had to do an investigation into the over use of it at the request of an officer.

But everytime I visited pain clinic so many patients were lined up get katamine IV. It's like a factory. If it work for someone it will get hook easily. RIP Matthew.

      That is exactly what I was thinking . He had the money and access to go to rehab and he did several times he also had the money and access to buy drugs from at least 2 doctors and pay numerous people , including those doctors , large amounts of money to get drugs . Average people and average addicts do not have the money or access to go to rehab or to help even once let alone numerous times nor do they have the money or access to buy clean drugs from numerous doctors , they have no choice but buying drugs on the street that are made in street drug labs and filled with numerous fillers and poisons and Fentanyl . They certainly dont do an extensive investigation like this every time an addict dies . That is wrong and disgusting , his death isnt any more important than any other addict death is . His addiction is no different than anyone else's . Treating him and his addiction and his death any differently or like it matters more is wrong and disgusting .
