A little bit of a fun fact about the "O" in this stage. Originally, the letter was placed on the spot where the W-Tank now resides a bit after the second checkpoint. Down the line, some time late in development, the position of the "O" eventually changed to the spot that we see it now. I don't know how long the letter was at the place where the W-Tank is now or if it was placed anywhere else before the change as I came into the playtesting team about a month before release to help with the last bit of major bug checking/fine-tuning the game. Can't say I like the letter in this stage being completely hidden from view even if I expected that as soon I saw that the waterfall didn't force you down mid-jump, meaning they were solely for obscuring things. At least it's on something optional I guess. More troubling are the collisons boxes on the back half of the whale given how easily you slipped off it onto the tail and the fact that Polar Woman's large snowball looked like it was freezing through invincibility frames. The latter is especially bad when it seems like you stay frozen enough to get two more times by someone who already hits like a truck. At least this isn't the type of fan game where the spikes she generates are instant death on top of everything else. Yeah, polar woman's stage is clearly intended for Roll. Its probably the worst offender (that i can recall anyway) of a stage being biased to one character. Yet....later on...all bets are off man this game gets HARD lol Im also not sure how megaman is supposed to deal with those spikes. Roll its not even a thought, Megaman the few times i dodged it felt like a lucky coincidence not an intentional move.
@@Arko777777 To be fair, the pixels are extremely small and hard to see if you don't have your face pressed right up against the screen. I walked past it several times, combing the area and not seeing anything there, because the tell is so small and behind a moving sprite. It doesn't help that the rest of that sequence is teaching you that the waterfalls are hiding death and that you need to keep moving, and that if you try to investigate the waterfall at the end, you fall into a pit and are sent back several minutes since the checkpoints in this game are spaced really far apart.
Gorebyss. As far as I know, Polar Woman's stage is the only Robot Master stage in the game you can keep coming back to to farm extra lives, since the one in the ice isn't programmed to go away once you get it like the rest of them in the game. Thank goodness for developer oversights!
I just got Megaman Zero Collection on the Switch. All 6 games are on the cardridge, no extra download required FINALY! The remastered cinematic ZX cutcene now look like clean anime. Not the compressed crap that we had on the DS. Now we just need a Megaman Fan Game Collection for the Switch.
and for those who say megaman still deal more damage with the charge than Roll than look no further than at 15:42 the boss invincibility frame is so short that you can mash to do insane dps
The first time I played Polar Woman Stage I died like a lot, but once you get used to it's not so bad. Polar Woman Itself is hard but however it's by far my favorite robot master fight, for me her deadly combo is the chill spike followed by her snow balls, if you get hit cobsider yourself dead... but it's exciting trying to avoid all of that, you feel great when you beat her. Also congratulations for finding the O letter behind the waterfall, I had to watch a LP to find it. Loving the series so far !
Mario 2 seems like a good idea for the future. Mega man shares weapons. So it’s not a MegaMari or Xtreme2 situation. Polar woman knows the typical dodging methods and punished you hard. Clever AI.
Well that answers my question from the previous video, nice. I mean, I'm probably gonna still do a Roll run unless something explicitly calls for the Charge shot, but nice to know that the duo share weapons.
Another great video Roahm. Glad to see you doing another megaman fan game. I'm just going to guess that the snow ball is good against the one in the desert get-up. Can't exactly protect from the cold when you're so exposed to protect yourself from the heat.
Yikes, that letter... I don't know how others say regarding it, but I'll say that it's a really cheap placement. While others give nice mini challenges, it's just hidden behind a random waterfall. I had a hard time finding it and ended up watching the walkthrough. Ugh. Man, fighting Robot Master that isn't Missile Man with buster is surely a hard thing because they does a tons of damage. (Of course Missile Man do hit like a truck as well, but at least his pattern is pretty easy to learn) Man, you won't know how much I was surprised when I saw a damage input. But aside from that, I admit that this game is pretty challenging. Snow Roller is not only a useful utility but a powerful weapon as well. If you freeze a big eye with it, it will die even with a few busters. Man, you're really lucky to get good weapons.
Super Mario Advance was one of my first games, so yeah. Took forever for me to figure out how to beat the first Birdo, though. I am not one for experimentation...
OH, whew. I was glad to see it wasn't like megamari- annnnd you mentioned that as I typed it. Heh. I am a little disappointed to see that the stages are pretty much the same for each character to play through (no alternate letters depending on character? I could be wrong though), but i do like that they each simplify one of the two aspects. Roll seemingly makes the platforming easier, Rock seemingly makes the combat easier, and it shows, especially with things like the mets and those whales, or the claw grabber things. Which. Isn't the worst way to make them distinct and interesting. It also makes it more accessible, I feel- what i wouldn't give for roll's double jump in MM1 guts man's stage, for example (bloody dropping platforms...) Anyways, looking forward to seeing part 4!
Also, funny enough, I also did Polar Woman immediately after Missile Man, though in my case, they were third and fourth rather than first and second. I even made the same comparison with the whales and SMB2.
Polar Woman is my favorite robot master in this game. 1:01 - Bladers combined with icy terrain, yikes. 1:13 - 1:30 - I started hearing Super Mario 2's level theme in my mind.
I think the only thing this game really needs is some way to freshen up the stages for repeat playthroughs to keep it new and exciting after dying to the bosses so many times. Kind of like the Virus Altered levels in MMX6. But that's just me.
It's weird, watching this playthrough whose only experience with Mega Man was watching Slimkirby's first few games back when they were new (so, five-six years ago) and not knowing where "Mega Man difficulty" ends and "fan hack additional difficulty" begins. This stage looked a lot tamer, but ice physics are probably the major thing.
I leaned back in my chair at the exact same moment I heard a cat meow. I panicked and looked around before I realized that I'm in a dorm building, and I don't have any of my cats in here with me, they're at home with my family. Took me a few confused moments to figure out that it was the video.
Cute design aside, Polar Woman is unfortunately not one of the better bosses in my opinion. After numerous attempts, I still could not parse her actions and had to resort to weaknesses to beat her. Her ice spike attack is nigh unreadable, it's hard to lead the ice hearts, and the snowballs are awkward to dodge on their own, worse when other attacks commence before they're gone. Her charge and jump is the easiest to figure out but if you're still working on the previous attack it's often very in the way. I like the stage, though, with the except of Bootleg Blader. The ice blocks are used in some creative ways that I did not expect. Also, this is the stage I mentioned in the previous comment (hey, it came up nice and quick!), and why the letter indicator was so important. I did not find the letter in this stage. I GOT the letter in this stage, but I never actually realized it! I think I got hit into it so the sound effect got drowned out, but I was completely flummoxed and decided I would have to come back to the stage later...only to see on the screen that I actually got it! Cue confused Nidoking.
1:36 If you do, play the GBA version, because it has more stuff to collect. 3:13 I'm pretty sure it is. 5:30 _Mip!_ Walking missile designed for war: Tricky but not too bad. Ice skater designed for cute: REKT!
@@RoahmMythril To be fair most Megaman bosses, even well into the X series, were generally designed to be dodged by a jump of some sort... though I bet Roll in this game could get away with double jumping over, maybe.
Good thing that I used Roll in this stage so I could just double jump over her and keep relying on that habit ;) Also I've noticed that the Robot Masters in this game are quite brutal mainly due to how fast their patterns are.
Really enjoying MegaMan Zero/ZX Legacy. Starting with ZX. I know that you always get requests to play X, but if you've tried them (Zero/ZX) or why exactly you like/dislike about it? Love honest to good opinions. Play whatever you want.
I've never actually played any of the ZX games, so I have no opinion there. I played the first three Zero games, I remember finding Zero's sword moveset fun, but I don't think I ever really connected with the series the way I did Classic or Battle Network.
@@RoahmMythril ZX is kinda like Kirby and the Amazing MegaMan. It's like a Metroidvania Mega-Maze but it has missions, it's weird. Only played a few minutes. It's got PlayStation style cutscenes and impressive for DS. It has the edginess of X, but more well-rounded charming designs like the original. Really a mish mash. Advent may be different, there is no boss select, but I think later you might have more options. It starts linear and you get more freedom of choice.
Furealz Luckilynx It also helps that ZX is definitely far more light-hearted than the X and Zero series. That’s not to say it’s as carefree as Classic is most of the times but it’s certainly more akin to it when it comes to some of the side quests and dialogue. Definitely nowhere near as much doom and gloom as there is in this series, and the audio dramas reflect this (Zero has just the one sort of comedic/heartwarming audio drama. ZX has about three of them out of four or five).
@@Rexaura888 Not only that I played about an hour now. The main character can be male or female, they have a heart of gold (less edgy, you're right). Also the robots are kinda cute like original MegaMan. There's a giraffe that made me giggle. I think Roahm may do a let's play. I don't see why not a lot of people thought about it. It doesn't break the X rule, but people only hear about it and never play it. Glad it's getting a second chance on current gen consoles. As much as I like him playing original MegaMan, variety helps when it's he's been on RUclips for so long. It was also refreshing when he played 10, 11 when they were new/blind. What I meant to say edgy, as in a good way (more involved story, no cartoony Wily taking over the world kinda plot).
Why is there a Gameboy frozen in Ice? A Easter Egg I Don't Believe It! Anyway, This Stage is Alright But Boy Polar Woman lot tougher then Tundra Man was. Can't help that she does lot damage then Dune Woman did Both of them got me Easy!
Very Tundra Man... but WAY tougher. Roll might have been a better choice for this one to clear her when she jumps. Cat is never impressed. Not even when you stop recording to go feed them.
Theres now the megaman zero legacy collection on steam wich has all four megaman zero games and the ds games (or whatever those were called). And i hope one day the same happens for the battle network and starforce games aswell. Although you likely dont have access to steam.
my least favorite enemies in this game are the ones they brought back from mega man 1. the big eyes are way too damage spongey, the bladers are only a little better than they were in the original, and the footholders... why?
they're definitely handled better in this game than they were in mega man 1, but theyre still not that fun to deal with. particularly that one big eye in front of polar woman's boss door with no way to go under it- mash the shoot button fast or else take damage, i guess! and if you go too far back it just respawns! and yeah the footholders are better, but they still have no tell for when they're gonna shoot. it's still a mess. i think it would have been better if they didn't shoot and the challenge was based on avoiding aerial enemies.
Beetle Lady > Dune Woman > Missile Man > Tide Man > Drake Man > Polar Woman Also, Reactor Man is weak to Missile Man's weapon, and Ghost Woman is weak to Reactor Man's. I don't remember who Polar Woman's is effective against.
@@zapkido2830 Why would you spoil this man a weakness chain? Let the guy figure it out himself, instead of giving him the satisfaction of not having to learn, when the game wants you to learn every aspect.
@@MegaVile2004 Because they can look it up anyways. Let them have their fun the way they want to play it, and you have your fun the way you want to have it.
Which version of SMB2: the JPN verson (which was thought 'too hard' for Americans), or the English version (a non-Mario game repackaged to be a Mario game)?
I can already see a problem with this game: the bosses do too much damage, especially contact damage. That seems to be a running issue with fangames, it's very hard to balance the difficulty just right, cause what may seem simple to you might be too hard for someone else. Also, about Polar Woman herself, that Not-Chill Spike moves come out way too fast and covers too big an area given how easy it is to get combo'd by it. Maybe if the projectiles came out at the same speed as Chill Man's actual Chill Spike and the spikes themselves covered about the same area, or maybe if she could only use it when there are no other of her own projectile on screen, it might've been a little more fair.
Shade Knight I mean compare that to the contact damage done by just about everything in MM4. Not that it necessarily justifies what’s done here but, it’s not just fan games.
I tried it with NumLock both on and off, so I'm not sure what the issue there could be. Unless the option somehow turned itself back off / didn't save properly.
I think you could probably get over the boss with Roll's double jump. It feels like besides the charge shot there is no reason to play Mega Man. It's a bit of a shame that you have free choice to be either for all bosses rather than each of them getting 4 dedicated bosses. Since the levels have to be beatable with both characters that means there can't be Roll specific levels which focus on the double jump mechanic. I wonder if the allies thing is gonna be like the Rock Force where you can play as those robot masters, or if they're just an assist like Beat. Or maybe they can be used in specific places like in the Wily stages of Rock Force where they opened walls and stuff.

Im also not sure how megaman is supposed to deal with those spikes. Roll its not even a thought, Megaman the few times i dodged it felt like a lucky coincidence not an intentional move.
6:46 at least are life is full now.
“Gets hit by first enemy he took out easily.”
Oh Roahm
3:10 Is that a frozen Game Boy in the top left corner?
It is
Ok, so it wasn’t just me who noticed that.
Watching you play made me think to myself how scarce the item drops are in this game.
tbh it's no different than any other MM game. Roahm just happens to not be getting many.
That letter took me absolutely forever on my first run. So naturally you find it immediately, lol.
lol i was like why is that platform there and just walk into it
Seriously, how would ANYONE know it was there?! It took me so damn long to find it! There could've been a clue or something!
@@JNewsted1988 It peeks just a little bit outside waterfall for you to see a yellow line of pixels.
@@zapkido2830 Yeah, fair enough.
Now we just need a Megaman Fan Game Collection for the Switch.
alfasilverblade Personally I’d like to see Legends 1 and 2 come to Switch. They are the last in the overall Mega Man timeline after all.
@@Rexaura888 Id like them to finish Legend 3 and release it with 1 and 2. I would pay full AAA retail price for that.
Really awesome boss fights for going in blind and not knowing their weaknesses.
Oh, just in case you didn't figure it out later, I'm pretty sure the number weapon keys arre the ones on the top row, not the numpad.
Always the cute ones that are extremely dangerous in a fight.
and for those who say megaman still deal more damage with the charge than Roll than look no further than at 15:42 the boss invincibility frame is so short that you can mash to do insane dps
I'm always impressed with your dedication and persistence. I would have given up and tried another stage rather than repeating it again.
I wonder if you were inspiration for Drake Man. Both of you look quite similar.
Clever AI.
The hitboxes on the whales are actually sloped so you can slide down it. One of the many nice touches and attention to detail in this game.
These bosses are almost as challenging as Mega Man 11's bosses :O
Holy hell!
And I love Polar Woman :D
I love the silence at 10:30.
Seems like the tougher RMs in this game preside over the simpler stages.
Also, funny enough, I also did Polar Woman immediately after Missile Man, though in my case, they were third and fourth rather than first and second. I even made the same comparison with the whales and SMB2.
That arcade bunny quip made me laugh louder than it probably should have.
Polar Woman is my favorite robot master in this game.
1:01 - Bladers combined with icy terrain, yikes.
1:13 - 1:30 - I started hearing Super Mario 2's level theme in my mind.
Part of this stage theme reminded me of Soak Man's from SFR lol
id love to see you play mario 2 would be lots of fun
Funny to say, I don't have any memory for the weakness of this game.
Edit : Super Mario Bros 2/ Super Mario USA is also my childhood game.
Beetle > Dune > Missile > Tide > Drake > Polar > Reactor > Ghost
We all bow down to the whims of our cat overlords.
Polar Woman: cute, but can (and will) beat you up if you don’t have her weakness
I think the only thing this game really needs is some way to freshen up the stages for repeat playthroughs to keep it new and exciting after dying to the bosses so many times. Kind of like the Virus Altered levels in MMX6. But that's just me.
Would love a playthorugh of Super mario bros 2! Also a fond childhood game of mine... though that was on the GBA through Super Mario Advance :)
It's weird, watching this playthrough whose only experience with Mega Man was watching Slimkirby's first few games back when they were new (so, five-six years ago) and not knowing where "Mega Man difficulty" ends and "fan hack additional difficulty" begins. This stage looked a lot tamer, but ice physics are probably the major thing.
oof that boss was no joke! lot's to dodge, lotta damage, and freezing hazard!
Do you ever go back to check that spot in Missile Man's stage with the ledge covered by clouds? Is it anything important? Like the Allies?
Is it just me or does the game have no enemy drops?
I leaned back in my chair at the exact same moment I heard a cat meow. I panicked and looked around before I realized that I'm in a dorm building, and I don't have any of my cats in here with me, they're at home with my family. Took me a few confused moments to figure out that it was the video.
Just now discovering your channel! Love it, definitely subbed!
Ahhh, if only you had a talking sign to tell you to "SLIDE! SLIDE!"
Polar Woman reminds me of Ice Man from : Fully Charged, but cuter and better.
again roll prove to be useful here because your double jump can save you from jumping into her and she avoid the spike much easier
I just watched part 2, then I get back at RUclips home screen and this pop up? Good. XD
At this rate, we may as well have Megaman fight all of the women, and Roll fight all of the men!
1:36 If you do, play the GBA version, because it has more stuff to collect.
3:13 I'm pretty sure it is.
5:30 _Mip!_
Walking missile designed for war: Tricky but not too bad.
Ice skater designed for cute: REKT!
What does the GBA version add actually?
@@eratinuwu1952 Ace coins, and Yoshi eggs (after beating the game.)

Oh, past Roahm. Jumping face first into the robot master repeatedly despite already knowing you need to slide. :^)
Old habits die hard, haha. Muscle memory is a curse sometimes.
@@RoahmMythril To be fair most Megaman bosses, even well into the X series, were generally designed to be dodged by a jump of some sort... though I bet Roll in this game could get away with double jumping over, maybe.
Oof. That's brutal if all the robot masters hit like trucks...
Their damage output was based on the robot masters of MM4.
@@Airhammer Ah, I see. It's been a while since I played Mega Man 4
Good thing that I used Roll in this stage so I could just double jump over her and keep relying on that habit ;)
Also I've noticed that the Robot Masters in this game are quite brutal mainly due to how fast their patterns are.
Roahm, is it just force of habit that you dont charge your buster?
Or maybe you just like shooting lemons. idk :3
Honestly I tend to just prefer rapid firing, I generally find it more fun for the most part. Just personal preference.
If numpad weapon select isn't working make sure numlock is off
Roahm would be like: ME WANT SHINIES!!!!!!
She is much harder than Chill man ! You need to stay close to her.
Why is there a Gameboy frozen in Ice?
A Easter Egg I Don't Believe It!
Anyway, This Stage is Alright But Boy Polar Woman lot tougher then Tundra Man was.
Can't help that she does lot damage then Dune Woman did Both of them got me Easy!
i loved this game, but i felt like it used a little too much insta death on the levels.
Very Tundra Man... but WAY tougher. Roll might have been a better choice for this one to clear her when she jumps.
Cat is never impressed. Not even when you stop recording to go feed them.
Roahm, are you, by chance, a fan of Enya?
Sometimes, yes.
or maybe the one exploding enemy from megaman 11?
Theres now the megaman zero legacy collection on steam wich has all four megaman zero games and the ds games (or whatever those were called). And i hope one day the same happens for the battle network and starforce games aswell. Although you likely dont have access to steam.
Hampus Ragnar It is on Switch y’know.
my least favorite enemies in this game are the ones they brought back from mega man 1.
the big eyes are way too damage spongey, the bladers are only a little better than they were in the original, and the footholders... why?
The original Big Eyes had far more HP. Honestly I can't stand Bladers. The Footholders actually work correctly unlike their original counterparts.
they're definitely handled better in this game than they were in mega man 1, but theyre still not that fun to deal with. particularly that one big eye in front of polar woman's boss door with no way to go under it- mash the shoot button fast or else take damage, i guess!
and if you go too far back it just respawns!
and yeah the footholders are better, but they still have no tell for when they're gonna shoot. it's still a mess. i think it would have been better if they didn't shoot and the challenge was based on avoiding aerial enemies.
Nimble little minx, ain't she?
Not sure if you've found out by now, but you *can* jump over her. A bit difficult, but doable.
i know how you feel about cat feeding my cat will kill me if she dont get morning canned food even thoe dry food dish is full
ugh, well if the creator does any updates on this game that would one thing he could fix, the damage output bosses do.
Worth noting that Roahm was playing with Mega here. If he was playing with Roll, that'd be another point of damage per hit.
@@MOORE4U2 That's a bit shortsighted. Roll can easily jump over Polar, so it doesn't really matter how much damage she does NOT take.

The robot masters wiping you in 5 hits wouldn't be as big of an issue if it wasn't for limited lives.
Looks like a cinnamon roll, could actually kill you.
FInally!
Numpad not working is probably NumLock related
It's not the Numpad, it's the regular number keys that switch weapons.
I tried it with NumLock both on and off, so I'm not sure what the issue there could be. Unless the option somehow turned itself back off / didn't save properly.
Ohhh, I misread that then, oops.
@@DennisEngelhard Hey, it's you! The guy! Loved your game. Hope you're doin well
Rock is megaman
Roll is ??
Megawoman? Ultra Lady? Supergirl? Actually i think that last one is taken XD
Bugger Count still at Zero.
