Prayer for you & loved ones dear, remember He is Your Faithful Provider & Constant Companion who comforts you. Thank you & Aaron for your selfless service to our country. ❤️
I said something similar to a family member of mine. I'll help whoever I can as long as you are making an effort to help yourself. We all need help sometimes. God bless you and your family.
Hi, keep strong and wish you and your family all the best, you will get through all the problems😘love watching your channel and will always support your channel ❤️❤️
It is a huge transition retiring from the military. My husband too was discharged with multiple medical conditions and injuries after 30 years service. If you have planned, saved and stocked up, you will make it! It took nearly 3 months for his pension to kick in but fortunately we had pre-paid most of our bills for several months and had some savings. The biggest transition was your whole identity changes from being a military family to being civilian. You will make it to the other side with your positivity. There are lots of people out there who understand what you are going through and will be thinking of you ❤❤❤. My almond flour gets stored in the freezer for longer storage. I store about 1.5 pounds in the fridge for everyday use.
Thank you so much. Yes that’s the kicker- the “I belonged to something now I don’t”. It’s very emotional. All of it really. The whole career, everything, without a support system- it’s been a whirlwind and one I thought I would share more about… I found folks like food more than dramatic military rollercoaster life. Plus OPSEC ya know. 🥹 We’ll get there. One step at a time. 🌺🌻🌻🌺
Is it just me or is there something so satisfying about having a good amount of food to put away and preserve... I will be praying for your transition; just remember, you'll be following the path God has intended for you! 💚
Always happy to keep your family in prayer. You share So much to your viewers and I know your heart is filled with Jesus therefore I know that you’ll all be prosperous and safe And happy !!
Namaste is my favorite gluten free flour I'm so glad it's becoming easier to find, we used to only be able to get it on Amazon 😂 I've used it for years as an exact replacement for regular all purpose and always have great luck from yeasted goods to cakes and cookies
@@RowesRising I've tried it for bread an liked the results. I'm not so intolerant that I can't have sourdough so I do that mostly now, but in the past Namaste has made good bread for me.
Awe I had to quit sourdough for me. And it was making my hands blister and peeel so I stopped touching wet dough when I bake for the kids. I don’t know if the skin eczema is from the gluten but it’s calmed down since I quit kneading by hand. 🌻🌻
Hi Katie, great video. I love your well stocked, organized freezer. Y'all are going to be fine. I'm so proud of you and Aaron. Y'all are amazing people and parents. I appreciate Aaron's service and your support of him all these years. Love yo the family.

I store my unopened bags of almond flour in the freezer (i buy 2 at a time) then once opened i store in the refrigerator. If i dont have one open when i buy them and im gonna use it within 30 days i leave it in the pantry.
I store mine the same way. I have never had it go rancid. I love almond flour in Paleo pancakes. Sometimes I add tapioca flour to them for a consistency closer to a traditional pancake. They're delicious. I always add applesauce, mashed banana or pumpkin puree as part of my liquid.
Lord, please cover Aaron, Katie and the kids with your love and comfort. When they feel worried, let them feel your peace. When they feel doubt, let them feel your strength. When they need direction, give them your wisdom. When they feel alone, wash over them with your presence. Amen.
Hi Katie…I am praying and thinking of you all! Even though I am not an American citizen I want to thank Aaron for his service… You guys are amazing and there are better days coming….the sun always comes after the rain is gone! Love you guys ❤
My husband was laid off 3 times. It was tough but we made it. Your both young and resilient and determined. You will make it. Just the next chapter in your life. Wish you all the best. You have a beautiful family!! PS. would love to see some of your camping trip.
I know you like organic chicken; we do to. But when the price of organic whole chickens priced out of our budget, we started buying the rotisserie chickens at our Sam's Club. At $4.95 each, I let the organic thing go. We could stock our freezer with 4 whole chickens for the price of one organic chicken. I still keep the bones and skin for broth. Just an option when the budget gets really tight. Trying to squeeze a quarter to get another nickel. Another RUclipsr said something similar.
That’s a great suggestion!! I think I will check those out. I haven’t bought one in years. They used to be $6-7 here. Definitely worth it to debone and make a large batch of broth and freeze the shredded chicken for meals. I’ve taken these past comfortable years for granted and now it’s really time to pinch. Lots of budgeting needs to be done. Thank you!! 🌻🌺🌻🌺🌻

Great video and thank you for sharing what you do. I'm one who usually comments but I feel you! When you said you were 90 days out i lost my breath for a second because we're about 8 months out from my husband retiring from the military(20years) and as much as i can't wait for us to be free I also am nervous about the big change and have so many mixed emotions and anxieties. So youre definitely not alone there! HUGS! ❤️ I can't remember how i found your channel but i think i was trying to find military homestead life type channels. Not very many out there and i understand why. Its hard to do both. Most military spouses on my path that I've met aren't the homesteading type. Some even say a dog is too much work and think preppers are crazy. But I know like minded ones like us are out there. They just havent really been in my path. LOL We were really lucky to be stationed in the PNW(by family) for 16 years but now we are 1500 miles away in the literal desert. We hate it here. Anyway my question to you and other military spouses(idk if you would/could make a video on if you were in this situation cuz you kind of are) how would you guys be doing things differently if your husband was retiring far from where you want to live after he gets out? Certain foods the movers say they won't move. Home canning takes a lot of time and effort to just break in a move or be exposed to high temps. We don't keep a big freezer but will when we get out. We paid off our debt except for our house back home that we are renting out while we are gone. We got a freeze dryer so we're learning that and trying to figure out what do we want to try and store a lot of that way. We got that since the food would be lighter than canned food. I do plan to can again after we get out. Our home in PNW is in a HOA neighborhood so we can't go crazy with farm animals. The plan hopefully is to move to a place we can grow our food once my husband gets settled in his next job which also is a big mystery still so that unkonwn gives me so much anxiety! So if we were retiring where our last duty station is, i would be doing exactly what you're doing but knowing we're moving makes it harder. I especially feel for those moving overseas! So I would appreciate your input!❤️ We are planning on using up 90days of his leave to leave this place to move from the desert back home 90 days before his actual retirement date so we will be getting paid during that time at least. I'm hoping and praying there won't be too long of a gap before retirement pay kicks in. Sane for you guys too! 🙏❤️
That’s a really great plan to use leave for house hunting. They should grant him 20 days for house hunting as well? We have 3 years to move- the military will move us within the continental US within 3 years as long as we file the appropriate paperwork. They can also store our house hold goods for up to a year. Our plan is to stay here a year while he re-trains for a new career path. Then we’ll sell and have our stuff packed and stored while we take time to travel and find new roots (full time rv for a bit maybe?). Then when we buy land/house we’ll have them send our stuff there. Now/ this is if it all get approved along the process. I had started using it all my food stores. And I will use as much home canned goods as I can in the next year so they just pack empty jars. As far as freezer food goes we just try to use all that up. Our family is 2k miles away and has been at least that far. We had wanted to move back east but I think we have just left the future to unfold itself and we’ll see where careers land us in the next two years. Fortunately my husband has some work lined up and the VA has a program for disable veterans to retrain so he’s going to take full advantage of that and then the GI bill he has. My anxiety has been horrid these past 3 years and my cortisol is in the pits so coping right now has it’s challenges 🥴 Thank your family for serving. 🌻
First, a huge thank you to both you and Aaron for your service and sacrifices to our country. I hope that the transition goes smoothly and your new life is all you hope for it to be. If anyone can overcome the challenge ahead, it is certainly you! How long is hunting season there? Here it begins in September and ends in January. Archery and muzzle load first then regular season. We have used up almost all from last year. In fact, over the past couple of weeks I canned venison chili, Sloppy Joe, and ground venison vegetable soup. Also have a few jars of venison tips that I canned. I am hopeful to fill our freezer again this hunting season. Have a great weekend!

Oh that’s good to know! Yes unscented everything around here. We buy laundry detergent and dish soaps etc in bulk from azure- all fragrance/scent free 😅
@RowesRising I made the mistake of buying those scented ones and opened the box and shared with a friend. Well, drive home and instant migraine. Drove them right back to her and said, you can have theses, I'll make sure to always look for unscented ones from now on. Since I have turned 50, I cannot stand any scent but lemon.
I really wish you could make a long trip east to us come March. See where you can downsize, eg; cell phone service, cable, internet, auto insurance, house insurance, heating, electric, subscriptions. I'm sure you've already thought of all this. I've had to downsize numerous times and it sucks, but, I found what I could live without was ok. You and Aaron got this! Always remember to put God first and he'll be there in your time of need. I'm a faithful member of your channel and I think your channel is a very good one Katie.
Thank you for the reminder Sharon. We have been frugal but there are always more ways to cut corners. I’m headed out to forage this evening. Thank you for the encouraging words. 🌻🌻🌻🌻
Yikes, what do you plan on doing when your partner loses his job?
He will be training for a new career. He’s being medically retired so there is disability VA income. It’s a shame it’s not a living wage for all he’s sacrificed and given to this country. He can still work- just not in the military. We have known this was coming for 3 years so we have been preparing and getting our ducks in a row. The future is uncertain but we will be okay. 🌻🌻🌻🌻🌻
