Hiya Steve! Ooh you can't beat a nice hot cup of nostalgia! Glad to remind you of those earlier Tamiya days! ☺ I must admit that I'm really enjoying this classic build. All the best my mate! 👍
Hi there Mark, I just love the Subaru Brat. I just love how Tamiya have you open all the bags and have you diving into each parts bag, engrossing you into the build immediately from step 1. If I could build another all over again, it’ll be oh yes, and twice on Sunday 😂😂😂great build steps, enjoyed the recap and listening to you build the steps. Best wishes and have a great weekend to you all 😊😊
Hi there John! Yes it really is a lovely, iconic Tamiya, isn't it? I could build it all over again, too, it's just an engrossing process and thoroughly enjoyable. Not looking forward to the bodies though, lots of detailing to be done! Thanks for the comment and continued support my friend. Always a pleasure! Cheers! 🙏😊👍

Hi Jeremy, absolutely, who doesn't love an ORV kit? Many thanks for the kind words and support my friend. Yeah, I see that these Brat kits are out of stock most everywhere, looks like more stock in the autumn though. All the best and I hope your weekend is going well too! 😉🤞👍
Love a MB Classic build series 😎 Nice work as always chap! The ORV chassis really is a thing of it’s time and a fun build. Can’t wait to see what you do with the bodies pal 👍🏻🙌🏻
Many thanks again Brams! Great to hear about your Frankenstein ORV - I actually did a monster Beetle one like you are doing! I hope it's going well, it's a great project for sure!
Hi Mark! This is a very interesting chassis, as usual well engineered. So many little parts but it comes together nicely. The front suspension is nice and beefy. The Subaru Brat body is going to look great on this chassis and will definitely film well. Glad I found some time to watch this build. Take care👍🏾
Hi Paul! Agreed, an unusual chassis, but also very "Tamiya"! As most of their kits, this is a pleasure to assemble. Those radius arms on the front arms really do add a bit of strength. The hard body is wonderfully detailed but I think I'll mostly be running the supplied Lexan body most of the time! I'm glad you found the time too, my friend. Always appreciated here, Bro!
A little tip when you install the uprights... Put some blue thread lock on the 4 screws that attach them. I've had 2 fall out never to be seen again. After thread lock they're all secure and haven't fallen out..
Hi and many thanks for the great tip, you just might have saved me losing those kingpins! Yeah, I've had many parts fall off my RC's in the past, they seem to disappear into thin air, don't they?!?!?! Cheers!
Just found your channel, look forward to going through all of your back catalogue! I worked in a model shop as my first ever job back in 2008. One of my tasks was to build the demonstrators and I remember when the ORV was first re-released (Frog, followed by Brat). I absolutely hated the build process, at the time not appreciating how old the design was - it just seemed unnecessarily complicated when I was used to more modern stuff. I vividly remember building the wheels, they're an absolute nightmare!
Hi Chris! Glad you found the channel, welcome aboard! Oh yes, it sure is a fiddly build compared to modern stuff, but I actually enjoy building these older kits! Cool that you worked in a model shop, I'd love that job nowadays. Yes, I just built the wheels, and they are truly a pain in the proverbial! Cheers!
