  • Sorry for the shoddy camera work. Didn't plan to make a video on this, but after an hour of frustration I finally found the two long bolts that were holding this dinosaur in. Most of the instructional videos only show two bolts on the top that need to be removed, but these older models tend to have some extra work involved. I've seen a few with some tabs you have to bend, and others with a little pulley. Hopefully this saves someone out there a bit of frustration! 👍

Thank you, this was exactly the tip I needed to remove my 2006 Frigidaire microwave! Same two bolts/screwns on the front, behind the vent trim. There were NO screws that went into the cabinet above the microwave.

That is the model of my Whirlpool! I thought those were adjusting screws. Great video, but I was able to repair mine with a new high voltage capacitor. Thanks for the info!

Thank you. I was having problem removing my old Whirlpool OTR microwave after removing the top 2 bolts. I'll try this tonight and hope it will work.

Thank you! Mine didn’t have the bolts, but I removed the top vent and found a trigger I had to pull that connected to the mounting plate.

I really hope you're replacing it with a range hood preferably above 500 cfm's

Negative. We went with over the range microwave ventilation. We have an electric stove, mainly use it to boil water, we fry very infrequently, and have limited counter space. So far so good.
