Stockholm is an amazing city and this was another video guide that took more than a week to produce.
Please help me out by sharing this video where you can! It’s so disheartening to work so hard for so few views, and all you’re trying to do is help the world to see these places.
Good karma is much appreciated!
EDIT (24.07.2023) - I've been reliably informed that the Nobel Prizes are awarded at the Concert Hall, not City Hall - and AVICII Arena is not named for sponsorship reasons.
You make the best travel guides. Bravo. Thanks for putting all this effort into making them.
I appreciate that! I do work hard putting all this together, so thanks for commenting so. 🙂
Glad I found your channel…so much helpful information! I’ve already saved several of your other videos for my planned Scandinavian/Baltic trip in July
Thank you
Ah fantastic! I did Scandinavia in July and the weather was mostly perfect (as you see in my videos). Not too hot, not too cold, it's a nice atmosphere.
I'm happy that my videos help you plan your trip.
If you can, be sure to share my videos on your socials so that they help other people.
But in the meantime: enjoy your vacation!
I just arrived from there and WHAT A CITY ❤ I fell in love with it
Yes, I agree. What a city! Very walkable and full of culture.
Another comprehensive travel guide Ninh, far better than the tv travel shows.
Appreciate you stopping by Jason :)
Amazing. A capital city with no skyscrapers. Bravo, Sweden !
Yes indeed. Stockholm managed to retain it's history without over constructing glass and concrete skyscrapers that blight most other cities.
Incredibly helpful in planning my trip, thank you!
You're welcome! I'm happy this helps you plan your trip.
Be sure to share this video if you've found it helpful 🙂
Thanks so much for this instructive video. I’m planning to visit Stockholm and Copenhaghen for the first time next month and the videos you made are all
extremely helpful for me. Already subcribed the channel!
Ah amazing! I'm happy that my videos help you plan your trip.
If you can, be sure to share my videos on your socials so that they help other people.
But in the meantime: enjoy your holiday!
Another amazing video Ninh. I always leave my like before the video starts because I know it will be class. Cheers
Wow, I appreciate that 🙂
Thanks very much for your continued support and for tuning into my channel 👍
Thanks for the video, we are heading to Stockholm tomorrow so this has been great to help plan out the next few days!

One of my favorite travel channels ever 👏🏻
Thanks Mohamed!

Fabulous video. Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it - and if you're visiting Stockholm, you'll have an amazing time :)
Sotckholm looks amazing
Nice informative video. Thank you, you’ve earned a like.
Thank you, much appreciated!
Nice video on a great city - well done.
Many thanks! Appreciate the kind comments.
Thanks for this video tour in Stockholm 😊
Thanks for stopping by!
Your video was great and timely for us. Cruising there the beginning of an
June. Thanks again. ❤❤❤

Nice video, thanks!
Thanks very much, I'm happy you enjoyed this video 🙂
Thank you for such a practical video! I am planning my trip to Stockholm, and some of the insights were particularly useful for that.
Thank you very much, I hope this helps you plan your next trip.
Enjoy Stockholm!
Excellant video presentation. Very clear guidance. Awesome . ❤
You're welcome, I'm happy that this video helps you out!
Your videos are great. Feel like I’ve been there.
Thanks very much. Yes, that's the idea - I try and make sure you know how to get around and what to expect, so that there's no nasty surprises and you can focus on having the time of your life at these places.
I love this beautiful video! I still most likely never be able to visit these places, so a video is the next best thing. I got interested in Sweden, because I'm an ABBA fan, lol!
One day, you will! I hope you do, because Stockholm is a beautiful city!
Great video❤
Thank very much!
This is better than anything on the Travel Channel, etc..
I appreciate you saying so!
very well done. great explanations, great level of detail. i would try to add recommended restaurants. Thats always a challenge finding good food spots. thanks
Thanks very much. Honestly: Stockholm is full of good eateries, and you'll actually struggle to find a bad one.
Just got back from Stockholm - seems like an ideal place .As he says, got to go at least once !
Absolutely! It's really a nice place and yes, you have to go at least once in your life 😉
As a Swede and Stockholmer.. I have to say that the price for the Arlanda Express is shamefully high..
Yes, I totally agree with you. Considering you can get a normal bus for 1/10th of the cost, it's very high.
That said, it's also very convenient and I think that's what you're paying for.
Agreed. I think 180-240SEK is enough.
Imagine if the price of the Arlanda Express was the same price as trains here in the U.S.? I believe the U.S economy would be booming.
The city of Stockholm is pristine. Definitely a bucket list.
I drive a Swedish vehicle to and from work. Yes indeed, the Volvo. It's a 2000 S70. The miles are high but it's running good. The Swedes know well about vehicle manufacturing. 223K miles is proof. I have 2 favorite ABBA songs. Dancing Queen and Knowing me, knowing you.
good video thanks
You're welcome, glad you enjoyed it 😊
REally interesting city Stockholm, I'll go there next month!
Cool - I think you'll have an amazing time here!
Hope this video helps? Be sure to share this video where you can 🙂
2:18 The 39 SEK is a commuter bus to Märsta and there change to train to Stockholm City.
3:13 The ticket machine for local transport is closing down.
Yes
Beautiful country and people
Yes, I agree!
Thank you for a lovely tour of Stockholm!
It was mostly accurate, but there are a few things I'd like to correct:
1. Drottningholm Palace is the all-year-round main residence of the King and Queen of Sweden.
2. The Nobel Prize is not handed out in the Stockholm City Hall but in The Stockholm Concert Hall. The City Hall and specifically the mentioned Blue Hall is hosting the Nobel Prize banquet.
3. Globen (Avicii Arena) is not the largest concert venue (capacity 16000), next to it is Tele 2 Arena (capacity 31000) and outside of the city centre is Friends Arena (capacity 65000)
4. If you're not just into museums and/or sights, Södermalm is definitely worth a visit, it is one of the most vibrants parts of town when it comes to boutique shopping, restaurants and bars.
Thanks for your comment.
1) I didn't actually know that.
2) I did know that, but got the details wrong when doing the voiceover.
3) I was referring to the largest indoor concert venue. Obviously an outdoor stadium would host much more.
4) Whilst I did mention shops, restaurants and bars - I found it to be lacking in actual attractions, hence why I mentioned that particular phrase.
Thanks again for your input.
Thank you, really enjoyed it. Anne looked so much nicer without her hair in a beehive! Petty I know but it just struck me so much. Real faces to put with people 🙏🙏👵🇦🇺
Absolutely! Thanks very much for stopping by, be sure to check out my channel for more like this :)
Very nice 👍 I will definitely follow this itinerary. Did you book your museum tickets ahead of time?
Hi Marie. I didn't book in advance, but I found using the Stockholm GoCity Pass gets you without having to wait anyway.
The only things I had to have a timed ticket for is The Royal Palace, the Abba Museum and the boat ride to Drottingingholm Palace.
Every other attraction I virtually just walked straight in. Hope that helps?
Great channel! So informative! Is there are link for videos you mentioned such as the full video of Drottningholm Palace, the Royal Palace in Stockholm and those in Copenhagen? I've looked through your channel, but have yet to locate them. Tah!
Hi, thanks again for your kind comments.
I have yet to make those particular videos (massive backlog of editing that I need to do!), but you'll see those videos pop up on my channel sometime in the future.
The fame of the Vasa is amusing to me - given it never actually did any 'ship' thing (except sink, of course, very very soon after launching). Great video. Thanks.
Yes exactly! The Vasa literally sank on it's first outing. Thanks very much for stopping by :)
Similar ships before and after Wasa did though, hence it's historical relevance.
2:36 There is also a tram you can take from Bromma Airport
Yes, that's correct. Thanks for your input!
❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks! 😀
Hello Ninh! Now, I have been to Stockholm before. Twice. I’ve basically been to Djurgården, to visit Skansen, the viking museum, and Junibacken, which is a memorial museum to one of Sweden’s best authors: Astrid Lindgren. And the thing about Globen is that the reason it’s called the Avicii Arena is that it was done to pay tribute to the late Swedish DJ Avicii, who commited suicide in April 2018. BTW, after the Scandinavia videos, do you plan on doing the Baltic countries next?
Yes, a native Swede pointed out that the AVICII Arena is not named for sponsorship reasons.
And my next videos are Helsinki, Tallinn, Riga and Oslo - but not necessarily in that order.
These things take forever to make.
Very beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤👍👍👍👍👍👍💙💙💙💙💙
Thank you! Much appreciated! :)
15:02 As Swedish often put the definite article at the end, kastell+et = the kastell, so "the Kastellet" is therefore a bit like saying "the the castle". (Kastell, slott, borg, palats are all variants of castles.)
Well obviously when you combine words from two different languages, there's always going to be some inaccuracy.
@@UltimateBucketList Indeed, but some of us are language nerds (not so few actually). The type that enjoys talking about differences and similarities between closely related languages, like Swedish and English.
Have you done Glasgow yet? Sheffield would be cool too.
I've been to these cities many times, but sadly - I don't think there's anything that would warrant me making an actual video about them.
Birger Jarlesgatan in Ostermalm deserves a mention as well.
I don't believe I ever went there ... looks nice though, thanks for the pointers.
@@UltimateBucketList Yeah Östermalm is a must visit area of the city too. Now you have a reason to come back ;)
I see you going around the Nordic countries. Are you going to do a guide about Oslo and Helsinki?
Yes I am! I've got the footage, but they take ages to cut into videos.
They'll appear on my channel soon enough.
Be sure to help me out by sharing this!
Ninh, I’m disappointed you didn’t go round IKEA while in Sweden 😄😄😄😄
@@christopherjordan4812 that would be like going to a KFC in Kentucky ... which would be no different to every other KFC in the world.
@@UltimateBucketList Sorry Ninh it was meant as a light hearted joke . I agree no matter where you go in the world city's you are no more than 10 miles from a store!. Very informative video thanks, keep up the quality content.
@@christopherjordan4812 yeah I know it was a joke. Sadly, someone actually disliked the video because I didn't mention Ikea. Thanks for commenting :)
Hi dear, we will be going in July, how many days do you recommend for a first time visit?
Thank you very much for watching this video.
To answer your question: I'd recommend 3 or 4 days to do absolutely everything in terms of attractions.
Go for 5 days if you want to take your time.
You could spend a week here if you enjoy spending afternoons exploring greenspaces and parks.
Hope that helps?
Except for the airport section, an interesting city.
The airport section is to let people know how to get into the city centre, as it's a source of stress for many travellers.
@@UltimateBucketList Good.
fantastic video i allways wanted to go to sweden fun fact waterloo by abba was won in brighton in 1974 evean though uk did not win the 1973 contest
Thanks Stuart, it's definitely worth visiting if you get the chance.
And as an ABBA fan, yes I knew they won the ESC in Brighton even though the UK didn't win the previous one. Just like they hosted it this year without winning.
The south is where all the hip bars are, so if you want to go out and socialize with Stockholmers, I would recommend it.
I believe you are correct, yes.
26:26 No longer a summer residence. it is the permanent residence of the King and Queen. It was our current king who felt, for the sake of their children, to be more around nature and more private than in the middle of Stockholm Castle. So Stochlom Castle is solely the workplace of the King, Queen, Crown Princess & her husband Prince Daniel
Are there public toilets? If so what is the cost and how do you pay since you noted no cash. Thank you!
Hi, yes there are public toilets and most of them are free of charge (unlike Riga that charges you to pee!).
Places do still take cash as payment, but they prefer you to pay by card.
Hope that helps?
Very beautiful City... a pity there's no picture outside of the Vasa Museet architecture, neither a visit to August Strindberg's😢 Museet.
There's a lot of museums that I unfortunately didn't get around to seeing on my short trip to Stockholm. Maybe next time.
Did you do this in 1 or 2 days... or more?
I think I did everything in about 3 days. You could do it in two if you only wanted to see a few things.
Anyone watching this video need to listen to Möt mig i gamla stan by Magnus Carlsson, a banger about the guy doing anything to get to his beloved in Gamla stan.
I almost thought that was the chess player for a second, then realised that the names are spelled differently.
@@UltimateBucketList Ah, nice
can you do a bergen city guide
The next time I'm in Bergen, sure.
Don't feel bad mate, I dance to Abba on occasion as well
They're just so good!
Adore ABBA. Dancing Queen forever.
Royal Navy uniform? 6:55
The uniforms are very similar, yes.
But where is that girl from the miniature???
An excellent video but I was sorry you were so dismissive about Sodermalm. I once had a nice holiday there and whilst it is not so scenic, compared to elsewhere in the city, it does have other merits. Not least of all the people, who are far more friendly than some of those in the city. In fact, I soon found out that the people in Sodermalm felt that residents from the more monied parts, snobbishly looked down their noses at them. Whereas I found people in Sodermalm to be far more open and down to earth! Perhaps though, this will be of little interest to the casual visitor, who might not be aware or care about such differences but I have always found that it's the people of a country that can make or break a holiday!
Despite a division of class, Stockholm remains a great city, but I prefer and enjoy the city of Copenhagen Denmark, much more, where there is a good balance of places to see and a fun loving outgoing people to go with it!
Well, I have to report about my findings as I experienced them. Obviously if you experienced something different, I respect your opinion, but please note that respect works both ways. As for Copenhagen - I made a video guide about that too. Fabulous city!
What happened to all Copenhagen stuff?
I've not had time to edit the extra Copenhagen videos yet. They might take a while.
Watched a documentary about education, everyone speaking perfect English. I couldn't work out what part of UK it was. The education method seemed strange, turned out they were in Sweden.
Sounds about right. Everyone in Sweden does speak pretty much perfect English.
Can I get guide number, or travel agency in stockholm
You are showing a picture of Stockholm's biggest antagonist...Göteborg...why?
Where exactly?
@@UltimateBucketList 1:05 in you have skansen kronan a old defense tower in Gothenburg.
Love Sweden, its Blonde Beautifuls, and now having seen their Oh-So-Beautiful Stockholm, love Swedes even more.
Thank you Mr Ultimate Bucket List ! but please note, if we ever crossed paths in life, you would probably kick the bucket for the crime of calling ABBA songs 'cheesy''. On the day I'm feeling merciful, at the very least, expect some of your front teeth knocked back. (I 'm actually rather sensitive these days about why so many people around the world have so many teeth). Sweden I love you, expect to see me at all the places in this video someday soon.
Yes I agree with Stockholm and Swedes being amazing people in general.
The term 'cheesy music' is actually a good thing where I'm from, and if you checked out my channel, you'll realise I'm an ABBA fan too. However, if you feel the need to exact violence and threaten death to someone you perceive has a different opinion to your own - I strongly suggest you seek professional help on the matter.
European cities are beautiful
They certainly are. Especially this one - probably my favourite out of the Scandinavian capitals.
25:13 🎶I’ll be there for you…🎶
Sorry, couldn’t resist.
I think if Friends was still going, it'd probably be what most people think it is?
@@UltimateBucketList Well… It was mandatory for me to quote that song with a stadium name like that… lol!
Turists: "Ah the longest sitting swedish regent...and the silver decorated throne which he sits on..."
Swedes: "What did the king do this time?!"
😂
Oh and the king actually doesn't live at the royal palace. To intrude on his personal space...head out to Drottningholms slott and walk around his gardens and gaze upon his "house".
Yes I'm fully aware that the Kind doesn't really live at the Royal Palace, and I did cover Drottningholm Palace towards the end of the video.
11:50 I'm just an old man, but I still belive you would find more bars and clubs on Östermalm and Söder, perhaps even in Vasastan or Kungsholmen, than on central Norrmalm (which is also a pretty ugly area because of the socialists demolitions of cultural heritage in the 1950s, 60s and 70s).
Maybe, but I am correct in saying that there's not much in terms of attractions in Södermalm than there is in other parts of Stockholm, that was the main point.
@@UltimateBucketList Not sure how you mean here, but what's "correct" really depends on your taste and points of view! An attraction for mr A may be unattractive and boring for mr B, and vice versa.
1.08 into the video, thats not Stockholm. Its Gothenburg. Nice work. 🤦♂️
It’s as if someone asked chat gpt to make a video
I think one cursory look at the video and anyone would realise that ChatGPT had nothing to do with this.
I'd prefere that you have pronounced all swedish names in an english version. I am swedish and still would have wanted you to say "King's Garden" instead of Kungsträdgården... and so on.
I see your point, but that would probably make it confusing for the viewer if they ever get to Stockholm.
The attractions are named in Swedish, so it'd be unreasonable to expect a non-Swedish person to figure out what it is if I listed them in English.
At least if I listed the attractions in Swedish, they know what it's called and look for signs for them.
