So the reason I visited Bordeaux in March as opposed to the summer or harvest time is simply because it was my birthday! I just wanted something to do that wasn’t in England, and I’m glad I went. It was certainly an education and I recommend anyone who’s a wine lover (or just curious) to visit Bordeaux once in their lives. Let me know your thoughts in the comments section below! 😊
Ninh, what can I say…we’ve been sat here watching video after video on things to do and see in Bordeaux, we got fed up of boring videos with no information! You were completely honest, straight to the point and very informative! We’ve absolutely loved your video and have actually booked our flights after watching this! You’re amazing and I look forward to watching more! ❤
Hi Naheed, wow thank you very much for your kind comments. 😀 Yes, I try and inspire people to go to these places by making it easy, straightforward and fun. I don’t fill my videos with AI robot-rubbish or point the camera at myself for 90% of the video (like every other 'travel guide' out there). I think you’ll have an amazing time exploring the city (which you'll find super easy to walk around) and doing some fantastic winery tours. It’s a beautiful part of the world! 😍 Be sure to share this video on your social media if you’ve found it helpful, but in the meantime: enjoy your trip to Bordeaux! ✈🍷🙂
I appreciate that! I agree, these videos should be getting more views than they are. It's heartbreaking at times, but comments like these keep me going!
Hey, French Bordelais here. Now the tram A is available at the airport, do not use the bus and even less the 30min Airport / Train Station bus (too expensive for nothing)

I recently went to Bordeaux and visited St Emilion! I can say that everything on the video is 100% correct. If you go at the end of May, you will have the water in the fountains for sure and green grape land 😊. It's a lovely place to visit !
It really is! I was so surprised when I went out there - the friendly people, the nice weather, the amazing food, the beautiful countryside ... everything! Hopefully you get to go back one day :)

Hi there. Love your video. We arrived this afternoon in Bordeaux and after we settled in our hotel room, went out for a walk. Managed to see / walk by most of the sites you mentioned in less than 2 hours.
Thank you very much! Yes, Bordeaux is a very compact city and most of the things that are worth doing won't take you all that long. I do recommend spending some time at La Cite du Vin and going to the Bordeaux tourism office and arranging a wine tour. I think you're going to have an amazing time out there. Enjoy! 😃

One thing he did leave out and I know he can’t put everything in here about his trip to Bordeaux. I recently returned from there, and if you’re a foodie, their farmers markets are unbelievable. They have one of the oldest farmers markets in the country I believe started back in the 1700s and then they have a new modern farmers market by the river, which is just also as phenomenal. Also, I did enjoy your video.
The markets were nice, but I didn't think they were anything special or unique. And thanks! It's one of the more fun city breaks that I did throughout my channel.
Yes absolutely! I visited quite a few when I was there. - Le Havane, it's right around the corner from Bordeaux Cathedral, really easy to find. - Tabac du Centre, located inside Meriadeck Shopping Centre. - Le fumerais de Bordeaux - specialist shop down the street from the Opera House. With these three, they're literally a 6 minute walk away from each other. The selection isn't massive, but the prices are good. The only other place I went to is: - Tabac Presse, if you cross over the Pont de Pierre Bridge, it's immediately to your left. Not great selection, but they were the cheapest smokes in town. Hope that helps?
Quite surprised you did not include Bassins des Luminieres. (Submarine base). And surprised it isn’t right near the top of your list. It is remarkable!! Especially with the immersive exhibition of art that they project. I highly commend it!
Most fountains in France would be shut down in winter, because, well... water freezes. And since the author visited Bordeaux in March, it makes sense there was no water.
Great video, thanks for posting it. My father was born in Bordeaux but not sure if I still have any relatives there. Do you think Bordeaux would make a good retirement destination? BTW, @ the 4:48 mark in the video when you were at the Place de la Victoire there were some people in orange jackets that looked like they were either going to confront you or help you. sometime it's hard to figure out which till it's too late. What where they about?
Thanks very much. Bordeaux is quiet enough, so it'd make a decent retirement place. The guys in the orange jackets were just people trying to get you to donate to some charity of some kind? Nothing to be worried about.
L’entrecote is a great restaurant if you like steak! You cannot book (hence the queue) and there is no menu, starter is a walnut salad, and the main is steak (thinly sliced, best ordered rare or at most medium rare) and chips with an amazing buttery/herby sauce (secret menu) when you are served you may be dissatisfied with portion size but soon they bring a tray with more steak and sauce they will offer more chips. Small but good wine selection , and nice deserts if you can manage! They also have restaurants in Toulouse, Paris and Lyon (all excellent) and London (not managed to try them yet)…
OH WOW! I didn't know that?! If I'd have known, I probably would have joined the queue because I LOVE steak and fries! It sounds like my kind of place - thanks for the heads up! 😀
If you time it right you don't have to queue up too long... for example it opens at quarter to seven for the evening meal... if you queue from six thirty you are guarenteed to get a seat because very few french people eat that early ! When they open the doors they seat LOADS of people at once
Hi Ninh, i just came across your video researching wine tours in the Bordeaux region. I'm curious how much did you pay for your wine tour and what was the company name that you booked with?
Hi, thanks for stopping by. I think it was €150, but you get three winery tours and tastings and a trip to Pomerol and Saint Emilion, so even though it was expensive, it was worth the money in my opinion. There isn't a company name - the Bordeaux Tourism Office arranges it for you. Just go inside and ask and they will give you a range of tours and prices. Hope that helps?
The tour I booked at the Tourism office included transport to and from the wineries, and they start and finish at the tourism office. It's the easiest way to see them.
Yes absolutely! I'm pretty sure I'll be going sometime this year, hopefully April/May, but if not, it'll be October when ice hockey season kicks back up.

Hi Holly. I visited on my birthday (3rd March). You might see the vineyards and flowers more in bloom at the end of April, but to really get the massive juicy grapes and the full winery experience, the end of summer and around harvest time is the best time to go.
