Thanks Matti - brilliant use of gimbal for shots. And yes, planning things out makes it a lot easier to get those great shots. All the best, Cheers Rick
Okay, thanks. I thought you might have gotten your hands on a pre-production model. And if that was the case it would have been interesting to hear your thoughts. ;) The release date is set to the second quarter of this year I think.
I’ve been subscribed for several months and I’m very glad I did. You have really helped me learn and stay motivated. Thanks for what you do to teach and inspire us all.
Hi Matti, 1) Ive seen a lot of people who have gimbals using the dual grip handle. How effective do you think these are? 2) In using a gimbal myself (I have the Zhiyun Crane 2 personally) I notice how easy it was for me to overestimate how good the gimbal is, and that being as steady as you can even behind the gimbal is still really important. Would you agree? 3) How do you deal with changing settings on a fly when your camera is on a gimbal?
Sorry if this is slightly off topic, but HOW ON EARTH do you not capture the autofocus noise on the 6DII? Even with a Rode mic, I can't seem to escape the constant focus noise...
I think another tip is to go wide angle. I find that the movement allows you to put the focus on a specific subject/person, but the wide angle is powerful because it shows the environment that the subject is in. The movement and environment really help tell the story and make it dynamic. Let me know if you agree with this 6th tip!
Your videos are absolute amazing! You have inspired me to keep creating on my youtube and i hope i can inspire more people too! If your into travel/dope cinematic go check out my page!
just purchased my very first gimbal for my vlog project. This is so helpful man like youre the first tutorial ive watched. Imma take down notes on this.
Love the Moza Air, got it as well a few weeks ago. Btw, my Moza Air starts to tilt now and then, and I have to re-calibrate it through the app, and it works for a while, then I have to re-calibrate it again. Always balance it at home and on location. Really excited about the DJI Ronin S tho, what about you? :)
Aah, yeah I had the Crane v2 before, for one day, but it couldn't handle the weight from my Nikon D500 (or something) because it broke the first day. The motors gave up and I had to send it back. That's when I got the Moza Air instead and it has worked perfectly (except for the tilting)!
FEEDBACK: Hey Matti. Great advice, as always. What I loved about this video is that you gave us lots of examples. You are doing this more and it is SO much better. Appreciate the effort this takes. Showing us both good and bad footage helps more than anything I think. Already this year your videos have really stepped up. More humour. More examples. That chip packet on the lens. You are being more creative and it's awesome. Keep it up and you'll smash it this year. Exponential growth I reckon. Would like to see a bit more collabs with other RUclipsrs.
I'm deaf to most tech talk but there's something different about you. You're kind, down to earth, and I don't get a seizure from watching your videos. Thanks!
We don't have a gimbal yet, but we just use our drone for steady shots and these were really good tips. It's stuff like this that we don't know why we shoot like this or that, but it looks good. You said it all in this video HOW and WHY you should shoot like this is BECAUSE the footage will turn out awesome. *Good stuff MATTI!* -Thomas
Great video as always - simple, concise, and to the point. Quick Q - I'm in the market for a motorized gimbal for my 1Dx. Tried the Crane 2 and wasn't happy with how it worked with the cam (wasn't designed for the 1dx, i know). Any other similar 1/2 hand motorized gimbals at that price point you would recommend? Thanks!
Hi Matti - just in time! I'm off on a shoot tomorrow to try out similar shots. I only have a steadycam at the moment but most of the shot principles still apply. Thanks for showing me - I feel better equipped and encouraged to keep practicing. Have a good day!
Nice video! Do you have any videos where you do a review of the Moza Air and the settings via the Moza app? I bought a Moza Air back in December 2017 and here it is April 2018 and I am just not satisfied with the content I’m shooting while using this gimbal. I just recently learned I can change the follow and control speeds and make it so it’s easier to control. Do you shoot in All Lock mode mostly or do you use Yaw Follow? With your camera do you shoot in AF or manual when you are using the gimbal? I’m using a Sony a6500 with my Moza and I’m just not happy with the footage but it’s possible I don’t have the gimbal set up correctly.
How has Matti not at 1 million subs yet?!? It’s evident he works really hard at his channel and his content is top notch! I am currently watching back his older videos in 2020. Being a filmmaker on a zeroish budget I am shopping for secondhand gimbals that are a few years old. I literally live half a decade behind these guys... I am shooting on a Canon C100 mkii in 2020 and I love it :) Keep up the great work Matti! Scott UK 🇬🇧
Love all your vids matti... Such good content. Keep it up!!! How did you find the Moza compared to other Gimbals? I love mine, and find it has been overall really solid, just lacks some of the features of other gimbals.. Do you have any thoughts on this?
Which would you mostly prefer using. A one-handed gimbal or a dual-handed gimbal? Knowing every shot has a different occasion but which would you find yourself using more often. Thank you
Hey Matti. So glad you raised the point of planning your shots as I've been thinking about it since your brother mentioned it & I realised it's something I need to get way better at. I'd love to see you do a video on shot planning 101 & take us through your process. Thanks heaps!
Gorgeous shots dude! You've got the Ninja Walk down to a T! I did a scene where I was sprinting through a forest just in front of the actor, having to keep speed and still remain as smooth as possible, it was tricky!
Awesome, thanks for sharing these tips, one of my favorite gimbal shots is the parallaxing tilt up/down when I shoot events because it looks like I used a 10m slider to get this shot.
Subscribed to this channel because of this video. I’m shooting family and I want cinematic memories. This was the closest to a hands-on, behind the scenes, great technique ideas yet. Thank you :)
Hi cool video, you got my thumb up! I got question about camera focus setting, do I have to trust the camera to pick the object in focus or should I do it manually? Some cameras are good on auto setts, but some cams are too crazy on focus peaking
Excellent vid Matti! What kind of gimbal are you holding there around 4:43 and following footage? Also, did you have someone (assistant) guiding you from behind during that, or any other shots? Thanks for all your content. It's great!
Great tips! Matti, I think it would be cool if you did a tutorial on how you planned or pulled off the last one take with Alen. Like how you judge your distances and such to keep the composition together, while moving. I’m already a part of the 52% who subscribed so thanks for content!
Bro... love this video. Just would like to ask. If you're a wedding or event videographer, planning is a luxury which you might not always have, so how do you tackle this?
Great stuff Matti! I just came over from Peter, and spent the week (at work) watching all of your videos. It's been fun watching you get better and more comfortable in front of the camera! Cannot wait for more of it all! Cheers!
I've filmed my whole Malta Travel Video on my Moza Air Gimbal and I can tell...this thing saved my ass out there because it stays perfect stable although there was damn strong wind going on
Hey Matti, I have a shoot on Wednesday where I'll be using a Movi, so thanks for the tips! One question, what do you do about focus?? I'm guessing you use auto focus, I use a 5d mark iii and have never used auto focus in my life - not sure where to start and can you rely on it??
Hey Matti! Question, what F-stop are you shooting most of these at? I find it hard to keep focus while shooting those "oner" shots. Love your videos, I've been subbed for awhile now!
Yeah guys, stop wasting bandwith on this channel without subscribing! :D Matti and Peter are about the only channels that I hit the Like before the video starts! :)
I am so happy I subscribed. You are super helpful and intelligent. Its so amazing how people take the time to share their expertise to help others and join the same passionate community to tell stories and messages that matter.
Hi Matti!! Great video as always. Could you make a review video of MOZA Air? I've been saving money for gimbal, and now I'm considering between Zhiyun Crane Plus and MOZA Air.
Awesome tips! thank you. I got the same gimbal a few months back and found it surprisingly hard to master. Would you be able to explain what modes to use on a gimbal to get a certain shot? i seem to use mine in mainly the tilt lock but not entirely sure if I should be using different modes for a certain shot...
Thank you for the video and tips, they are much appreciated. Thanks to you, I'm getting a gimbal to improve my own content and step my video productions to more pro level. Love your style. keep it up!!
Lot of production value in these. I got a old fashion steadicam. But although I'm using a vest and arm it is still heavy and I still getting shaky footage. Is a lot of practice the answer or should I upgrade?
Hi Matt love the content. Not really related to the video but I notice a lot of the footage are filmed in slow motion. As you have mentioned in another video for slow motion is best filmed in 60fps and 24fps for normal shot. So my question during a shoot how will you decide when to use slow motion and when not to?
thanks for the video :) between the crane 2 and the new ronin S which one would you recommand ? (I' looking to invest in a gimbal as I tend to shake even when I try not to ^^)
Question Matti... I currently own a Glidecam X pro bud really want a gimbal for my GH4. Would you recommend buying the Moza Air right now or just wait a couple of months for the Ronin S? I use some heavy lenses ( 20-35 L and Canon broadcast zoom lens) so a high payload is very welcome. thx in advance for the advice!
Follow along on Instagram and Twitter if you guys want to see more! Links up in the description.
Please review the Canon 77D.... Btw love your content!!
Alright, you earned it. Take your sub. ;) Btw... Thoughts on the EVA-1?
*Cheers*

Thanks Matti - brilliant use of gimbal for shots. And yes, planning things out makes it a lot easier to get those great shots. All the best, Cheers Rick
You are the only big blogger who response to ur followers and viewers and I really appreciate for that.... thank you
I’m sure I’m not the oooonly one but I appreciate you guys 🙌🏻 thanks for being here
Only one with over 1/4 million subs- Thanks Matti!!
True!
People will start saying you arent replying to comments when you hit 1m subs and over even if you will haha. IT will happen soon!
TSHERINGSAM FILMS ☝🏻☝🏻☝🏻 yes it’s encouraging
Nice video as always. My biggest question regarding gimbals is how do you tackle focus?
Thanks for another great video. Any thoughts on the new gimble from DJI?
Haven’t tried it but I assume it’s good!
Okay, thanks. I thought you might have gotten your hands on a pre-production model. And if that was the case it would have been interesting to hear your thoughts. ;)

hi matti! great work as always. looks like a great slowmo ..is that on 6d mk2 60p? looks more than that
Sorry if this is slightly off topic, but HOW ON EARTH do you not capture the autofocus noise on the 6DII? Even with a Rode mic, I can't seem to escape the constant focus noise...

100% that was gonna be one of the tips but I feel like I'm always saying to use wide angle lenses haha
5 is a more catchy number anyway :)
TravelFeels How wide would you go? Which lens were you using in the shots?
Your videos are absolute amazing! You have inspired me to keep creating on my youtube and i hope i can inspire more people too! If your into travel/dope cinematic go check out my page!
Yes going wide also helps mask when you're gimbal is not balanced right and it starts to rumble a bit
Would you advise buying this gimbal? Any other recommendations in a similar price range?
just purchased my very first gimbal for my vlog project. This is so helpful man like youre the first tutorial ive watched. Imma take down notes on this.
Music and b-roll sooooo on point, man!!!!
Thanks so much Matti! Pure crispy content as always!
This was needed. Good one. The ninja walk is major. Takes a lot of practice.
Hah yea for sure. Luckily with a gimbal it’s not as crucial as it is with steadycams
Loving your tutorials brother! Always good to learn important things from someone that knows what hes saying! Keep rockin it!
Thanks so much man! 🙌🏻 so good to have you here
Love the Moza Air, got it as well a few weeks ago. Yea that happens with alllll the gimbals I find. Super annoying but the MOZA air was surprisingly good I think since I didn’t know much about it
Aah, yeah I had the Crane v2 before, for one day, but it couldn't handle the weight from my Nikon D500 (or something) because it broke the first day. The motors gave up and I had to send it back. That's when I got the Moza Air instead and it has worked perfectly (except for the tilting)!
Do the firmware updates, and re-calibrations... See if that helps. My Moza Air was acting a bit crazy, and this sorted it out for me...
This is one of the best short instructional videos I’ve ever watched. You are great! And I subscribed.
Buying a good gimbal is the next thing on my to buy list-for now though I will improvise! Great video as always :)
Awesome!
Madison Beach cool

Probably something like a ronin m or movi m5. Pricy tho
Beautiful. Very Helpful. Thanks!

Hey Matt! Really like your videos and tips! One question, in your opinion, gimbal or steadycam?
Thanks for the tips brother. Will try for some one-er's in my next video!
Great shots and tips as usual. Just wondering how much time and planning goes into each video you post?
How has Matti not at 1 million subs yet?!? It’s evident he works really hard at his channel and his content is top notch!

Thank you for these tips, perfect timing. My Moza Air should be arriving on Friday. Super excited to start using it.
Oh your gonna love it 🙌🏻
I just found out about this gimbal two days ago and was looking for a good video on RUclips. So nice to see you using it 😊
Love all your vids matti... Such good content. Keep it up!!! How did you find the Moza compared to other Gimbals? I love mine, and find it has been overall really solid, just lacks some of the features of other gimbals.. Do you have any thoughts on this?

Man, that stairs shot around 5:00 time was thr best. Thanks for the tips Matt.
Thank you!! 🙏🏻
@@mattih interested in what camera settings? Shutter speed, frame rate, f stop?
Hey Matti. So glad you raised the point of planning your shots as I've been thinking about it since your brother mentioned it & I realised it's something I need to get way better at. I'd love to see you do a video on shot planning 101 & take us through your process. Thanks heaps!

Sooo many cool shots you can do it’s awesome
Loved the tips man. Looking forward for you review with that Gimbal you're using.
Real slick one take shot at 4:44 - definitely something I haven’t done in a long time and plan to start working more on once my Ronin S arrives!!!
Thank you Mattih for this video. Did you get the chance to work with Zhyun Crane 2, which one would you recommend?
Subscribed to this channel because of this video. I’m shooting family and I want cinematic memories. This was the closest to a hands-on, behind the scenes, great technique ideas yet. Thank you :)
Hey man great video! Do you use AF or do you pre focus when shooting with a gimbal without follow focus?
Hi cool video, you got my thumb up! I got question about camera focus setting, do I have to trust the camera to pick the object in focus or should I do it manually? Some cameras are good on auto setts, but some cams are too crazy on focus peaking
This comes in time i just bought a gimbal 😀 thanks for that buddy!
Perfect 🙌🏻
Which one??
This video is still here when i bought a gimbal😂 thanks
Excellent vid Matti! What kind of gimbal are you holding there around 4:43 and following footage? Also, did you have someone (assistant) guiding you from behind during that, or any other shots? Thanks for all your content. It's great!
Awesome work Matti! I'm curious what lens did you use to shoot your b-rolls?
Great tips! Matti, I think it would be cool if you did a tutorial on how you planned or pulled off the last one take with Alen. Like how you judge your distances and such to keep the composition together, while moving. I’m already a part of the 52% who subscribed so thanks for content!
Definitely! And thanks for being a part of the channel
Bro... love this video. Just would like to ask. If you're a wedding or event videographer, planning is a luxury which you might not always have, so how do you tackle this?
Great video! it helps me a lot but which lens you use for gimbal shots?
Great tips as always, super helpful and has got me thinking of some new way to shoot with my gimbal - gonna be planning that one take shot!
Great stuff Matti! I just came over from Peter, and spent the week (at work) watching all of your videos. It's been fun watching you get better and more comfortable in front of the camera! Cannot wait for more of it all! Cheers!
Great shots of Toronto ! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise with gimbals 🙏🏽
Perfect timing Matti & awesome explanation! I'm receiving my Zhiyun crane v2 tomorrow ^^
Thanks man!
Great video Matti! Thanks for the suggestions - never used a gimbal, but thinking about getting one...!
I have a Zhiyun crane gimbal right now. Would you recommend getting the 2-handle attachment? Does it help with your movement/handling?
2 handle is great. Makes a huge difference in my opinion
I've filmed my whole Malta Travel Video on my Moza Air Gimbal and I can tell...this thing saved my ass out there because it stays perfect stable although there was damn strong wind going on
Yea gimbals are great with wind for sure!
First I thought the gimbal will never accomplish those strong winds....but...to my luck... I was wrong :P
Dude you are honestly one of the most likeable guys on RUclips! Love the videos!
Haha that’s super nice of you! Appreciate it 🙌🏻
TravelFeels A positive energy comes through hahahaha Keep it up bro!!!
The Narrator he really is
Haha and that's the nicest comment ever :)
F2.8! With canons autofocus as long as you keep your subject in the same spot on the frame it’s pretty good!
Makes sense! Thanks a ton!!
I had the same question! Thanks for the reply !!
Man I love gimbal shots, honestly it is what excites me most about Filmmaking
Yeah guys, stop wasting bandwith on this channel without subscribing! :D
Matti and Peter are about the only channels that I hit the Like before the video starts! :)
Haha amazing! Love this comment and love having people like you here! 🙌🏻
Right! Same here 😁
I didn’t eve know I wasn’t subscribed since I get all his videos on my recommended but I just subscribed
same
Thanks man, i love learning new things from u and pete you guys have been my digital tutor. Yours great fan from INDIA.. thanks once again
Thanks so much! 🙌🏻 all the way to India
I am so happy I subscribed. You are super helpful and intelligent. Its so amazing how people take the time to share their expertise to help others and join the same passionate community to tell stories and messages that matter.
Love these kinds of videos, thanks for always inspiring with awesome shots and tips
Thanks so much!
Thanks for another great video and some nice tips. Will definitely try some of these. And B-roll dope as usual. Thanks Matti
Great work buddy! I was your gimbal footage actually filmed on the 6D Mark ii?
Great vid! Do you have a recommendation for a cheap, beginner gimbal?
Totally depends on the camera! But if your a beginner film maker I’d go with one for a phone or the Osmo or something
Thanks man! Should have specified, I use a 70D and am looking for a gimbal for that
Have had the Moza Air for about 6 months and love it so far!!
Yea it’s great! Really enjoyed it actually
Hi Matti!! Great video as always. Could you make a review video of MOZA Air? I've been saving money for gimbal, and now I'm considering between Zhiyun Crane Plus and MOZA Air.
Wow matti, which is better for walking videos, gimbal or tripod
Great video, how did you like the Moza Air?
Great video Matti! I was wondering how you typically focus on your subject when you are using the gimbal? Thanks again!
What do you like more? A gimbal or a steadycam?
Thanks for the tips! I like it very much
What are your thoughts on the Mozza Air??
Matti your videos are the best! Thank you for all that you do!
hey matti. your thumbnails are always on point
Huge compliment thanks! This photo was taken by Alen but I’d like to take credit for finding the light 😂
The before and after shots are super-effective. Like they say-show, don't tell. Great video.
Just simply love your videos!! DON'T STOP.
Thanks so much 😊 means a lot 🙌🏻
OMG WHAT!!! Is this some kind of a dream or did you just reply to my comment. Omg!!!
Thank you for the video and tips, they are much appreciated. Thanks to you, I'm getting a gimbal to improve my own content and step my video productions to more pro level. Love your style. keep it up!!
good job, Which camera did you use for the shots?
travel feels is awesome thank you matti
Would you always keep your camera on af while doing gimbal shots, or does it depend?
I really love the explanation about the usage of Gimbal Matti. Thank you for the info!
Lot of production value in these. I got a old fashion steadicam. But although I'm using a vest and arm it is still heavy and I still getting shaky footage. Is a lot of practice the answer or should I upgrade?
Thanks matti for ur pro tip😍😍
As i am a new glidecam user, it helps me a lot 😊😊😊
Gotta love that glidecam
Hi Matt love the content. Not really related to the video but I notice a lot of the footage are filmed in slow motion. As you have mentioned in another video for slow motion is best filmed in 60fps and 24fps for normal shot. So my question during a shoot how will you decide when to use slow motion and when not to?
Perfect timing! I'm looking to get into my first gimbal soon, just holding out until I see what's the best on for my 80D.
Thanks. Are dual handles a must for smoother gimbals results?
About to get my gimbal soon! Mattie Apprecite this help man! Great job as always :D
thanks for the tips Matti! really appreciate all your videos and what you do
Super nice of you! Thanks for being here
my pleasure!
I learned a lot of this video, as always from your videos! You are inspirating so many people, including me! Awesome!
Thanks for watching 🙌🏻
hi matti, you said gimbals are fairly new, so I wonder what were people using before to get a smooth and stable moving shot?
thanks for the video :) between the crane 2 and the new ronin S which one would you recommand ? (I' looking to invest in a gimbal as I tend to shake even when I try not to ^^)
Hey Matti, what are your thoughts about the Ronin S coming out this year?
Haven’t seen it in person or used it so it’s hard to say. But I would be it’s pretty goood since they have other gimbal products already
Yes! So happy to see you using the moza!
You're awesome! Your videos just get better and better, so impressed by your stuff. Well done and thank you for your great advice!!
Thanks for all you do, also this video was dope
Thanks man 🙏🏻
