After driving the SEL, SEL activity awd, Night , and the SEL premium. I went with the SEL activity AWD. Personally didn’t need the turbo, not to mention the dct was a limiting factor for me. I hit traffic a lot and I plan on occasionally going to the beach, so the dct wouldn’t be the best for me. I average anywhere from 25 to 30 mpg with my heavy foot. Mine came with majority of the SEL premium features, which was a plus.

Sparse interior. I've looked around, and a base model maverick with 4 wheel drive for around $25,000 is the best value. It doesn't have the hybrid engine, but it's more dependable, and it still gets 30 MPG. The Santa Cruise is hard to sell because it's way overpriced. Subaru had the same problem with the Baja. It was overpriced. One of these car-maker pinheads should make a 2 seat sport truck with very few options, standard AWD, all electric, 150 miles range, heat/AC, radio, and a place to plug in my phone. Picture all weather commuter car with a motorcycle price. $15,000

We bought a 2023 Santa Cruz SEL in November. Love it BUT the passenger seat isn't electric. Since I'm 5'1" I have to sit on a cushion. The driver's seat is power, I think they should both be electric.
Another issue is there's no built-in compass. Tough for the directionally challenged LOL
One more issue, I have to buy an after market rear view mirror to link it with our garage door opener.
I still love ❤️ it and praying it lasts as long as our 2005 Jeep Liberty which currently has over 200,000mi plus has a compass and link to garage door opener (but no safety measures like the Hyundai).

If only they used the regular 8 spd auto trans on all the trims of the Santa Cruz. The dual clutch version is trouble. (And yes warranty would cover any issues but let's be real, do you really want to have a tech remove the motor and trans and stick a new one in? Its never put back together right. Im sure some techs will do a perfect job but when it comes to warranty work its all about speed...maybe some holts aren't tight, maybe wiring isn't routed or clipped back to the way it waa from factory). I don't trust dealership repair work anymore, no matter the brand)

  • @moneyparhar

Stay away from dual clutch transmission from huyndai or other normal car manufacturers. They don't have good reputation. If u want dual cluth stick to high end car manufacturers.

Very happy that in Canada they have a lot fewer "packages". We basically have 2...both have the bigger 2.5L engine, and the differences are really just cosmetic and "luxury" features. IMO this makes the buying process easier

The only time I feel the anemia of the non-turbo is if I’m already at a higher RPM/speed and ask it for a bit more. There’s very little in reserve. At lower speeds it can be quite peppy.

I'm very curious as to regular everyday interstate driving on the lower sel model? Non Turbo. How long does it take to get to 70/75 mph? If I'm cruising at 75 and have to pass a truck quickly can I? Or is it very sluggish trying to pass someone with a burst of speed?
