  • China's One Belt, One Road project - comprising of more than 68 countries, encompassing 4.4 billion people, and up to 40 percent of global GDP - will have major ramifications for countries and economies around the globe, especially those in Eurasia and the Asia-Pacific. Properly assessing the potential risks and volatility in OBOR related projects around the world and in varying economies will be central to its overall success. During this panel, experts will give an overview of the current state of the OBOR Initiative, both in the MENA region and internationally, and some of its potential obstacles.

    If only the USA could do the same, help in nation building of Latin America or Africa instead of threatening them with wars or sanctions

    China will be a Superpower indeed. The belt and Road is going to be a success and a great story for mankind.

    You have to look at China's One Belt, One Road project as Chinese export. China is exporting its infrastructure projects and gets for it money and barter. Importers are glad and China as exporter is glad. It is always so: exporters and importers have their own view on the value of the transaction. For China a bridge is a bridge and for importer of this bridge it is additionally a possibility to shorten the way in order to spare the time, fuel and money and thus to develop the private economy.

    Perhaps only China could conceive of such a project. Future generations will , could view the plan as having foresight and wisdom, or delusion and folly . China built the Great Wall and now it will build the great road ! But nations still do not have parity of conditions and influence. Goods will travel but will ideas and understanding ?

    I want to comment on the tone and attitude. I hear uncertainty on motivation and outcomes. Delivered in diplomatic constructions. h
