  • ["Gaia!" He screamed. It was too late. Aphrodite stared at the scattered remains of the collison. His core was beating heavily as his body trembled. He tried to reach out, to hold his friend, to bring him back.
There was still so much he wanted to say.
'I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said that.', 'I was wrong. Please forgive me.', and 'I didn't mean it, Gaia.'
So many words left unsaid. Unheard.
"No. No. No. No. No-" He repeated as his hands reached out to the scattered remains of the collision. "Gaia- please..." he pleaded desperately, hoping the universe heard him.
Give him back. Don't do this to me.
Give him back. I beg you. Please...
It's my fault. It's my fault. It's my fault.
    I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry-]
It had been too late. The memories resurfaced, and all he could think of was how it had been too late.
"If I could take us back..." Venus muttered under his breath, as he stared at the void of space, he thought back of the times when it was just the three of them. When it was just Aphrodite, Ares, and Gaia.
"If I could just do that..."
Venus regrets not being able to say more. Not saying what should have been said.

["Ga...ia...?" He uttered. Aphrodite screamed something from beside him, but Ares couldn't hear anything. There was a loud ringing in his ears as he stared at his best friend's scattered remains.
How could the universe be so cruel to take away an innocent life?]
Mars stared at Venus, who was spaced out as he looked out to the endless void. Everything had changed. Mars didn't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing.
Gaia was the one who knew what was best.
Gaia was the one who kept them together.
Gaia was the one who made them whole.
    But Gaia is dead.
    And Ares had become Mars.
He had to accept this change.

"Did- Do you hate me for... all of it?" She asked. She steeled herself of the harsh truth that would come out of his mouth. She knew what to expect; cold, biting words.
    "No." Huh? She had thought.
"I don't hate you for it." That was not the answer she was expecting. Instead of the sharpness she had expected, it was... comforting. Gentle and safe.
Theia shook. A single tear fell from her only open eye. She looked up to make eye contact with him, only to realize that he had actually meant it.
    She couldn't help but smile.
    "Thank you, Gaia." She expressed.
"I can now rest..." Theia whispered softly as her soul became faint. She could leave this universe in peace.
For the first time, she saw Gaia smile gently.
    "Rest well, old friend."
