I thought the virtual load is always in a positive direction? therefore vertical virtual loads at point C supposed to be pointing upward? but why is it pointing downward?.

Why did you take Dx in negative x direction? we generally take reactions in positive x or y direction .
It is up to you provided that you always keep the same convention
