One thing Ive always never fully understood about Fallout was the concept of the vaults. Like, I get that they were used maliciously as experiments for the elites and upper class, but to what end? When they are using them, they are in need of them. The nuclear war and fallout has just happened, so what is the point of the experiements? By the time most of the vaults would open, hundreds of years have past. Who is going to be around to look at and record the results of the experiments of those inside? And even if they wanted to study them simply to see what was best suitable environment for the elites...if they managed to survive this long along with the people in the vaults, werent they already in the best possible one? And what is the need of being rich when the world is in ruin? And if everything went haywire and the only people that exist are rich, are they still technically rich? Or average? And wouldnt most of their wealth, or what they would call wealth, be depleted by the time their own vault opens or even be functionally useless in whatever the new world is? Just a handful of thoughts, and a bunch of overthinking, but idk...Ive always found the concept of the vaults being experiments a little weird
It doesn't make *any* sense until you introduce a new theory that ties everything together: The Enclave is trying to build a generational colony ship to colonize a distant star system. The vaults all perform various experiments related to how things could go wrong on a ship trapped in the void of space. Even the vault that had a single guy and a box of puppets could be seen as an experiment to determine if a single crewmember could stay awake while the rest stay locked in cryo-sleep (the answer is no, the crewmember will go insane). Once you introduce that theory, it ALL makes sense ;)
And remember that not all vaults were experiments. Many of them opened without issue and those people were mostly the ones that repopulate the wasteland
Correct me if I’m wrong but I remember you can read some of the experiment logs on the computers in the vaults when you visit them. I don’t think they expected the ENTIRE world to be destroyed in a single day. They probably thought they would be able to maintain communication with the other vaults and compare results. Also isn’t Mr House from New Vegas from before the war? He uploaded his consciousness onto a computer chip and controls all of New Vegas. Not hard to believe that other tech like this exists in fallout and the scientists are still somehow around/recording the data somehow.

Is it weird to say that I prefer Fallout 4 over New Vegas? I just felt New Vegas as a little disjointed, plus the movement speed felt like the bottom half of my character was a slug, but of course that could be a build issue or something.
No, because it depends. If you prefer 4’s story theres plenty to deconstruct there but 4 is a more modern up to date game so the movement and just generally how the game feels is going to feel far better. Regardless both games need modding to reach their peak (Also no it is not a build issue, theres just no sprinting in New Vegas)
New Vegas introduced the faction system and companion quests, it was a step up from fallout 3 which didn’t even have gun sights without mods. The game introduced new fans to the lore of the west coast from the original two games, it used leftover story material from project van buren which was the original interplay version of fallout 3 that got canceled because the studio went bankrupt.

Fallout notes on plausible lore and some assumptions being made from the Fallout show. There are many opinions on who or what dropped the initial atomic bombs in 2077. However, it is not necessarily confirmed that Vault Tek dropped the bombs in a direct way, or in a controllable way, even within the Fallout show of 2024. The way of initial bombs dropped, may have occurred is that she (Barb) only made a suggestion they drop the bombs, but the situation between the nations was more complex and could not be that easily manipulated. Yes, the Vault Tek were manipulators, but even they had limits to what they could do, and may had over confidence on what they could do. It is still unknown as to who, (or what) cause the initial dropping of bombs. It should be noted that as seen in Fallout 76 that various types of bombs kept being dropped only a short 25 years later. There are still unverified facts in the Fallout universe.
A Dyson Swarm kind of structure around the Earth wouldn’t harness escaping energy from the Earth, thus minimising losses? These losses come either from natural causes (sunlight reflecting on Earth’s surface, geothermal activity etc) or from human activities. Isn’t there some logic behind that? Wouldn’t be that a first step before an actual Dyson sphere?
A Dyson Swarm or similar structure around Earth could indeed harness energy that would otherwise be lost to space. This concept has some logical grounding and could serve as a preliminary step toward more ambitious projects like a Dyson Sphere. A significant portion of solar energy that reaches Earth is reflected back into space by the atmosphere, clouds, and surface (albedo effect). Additionally, Earth emits infrared radiation as it cools. Earth's interior releases heat through geothermal activity, contributing to energy loss. Human activities, such as industrial processes and power generation, also release heat. A Dyson Swarm is a collection of solar collectors or satellites orbiting around a star (or a planet, in this case) to capture its energy. Solar panels in orbit could capture sunlight that is reflected off Earth's surface. Advanced materials and technologies could potentially capture some of the infrared radiation emitted by Earth. Satellites equipped with thermal energy collectors could absorb heat generated by human activities. Benefits of an Earth-Orbiting Dyson Swarm: - Such a structure would generate a substantial amount of renewable energy without the limitations of terrestrial solar panels, such as nighttime and weather conditions. - By capturing waste heat and infrared radiation, the Dyson Swarm could slightly mitigate the thermal footprint of human activities. - Developing the technology for a Dyson Swarm around Earth could pave the way for constructing more complex structures around the Sun or other stars. Building and maintaining a large number of satellites in orbit would require significant advancements in space technology, materials science, and logistics. Managing the orbits of potentially thousands or millions of satellites to avoid collisions and maintain optimal positioning would be complex. Efficiently transmitting the collected energy back to Earth, likely through microwave or laser beams, would require overcoming technical challenges related to energy loss and safety. The construction and operation of such a swarm would need to consider potential impacts on Earth's environment and space ecosystem, including space debris. A Dyson Swarm around Earth could indeed be a stepping stone toward building a Dyson Sphere around the Sun. It would allow us to test and refine the necessary technologies on a smaller scale and closer to home. Establishing space-based energy collection and transmission infrastructure could serve as a foundation for more extensive projects. Starting with a swarm around Earth could provide valuable experience and data, making the transition to a larger-scale Dyson Sphere around the Sun more feasible and manageable. A Dyson Swarm around Earth would not be a perfect solution to harnessing all escaping energy, but it represents a logical and incremental approach to utilizing space-based energy collection. It would capture some of the energy that would otherwise be lost, providing a renewable energy source and laying the groundwork for future megastructures. However, significant technological, logistical, and environmental challenges must be addressed to make this vision a reality.
The Enclave already existed Pre-war, close to 2077. It was the government that already was preparing for the great war. “ussr did not become Russia”… ussr was not only Russia it was many other countries, and when ussr seized to exist it became not only Russia but all the other very independent, sovereign countries, with their own unique languages and cultures, where people also can happen to watch this video and realise that stereotypes about American ignorance is actually true…
They’re correct. The USSR was a union of republics, one of which being Russia or the Russian SFSR. Russia existed before the USSR, to say that the USSR became Russia would be wrong, as it didn’t.
Wait so, even though everything we see in the fallout games/show looks like the 1950s/60s before the nuclear apocalypse, it’s really supposed to be the 2060s?
"if you really love multiplayer Fallout 76 may be your bag and if you prefer to play games that are good you should check out New Vegas" HAAHHAHA that one is good
Lots of mentions of New Vegas stuff in this video. However, the series seems to follow the line and ideas of BGS, not Obsidian or Interplay. I imagine that the person who wrote this video will be very disappointed with the Amazon series. And I like Fallout 76.
I don't know man, Martin I never even met... Can anyone please make a official complaint about the non stop banter from pawns about every frikkin grasshopper they see. Gees.. Just stop talking and let me enjoy the game
I liked the show okay at first glance ..but so far other than Walter Coggins I’ve found every character grating and annoying. The only other character I could actually stand spending any time with they cut their ankle and essentially cut them out of the show. Maybe tv shows just aren’t my jam.
As much as I love New Vegas. I don't think that's the one I'd recommend to new players. It's fun. I love the story and quests. But let's be honest. On consoles, or without mods, it is a broken mess that can be frustrating. I always go with FO4 as a recommendation because it is the most accessible one. Then I go with NV with the promise of a better story, consequences, and characters but at the price of a lot of jank.
I honestly don’t know how people mispronounce things where there’s literally 100’s of examples on how it’s supposed to be said. It’s the “ON-CLAVE”. It seems super lazy on the person doing the video and looks like they didn’t do a lick of research. It’s just one of those small pet peeves of mine that really bug me 😂.
Tbh the story doesn't make sense. Vault tec is the biggest company the world making lots of money already, why go and destroy the world to sell some vault when it makes way more money to sell to the billions of human in earth.. this part pretty much killed the logic of the show. Also, the TV show is mostly based on fallout 3 and 4... not the OG fallout 1 and 2. For that, I am disappointed.
Well I think that vault tec was working with the enclave in the project safehouse to prepare people to migrate to another planet like earth. The people in the enclave knew nuclear war was going to happen and very few people in vault tec knew it was going to happen so that's why when the war happened. They were preparing with the enclave to leave earth.
The plan was to end the world early and restart civilization how they saw fit so they let everyone experiment in the vaults to see which result would be best to start new life with. So it was about money first then about complete control
The show needs to do a better job of explaining the fallout world. How do you expect the audience to know about what the brotherhood of steel does and that's one of your main characters in the show who is part of the brotherhood of steel.
i’ve never played fallout but thought the concept was cool so wanted to watch the show. while some things i could definitely understand from context, i def felt that there was some stuff i was missing bc i had no prior knowledge.
Some of the things don’t quite sound right, but ultimately none of it matters. Bethesda literally refuses to use design documentation. Devs go with rule of cool, with no damns given about lore accuracy, retcons, consistency, nothing. Bethesda’s Fallout world-building is an objective farce, and I’m certain the show will be as well, since it’s based on the 4 and 76 reboots.
Ah yes. The classic "Fallout is zany and full of dark humor" ...only, it's not... it's hella bleak, and there are one or two funny moment that break that desolate silence, so of course the insecure among us will gravitate toward "Oh, Fallout is quirky" rather than the truth... "Fallout is dark, bleak, and foreboding."
The games with the highest play counts, sales, etc. are chalk full of dark humor/zany quests, etc. I think you’re referring like 1/5 of the entire series haha
@@super_terram If you honestly need specific examples of dark, tongue in cheek humor in the Fallout series, I have serious doubts that you’ve even played it. OR even worse, you have but everything went over your head. Yeah it’s post apocalyptic, and features extreme gore, social/political commentary but the entirety of it is embedded with dark humor. I truly don’t know how you could not know that. You can listen to the creation process of the very first game for yourself. Fallout is definitely bleak and violent and dark but the beauty is that overall it doesn’t take itself too seriously. There’s a very strong tongue-in-cheek humor in every installment of the series. @@ZombieGangster - because _Fallout_ fans aren’t the only ones watching the show.
@@Sam_T2000 The show was made and targeted towards Fallout fans. We know about the lore because the games explain it to us all the time.
@@ZombieGangster - no studio would ever create a show or movie based upon a video game with the intention of only targeting the game’s fan, and not general audiences.
So let me get this straight fallout is the story telling of how human experiments play out after a nuclear war which vault tec foreseen so they got the governments backing to create vaults while secretly setting up an experiment on humans opening vaults at different times or with different obstacles
I love Fallout!
Courier would be a sweet interesting crossover in the show, going to new vegas for sure. So maybe 🤔
I really miss Lucy McLean's father John....
Fallout lore is a complete insanity, in the best possible way
“ussr did not become Russia”… ussr was not only Russia it was many other countries, and when ussr seized to exist it became not only Russia but all the other very independent, sovereign countries, with their own unique languages and cultures, where people also can happen to watch this video and realise that stereotypes about American ignorance is actually true…
They’re correct. The USSR was a union of republics, one of which being Russia or the Russian SFSR. Russia existed before the USSR, to say that the USSR became Russia would be wrong, as it didn’t.
Yo era un mensajero hasta que me pegaron un tiro en la cabeza
Question from a new viewer? Does the little icon dude with the blue and yellow coveralls have a name?
Wait so, even though everything we see in the fallout games/show looks like the 1950s/60s before the nuclear apocalypse, it’s really supposed to be the 2060s?
They never advanced
"if you really love multiplayer Fallout 76 may
be your bag and if you prefer to play
games that are good you should check out New Vegas"
HAAHHAHA that one is good
Nuclear war is honestly the most stupidest thing we have created😂
Those bugs are absolutely the worst. So annoying
i want to play it so bad in chronological order but i dont have enough money to play from steam sadly
Lots of mentions of New Vegas stuff in this video. However, the series seems to follow the line and ideas of BGS, not Obsidian or Interplay. I imagine that the person who wrote this video will be very disappointed with the Amazon series. And I like Fallout 76.
Why do people hate fallout 3 or 4? they were awesome games!
I don't know man, Martin I never even met... Can anyone please make a official complaint about the non stop banter from pawns about every frikkin grasshopper they see. Gees.. Just stop talking and let me enjoy the game
Great video!
The poor animals
You know King John was the bad guy, right?
My fav character is John fallout
Fallout 76 came out 6 years ago?!?!?!?!?!
Wow
I liked the show okay at first glance ..but so far other than Walter Coggins I’ve found every character grating and annoying. The only other character I could actually stand spending any time with they cut their ankle and essentially cut them out of the show. Maybe tv shows just aren’t my jam.
That was a "deep dive?" .... Credibility = 0
Huzzah! A man of quality! lotta fallout fans should take notes from this, and not try to get on each others throats over which game is superior
Fallout 4 is The Best Fallout and can't wait for Fallout TV Serie i'm so excited! ☢️
incorrect
It’s more of a matter of opinion.
Agreed and its likely they'll put out a show thats full of DEI nonsense to boot 😅
Fallout New Vegas Writing, Factions, RPG mechanics and Plot
Fallout 4 Graphics, Armor/Gun customizations, Settlements mechanics and Map design
Fallout 3 Prologue, Rare encounters, Map Weather and Colour palette
That's the perfect fallout for me...
I hate it when people use words without looking up the meaning and pronunciation, it's not that hard to do a quick Google search
"Usa all the way baby" 🤦♂️ what even is that😂😂
The show needs to do a better job of explaining the fallout world.
1:32 who taught y’all history 💀
yeah ussr was first to go to space
The USSR won the space race as they were the first to send men to space. They are correct, and so is their knowledge of history.
the TV show has 16 times the detail of the game! 😏
Wow Frightening stuff '' Great Video 💯💥💥💥💥💥💥💥
Ah yes, the New Vegas meatriding continues…
This show blows ami missing something here..I feel like I’m watching 2 totally different shows
Lol "or if you prefer to play games that are good, play New Vegas"
New Vegas was dog water😂😂😂😂
Fallout 76 is good now
W Fallout!
ChatGPT wrote this script.
fallout 76? New Vegas? HAHAHAAH
Remember when Gamespot said Ghostbusters 2016 was worth watching 😂😂😂😂
did ai write this... the language is so stiff
Fallout 4 clears new vegas unfortunately 💀💀
Some of the things don’t quite sound right, but ultimately none of it matters. Bethesda literally refuses to use design documentation. Devs go with rule of cool, with no damns given about lore accuracy, retcons, consistency, nothing. Bethesda’s Fallout world-building is an objective farce, and I’m certain the show will be as well, since it’s based on the 4 and 76 reboots.
the lore of Fo4 and F76 cause Bethesda retoconned a million things its not even the same lore anymore
The Soviet’s absolutely were not the winners of the space race, not sure where the video creator got that idea.
Bravo!!!!
@@mbbb169 Examples please!
How could you possibly not realize this!?
Specifically starts talking more about humor at 55:24 ish
He literally comments how they were going for a “we’re not taking this very seriously” undertone to things.

Hard cut to footage of Fallout 76 with people in Bunny outfits.
2 started that ball rolling unfortunately with its 50 pop culture references a minute. Thankfully NV had wild wasteland to reduce it a little. 4 feels like when they really leaned into the stupidity
The soviets didn't win the space race. The whole point was to put someone on the moon, not just to get to space.
lol, usa change the metric for winning just because thats the only part where they won
This is so terribly confusing. What a terrible video
That fallout series on Amazon is going to bomb harder than the chinese bombed the US in the fallout universe.
you can't explain the lore in 6 minutes!
