I kinda get the 'starting with the t shirts' thing. A person who has largely focused on another niche but absorbs general clothing talk (myself included) could default to t shirts because even though the frequency of bangers may be lower than, say, jackets, the diversity and ceiling seem to be greater. My route has always been MJ, MP, MS, Jackets, WJ, WS, then Mens substantials (sweaters, sweatshirts, pullovers), MBU, polos/tees...Flea market people call me 'Levis" or "jeans guy" but denim only accounts for 60% of my sales. Each place I go might take longer, and I still have to do research in real time, but it hedges against niche saturation and seasonality.
Carrie, your channel has given us courage to try homeschooling next year along with growing our small ebay store!

I live in the same state as Carrie and the thrifts in my town stash all the winter and fall stuff in the back of the store on dry cleaning belts that have all the inventory up in the ceiling until the proper season
Nice! I knew they were storing them somewhere but didn’t know how! That’s really cool
I looked into doing this at my warehouse for an inventory system, but it's insanely expensive.

Thrift stores are resellers themselves. It doesn’t make sense for them to waste space in their showroom area trying to sell coats in the summertime when no one is buying coats.
There is zero BS from you my friend. Walking talking proof of what can be done with eBay no gimmicks. I can tell how serious you are about everything you do, if that’s making the biggest eBay store or replying to every interaction on a RUclips videos. No excuses just getting shit done. It’s simple in theory but very few people have the integrity and work ethic you do. Inspirational thank you for making this channel. I am also considering signing upto the group as I need this in my life more.
It's only $1 a day not much of a gamble. If you can't make a profit on the group you can have a refund. Not difficult with all of the information we have to make your dollar back.

You don't have rock placements in Florida because you don't have -20 degree winters, its been common in the midwest as long as the bins have been around, and luckily people around here have enough respect to follow the rules, go ahead and try to cut ahead and see what happens here lol. I once saw a biker dude throttle a teenager for skipping ahead of everyone when the doors opened lol.
It's such a wild foreign concept for me in Florida lol

I look through the jackets because Tech never skips them 😅. Jackets and flannels sell year-round, for men's and women's. It's a good buy.

Depends on the layout of the store, but I'm going Men's Jeans, Sweaters/hoodies or Jackets first. Used to go to tees first. Stopped last year, now that section gets the quickest look lol

I had come to a similar conclusion about sell through rate recently. Basically a store will have its own sell through rate on an item. I believe a whole host of things influence it like quality of photos and listing, keywords, return policy, eBay rating etc.
Definitely check out all my previous videos. I talk about all of this every single video & have done so for about 8 years on RUclips.

Tech, the thrift stores (not goodwill) that I go to in San Diego don’t put sweaters/jackets during summer. But in September 1/2 of the stores are winter stuff 🤩

There is Most definitely a different metric for sellers that know what they are doing. I can sell something much faster that "on paper" is a poor pick up. I'm glad to hear this because I have been hesitant to talk about it in the group.

I definitely go to T-shirts last if at all. Just don't find most are worth it, and there's 100's to look through. My thrifts charge $3-$5 for a tee. The biggest ROI for me in tops are jackets, sweaters, sweatshirts, long sleeves, etc. During the warm months, I'm definitely looking for the golf polos and hawaiian shirts.

I do the same finger method through the racks you mentioned about the fast guy you saw going through the button ups. I'm an extremely competitive person, I have to be top of the leaderboard at all times, in everything I do. With my high level of brand knowledge, speed, and efficiency, I'm like Galactus in a thrift store. I get a massive dopamine hit when other resellers see me and just leave the store because I'm just melting the racks. I get an even bigger dopamine hit when I cleared the whole men's section in 15 minutes, I'm cashing out, walking out the door on the way to the next store, and my competitors are just walking in. 💀

Some insight from Australia re the rocks holding spots in line at the bins.
A friend of mine was in jail a couple of years ago and she told me that every morning the girls put their drink bottles in line in the mornings at morning mecication line. I wonder if its carried over from jail in the states into the bin lines at the thrifts lol?

After watching some of her videos she has the best kids ever. Her and her husband both had on headphones and were photos and listing and kids were fine. With my kids I do 4hrs then switch off with my wife then I can get some work done. I cant imagine, not having kids be like mom dad we need this need that, im bored. I figured they went off to school and she worked then but they are always there. Mind blown. Even bring 2 kids to the bins, I tried to shop with my 4 year old and she lasted 10 minutes. I was just trying to use my 50% goodwill 1 item coupon.

Well thank you for the compliment on the kids! They really are great. They play well together, both are responsible, keep each other honest too. There are days where I’m asked a question every minute of listing but most days I can bust out my work while they’re playing.
Great podcast! I've only been to the Bridgeton bins in MO, first time I've ever waited in line behind lawn chairs, water bottles, cups and ikea bags instead of people 😂 I apparently didn't have a clue about the code because I was standing out there freezing my a$$ off. Lol!

I start with shirts only because the STR is higher on shirts than for jackets in Australia…I will settle for $10 profit on an item that will sell in a month than $20 profit on an item that takes up a lot of room and takes more than a month to sell

Two eBay stores is no big deal. I use two browsers, so there's no logging in and out of different accounts. I use an extension to open pages in the other browser with one click. All email is forwarded to my main email account, from where I manage everything, including other platforms.
