Calling this unsportsmanlike like is terrible. No one cheated. If it boils down to a match race at the end of a regatta than this is part of the sport. It’s skilful. Showing all of his abilities. The Brazilian should have been better if he wants to win a gold.
Think of it as like going one point or goal up in the first minute then spending the resting of the game defending the lead rather than trying to score. Happens in many sports.
