When I was a kid a friends parent's took me to grandpa's . It was out side of West Alexandria PA and there was a beautiful creek on the property. My friend and I went exploring and took our fishing poles to catch giants in a small creek. lol There were a few water falls that we found while exploring. One had a very large pool surrounded with over hanging rocks that may have been maybe 4 or 5 foot deep. 20 foot or so in circumference. We had worms and bologna sandwiches. We probably caught 15 or 20 little trout in that pool. we let them all go that we didn't kill by accident of the swallowed hook. We knew know different. I will never forget that day. I grew up as a teenager and young man not long after hunting and fishing. One day I just didn't want to kill anything anymore. I had no sort of religious change in my life or anything. I just didn't see a reason why. I didn't need to for food but it is good. Better than anything you can buy in the store. Especially the fish. That was a long time ago.
Actually no, we prefer to use 10’ rods, we feel there are way more pros than cons to use the longer rod, you can stay back further from the runs, the longer rod helps to sling the bow and arrow casts a little further, you can reach the rod over brush and different obstacles, different scenarios like that
You know, I haven’t watched this vid in a long time but I may have been using a smaller rod! I used to use a 8’6” st croix, maybe your eyes aren’t so bad after all! Lol
How do you like the syndicate rod ? You said it's a 2wt rod, what reel are you using and what kind and size fly line did you pair it up with ? Love your videos, you three need to get out more so we can follow you.
Jo Bags So far we are really enjoying the Syndicates! We have used them for everything, nymphing, throwing dries and even small streamers. Obviously nymphing being the best though, has the sensitivity of the 2 wt, but still has the backbone to bring in bigger fish. We pair it with 5 wt reel and line. Seems to balance nice!
See, that's what I don't get. Benny over at Lively Legz also paired a 2wt Syndicate rod with a 5wt line. I over line often, especially when fishing smaller streams and rivers to let the rod load quicker, but I never heard of going 3 weights higher.
Jo Bags definitely not, at first we were a little skeptical about it, but now I don't think we would use anything else, it's nice reaching out into those tight pockets. Has it challenges though if you're trying to throw a dry.
Good vid, but please follow two rules: 1. Never touch the fish and 2. Never take the fish out of the water. Use a tool like the "Ketchum Release." Decrease fish mortality.
Good video! A bad day on the water is a very good day!
Just being out in that beautiful countryside is well worth it. Thanks for the video.
Any day like this is a good day.
Thanks for a refreshing video.
Both content and style are very good. I enjoyed watching it and got inspired to get the stuff out and plan a trip.
WOW such stunning scenery and pretty fish. The streams I often fish are similar in size. Great video.
Cosy video guys 👍Reminds me of my flyfishing at Hyalite Creek, Montana 😊

Don't get discouraged I struck out on 3 streams this past weekend that had been stocked with brown fingerlings. Keep up the good work
JD Bechtold thank you! Tight lines!
This is fishing! Sometimes it works out sometimes it dosnt. Love the videos! I'll trade you a trip to the moutaints for a trip to the bay!
Everyday fishing in the forest is a very good day!
Nice, can’t wait to do some blue lining!
Cork is great but i love the ritual of waiting till the first fish on a new rod to remove that plastic.... makes it special.
Good job guys .keep sharing .make it little longer 😊

美しいね。
I wet wade in conditions like this
Do you guys use 7ft rods for these tiny streams?
Actually no, we prefer to use 10’ rods, we feel there are way more pros than cons to use the longer rod, you can stay back further from the runs, the longer rod helps to sling the bow and arrow casts a little further, you can reach the rod over brush and different obstacles, different scenarios like that
@@alleghenynative Great thanks man. To me I couldn’t tell what size to my bad eyes it looked like a shorter rod I only use 9 and 10 ft myself.
You know, I haven’t watched this vid in a long time but I may have been using a smaller rod! I used to use a 8’6” st croix, maybe your eyes aren’t so bad after all! Lol
I take it back, just watched and this was the first vid we did when I used the 10’ syndicate!

Jo Bags Yep! It seems to work great!
Allegheny Native Do you find the 10ft rod is too long for the small streams you guys fish ?

What size flys are u using I have no clue what size to use for s brookies?
There are some fish? kidding, but there are, hahaha
What camera(s) do you use?

Zawhana Fachhai well when the fishing isn’t great, we’re out there to enjoy the outdoors and each other’s company. What else is there to do 🤷🏼♂️
Awesome video and great scenery. Looks a little like the PNW. Check out my “Small Stream Paradise” vid sometime if you have a chance.
Why u no hav mor subs
less talking, more fishing
Haha we like to fish, but ill be the first to admit we are probably better at talking than fishing!
More fishing, less face time.
George Pretnick haha we would have liked to have more fishing, water was low, not a lot of fish caught but you have those days every now and again!
What a dick...these guys videos are awesome
thomas durning thanks for your support!
