I've had 'friends' really abuse the AOR as though a few, simple changes to the plot wouldn't clarify. I think all the open scenarios between 1-10th level, the group actions, enemies that turned out to be agents of the Vecna Cult on Toril can stay different every game. It doesn't need to stay as rigid as many DMs want. They are craving ease of play and a conversation that takes 2 minutes. It should be a conversation for the length of game Zero, but it could be real Level 1st to 10th if you want. Move it from a year and a half from the 10th level+ story to 2+1/2. Why not.
