Good for you! I had my tubes tied at 34. I've never regretted it. I helped raise my brothers when I was a teenager and found out how tough it was - that's why I decided to skip motherhood. I've been teaching for the past 18 years and feel that I've been contributing to society without having to reproduce. I have friends who have become parents, sometimes for better, and sometimes for worse. Everyone needs to decide for themselves.

I understand and respect your decision as well. My only question is how was your childhood? Did you feel like you haven’t received the things that you saw when you went to India as a child or just growing up overall?

They do reversible vasectomy btw, maybe do more research to that option. But I feel like at 45, you might be correct with your mindset and not having kids. My friend had one but he regrets it , but he is younger than you. Like 38-39. He did it when he was 35-36.

I’m also around your age and facing the same dilemma as you in terms of reaching that point in life where all my friends and siblings are married with children and I’m still single with no kids. I was an introvert throughout my early life and always avoided dating and relationships because it always caused me anxiety. Lately, seriously started thinking about having a family. I tried online dating and even met up with a girl in VN. I was in a long distance relationship for a year and thought i had found my soulmate. Then circumstances changed and we broke up. I tried online dating again but it was never the same. I always felt anxiety always trying to text them at certain times of the day and them expecting me to respond in a timely manner. So I agree with you, do what makes you feel peace of mind. Take care of yourself first. One thing I do like about being single is it gives me spontaneity to do anything whenever I want. Good luck 👍

46 years old? I wouldn't start being a father, in some ways its irresponsible because you may burden the child and add unnecessary stress for everyone including yourself. I have kids and I would say having a child is a selfish act and when you do bring in a child in this world you should be in a position to make them feel they are lucky to be born and lucky to have you as their parents.
I fully respect and commend your choice of tying your tubes. After that they wont be able to say its yours. ha!

My sons have already decided to have vasectomies. They are 19 and 17 years old. If they decided they want children later they will try and reverse it. If they can't they are 100% okay with adoptions. They have always thought they didn't want children. So we are doing a consult for the 19 year old. The 17 year old wants his when he turns 18, so we he has saved money for it.

I have 2 kids. I was 17 when I had my daughter, she is a month away from being 17 now. And have an 8 year old autistic son and they are my world.
I’m done with baby making lol.
I’ve been a full time babysitter for my friends for 9 years instead 😅

Hey Calvin, I was not able to have children.
My biological clock never went off so I was able to give my life to the Restaurant.
I taught my teams ,I have 10 nieces and nephews and 3 great N and N.
I held them as infants i am still with them today with there children.
The only thing that crossed my mind a lot was I wouldn't have anyone to watch over me when I am old.
You do what makes your life stable .
If you don't want to be a father ,dont take the risk.
I believe your old enough now to know what you don't want ❤.

Married or not, already have kids or not, if you no longer want to have kids, vasectomy is a good option. I had mine done at 30 after my second child, never regretted it. Having children is expensive and not necessary for most people. At worst, you can always adopt later on if you change your mind. Sharing knowledge and experiences doesn't necessary mean you have to have kids, you can always mentor others. I've mentored many in Vietnam without adopting or bringing a new life into this world.

I am considering the same possibility.
I am 42, single, with no kids.
There was a lot of knowledge about Life and Finances, that I didn't learn until I was around age 37.
I wish I knew what I know now at age 18.
I think I can help educated a lot of people on what I know, and how to have a better life.
Having children now may prevent me from accomplishing more of my Life Goals that I have now.

As a new father, I can totally understand what you feel brother. I think you have a pretty clear vision of what you want to do in life, and being a responsible person you don't want to accidentally bring a life unto this world. However a vasectomy is a permanent procedure, I urge you to take some more time to think about it. Who knows, one day you might find a reason to want to have a kid and it might be too late if you done the procedure. Of course you may also go ahead and do it if you have thought about it long and hard, and eventually even if you do want to raise a child, there are so many orphans in this world and they could use a great man as yourself as a father! All the best to you Calvin.
