@@apophisstr6719 I 100% agree. For it to drain fast in the past you had to be wwaaaayyyy ahead. Now if you are 6-7 car lengths ahead the battle just, ends. . .
Nerfing Angel was the right move cause she's not optional, if you want to progress you have to beat her and she has twice the horsepower than you at that point. yet they added her pre-nerf version as a rematch if you want her car so.. they did it right by nerfing her this way lol.
She absolutely needed a nerf because the only way to beat her was cheesy dirty racing or xtreme luck, which honestly ruined the feel of the game to me. Still, I'm sad to see the nerf was this major. Playing through a second time myself now and gonna get to her soon.
My only problem with the way the bosses like melancholy were just how cheesy it felt. Like she would just blow you away. I hate having to cheese a boss to win. I just think it was stupid to make her the requirements to upgrade any further. Couldn't they just make the bosses good racers instead of stupid fast with crap AI.
I personally believe the problem stems from the fact, that the bosses start IN FRONT of you, not behind like in previous games, make that fix and boom.
Not all of them do, it depends on the situation. If you challenge them you start behind if you trigger them challenging you, you get the lead. Always been like this.
Yeah I will say they nerfed her way too hard. I beat her after the patch and when I first meet her I thought: Emm even though they say they nerfed her, this might still be challenging but nooooo. I keep up with her right from the start & she's not pulling even a little bit away from me. I straight pass her in the first corner & leave her in the dust. Like if you upgrade you car to the max, with nos and gear ratio favor acceleration, you can easily beat her in the first time. Like there is no way you can lose unless you got skill issues
I hope they change the boss intros to work similar to the previous games and have the race start immediately after they appear behind you. Instead of having to flash the headlights to challenge them
@ What i mean is that it repeats the intro again when you flash the headlights . They should change it to show the intro only once. the race should start once you accept the challenge
@@KingdomTwelveThat wasn't directed towards you. That was more of a argument why it is not so bad. I like how you can upgrade your car to the max in game and when you meet her again she smokes ya.
so... let me get this straight... you'd rather the bosses be uncatchable rockets with no chance of ever beating them? tell me you're a masochist without telling me so. sorry, having to spam the same race a million times until the boss's tires are bald is NOT challenge, it's stupid.
The "nerf" is there because you dont have access to the right parts to beat her in a flat out rolling start race, the fact that most people needed to put her into a wall or car to win is a clear indication the balance was off and they mitigated the nerf by making her second encounter back to the original difficulty. There is literally nothing to complain about
The issue with "player base will grow" is wrong. Destiny 2 is a perfect example. Bungie kept listening to the casual crowd and they kept nerfing everything patch after patch, dlc after dlc, and players keep leaving and leaving. That triple A game is nearly dead now. Yes making it easier gets more players in initially but if the experience isn't memorable because it was too easy, why would they return back? What kept me buying TXR back in the day is because the challenge was so fun, I got hyped for each upcoming installment in the series.
@@tinystar3010 I wouldnt worry to much this is a ploy to gain new players i believe on full release things will be more like the TXR of old that us veterans know
@@XxsunshinegirlxXCinderella was a Wanderer, hence the requirement to have to set it to midnight to face her. Now she’s ascended to Boss status, that goes away although she did appear in the Midnight option in ITC.
M-Angel wasn't difficult, she was just unfair. When you have to rely on the AI to make mistakes in specific scenarios/points of the map rather than your own skill and adapting tuning, you haven't created difficulty, you've created tedium. I don't care whether that's how TXR was back then, it's bad boss design, glad she's nerfed, I hope Genki manage to find a way to balance difficulty better with the other bosses going forward.
But you dont have to rely on luck. You have to pick and choose where to fight them. This is how it was in the older games. Know when the boss is going to pop, do your last round near that area or wait for them to make it to that area, then fight. You even have the advantage this time of bosses not being a forced encounter. Its only tedium if you arent willing to adapt and overcome.
So what happens when you play an RPG and a boss is weak against thunder? You exploit that weakness and cast thunder and get an advantage. Same thing with this game, race a hard boss and analyze why they were hard and figure out where on the map you can race to give you the advantage and beat them. I was able to beat her without cheese multiple times.
@@marcilmp Combining the content and bugs you like from the previous patches (such as higher money reward post first time beating rivals, 100 kph reverse drive money grind, pre nerf angel difficulty, old opponent names like White Revolution) with the current patch (adjustable camera shake, interchangable transmission modes during free roam) is the best custom patch ever, that should be explored by modders.
Only thing I would’ve preferred is for Cinderella to be about as fast as pre patch Angel, since she’s the final boss of stage 2. Cinderella felt too easy and not as hyped as Angel but that’s just me
I still find it odd that before the nerfs, Melancholic Angel was harder than Cinderella Past Midnight.. it took me about 5-6 times to best Melancholic snd Shuwa before I best Cinderella on the first try.
I feel like it's a multi tiered problem. I definitely agree the bosses should NOT be nerfed. It takes strategy to beat them, I beat Melancholy and Cinderella first try due to strategically following them until the right point on a couse that favors your car's characteristics (beat with S13). There is a reason why certain Bosses have Auras around them (they are strong and will F**k you up if you're not ready)...have an attack plan and don't just attempt to race them the instant you see them. The main issues are 1. Lack of car options early on (3 starter cars is NOT the way), there needs to be more options. 2. Groups of upgraded parts shouldn't be locked behind a massive group of Bosses, it should resemble TXR0 and TXR3's approach where single parts are locked behind individual Bosses, that way the player can still get incremental performance increases to help beat the next Boss (however they battle the Bosses is the player's decision and the player won't know what they unlock with each Boss ahead of time, they just get the new part). Those 2 fixes would instantly make a better system than whats currently in place with the parts. Maybe it's an EA issue where Genki is trying to show up a multitude of things while also complying to car licensing agreements or something, but the best part about everything is that it can be fixed.

Melancholic Angel i think 380 hp would be a good fight and having Midnight be at like 400-415hp would be a wicked fun time. still feels like im eating a sampler plate of stuff i really enjoy so cant wait for the main dish :3
But I still can't defeat Melancholic Angel yet! Also, I beat down Past-Midnight Cinderella was just mere luck, because she rammed into a passer-by car and gave me the chance to outrun her, so I don't think I defeat her fair and square.
I felt cheated when they nerfed her, problem I was having was I didn't know about the legendary tuners so if I would of known about them, then it would of been a challenging race. I wonder, was pre-nerf angel rx-8 or bust or could you use other cars?
The game literally forces you to a PA when you open up the rest of the map and forces you to talk to the legendary tuner. How did you not know about him?

They should make a Mode called maximum velocity where all opponents are maxed out and drive as fast as possible, every car on the road too😂 " we only do maximum velocity"
I disagree, this nerf is good and needed to happen. The TXR series has always been easy aside from a select few bosses that were ridiculous, and it's never been a good game design. Imagine your beer league hockey team is playing against a bunch of Timbits, and suddenly the Florida Panthers show up and grind you into dust, and then you figure out the only way to win is to send the refs home and break all the players' kneecaps, then you try to act proud of your victory. That's what the TXR series is like. Cinderella is the perfect speed for a good hard race where it's winnable in a fair battle, where you know you can't make a mistake. She's also the final boss as of now, so there's no way she should be slower than Angel. Acting like losing 20 times in an unfair race just to finally get a lucky win in one specific usable car is a good thing is an L take all day. The only TXR that was actually hard was 2, and that was because after a certain point, all the rivals could out corner you no matter what you drove aside from the S30ZX, which again, was unfair, bad game design.
@ I did watch the whole video, and it is an L take. If you want the game to be harder, just use a slower car. Nobody is forcing you to full tune it. Stop giving Genki bad ideas. Do you want this game to do well? Or do you want a broken boss to frustrate everyone and make them stop playing it? Go ahead, drive everyone away so they never bother making another one. This one only took 14 years.
@Stray_Spectre If you watched, then you would have understood everything I said and heard that a nerf was fine but a 81HP was too much and now it went from too hard to way too easy among other arguments. And 14 years? It was 18 years from ITC to this announcement. At least get that right.
This is a problem with feedback when a Dev listens to the newer crowd than the people who stuck with this series for YEARS. There's still time for adjustments but the game shouldn't be easier, literally, get fucking good, be rewarded. I'm sick of these games being watered down because people suck at a game lmao. Alternatively just give us a difficulty slider, that's the best way for this because I don't want to be associated with these gentle parented clowns.
I'm honestly contemplating a refund at this point. I really want to like the game but one more nerf and I'm out honestly. This whole situation is just depressing, we suddenly can only have hard bosses in Souls games or Fighting games because Forza/NFS/GT dominated the market and we can't have their own way of fun anymore, while racing games back then is also known for having boss fights with machines far powerful than the player's but now they scream foul at it.
The fact that people are complaining is just a sign that those people have never played a TER title prior. TER is the Dark Souls of racing games and some bosses/wanderers will take multiple tries to beat.
I've said Melancholic Angel was unbalanced despite having played all of the TXR since 1999. The reason I said that this boss was broken in the 1st place was because of how the other stage 2 bosses (Dark Tengu and Every Little-Bit Warrior in particular) compared to her. They weren't at the same level at all. Plus, she was basically forcing players to play a certain way (RX8 + Ginza) to beat her. If a boss needed to be hard, it had to be Midnight Cinderella at this stage. Not her. I was feeling like I was facing the Darts GT-R trio for the 1st time when I played the pre-patched version of the game.
i even went to TXR3 yesterday to try her and she smocked me from the start! same as MA prenerf It's too bad that Genki threw fans just for some losers who went on forum just to say how things are difficult

Genki can strike right now while the iron is hot and really make a stand for games that hearken back a time of better standards. people cant just complain in the peanut gallery though. they have to tell the company directly.
I feel like the nerf would be unnecessary if there's more cars to pick from in stage 2.
The nerf is unnecessary if the SP doesn't drains the way it is now, it drains too fast too early compare to the old games.
@@apophisstr6719 there is that "upgrade" perk to make it start draining 1 second later
@ It still drains too fast once it started, it's basically an on/off switch right now, unlike the more progressive approach like the older games.
@@apophisstr6719 yep. good thing they left it open for early access so you TXR pros have time to e-mail them suggestions to make the perfect new txr!
@@apophisstr6719
I 100% agree.
I'm ok with the way she was nerfed only because pre-nerf Angel is available with an aura to show she's faster now.
It sucks but its true
She absolutely needed a nerf because the only way to beat her was cheesy dirty racing or xtreme luck, which honestly ruined the feel of the game to me.
Still, I'm sad to see the nerf was this major. Playing through a second time myself now and gonna get to her soon.
@@kasuraga She didn't have the aura before because she was holding back the first time you faced her.
Agreed, 81hp nerf is way too much.
I do miss them coming up behind you randomly.
Yeah she should have 400hp and Cinderella 425
@@tzeichi Yeah 400 will be reasonable and Cinderella definitely needs more power, she is way to easily to defeat it's a bit boring.
I hope they change the boss intros to work similar to the previous games and have the race start immediately after they appear behind you. Instead of having to flash the headlights to challenge them
I disagree. That was one of the things that I disliked about the older games and it forced you to race when you didn't want to.
If they add that in they also give option accept their challenges.
@ What i mean is that it repeats the intro again when you flash the headlights . They should change it to show the intro only once. the race should start once you accept the challenge
If you want to race her on hard like before just race her again. They nerved for the first race but the next race is hard.
It's clear you didn't watch the video.
@@KingdomTwelveThat wasn't directed towards you. That was more of a argument why it is not so bad. I like how you can upgrade your car to the max in game and when you meet her again she smokes ya.
so... let me get this straight... you'd rather the bosses be uncatchable rockets with no chance of ever beating them? tell me you're a masochist without telling me so. sorry, having to spam the same race a million times until the boss's tires are bald is NOT challenge, it's stupid.
>you'd rather the bosses be uncatchable rockets
They've always been like that, especially the late game bosses.
@@thehwguy4293those games are like 18 years old at this point

Unfortunate that i wanted challenge, but we have to deal with the casuals in modern gaming nowadays
The "nerf" is there because you dont have access to the right parts to beat her in a flat out rolling start race, the fact that most people needed to put her into a wall or car to win is a clear indication the balance was off and they mitigated the nerf by making her second encounter back to the original difficulty. There is literally nothing to complain about
Valid view point indeed.
It's clear you didn't watch the video and listen to my full thoughts.
Genki nerfing difficulty is the first time I've ever felt disappointed by Genki. And now I'm actually concerned for the full release...
at least babies will be able to beat the game without much effort. just think how the player base could grow!
Same, but it was inevitable i feel.
That doesn't make ANY sense you know?
This is the proof that genki is hearing us and definitely not a negative thing
The issue with "player base will grow" is wrong. Destiny 2 is a perfect example. Bungie kept listening to the casual crowd and they kept nerfing everything patch after patch, dlc after dlc, and players keep leaving and leaving. That triple A game is nearly dead now. Yes making it easier gets more players in initially but if the experience isn't memorable because it was too easy, why would they return back? What kept me buying TXR back in the day is because the challenge was so fun, I got hyped for each upcoming installment in the series.
@@tinystar3010 I wouldnt worry to much this is a ploy to gain new players i believe on full release things will be more like the TXR of old that us veterans know
Its alright we're gonna get more bosses and im more than certain that they'll be way faster than her.
I actually liked the challenge of having to outmaneuvering her in the corner
would be great if Cinderella would appear just after Midnight based on your Region ;D
It used to back in the day. We had to set our PS2 clocks to midnight.
@KingdomTwelve wow. damn i hope it will come back for the full release
@@XxsunshinegirlxXCinderella was a Wanderer, hence the requirement to have to set it to midnight to face her.
Now she’s ascended to Boss status, that goes away although she did appear in the Midnight option in ITC.
@@augosyx She was also a boss in TXR1
M-Angel wasn't difficult, she was just unfair. When you have to rely on the AI to make mistakes in specific scenarios/points of the map rather than your own skill and adapting tuning, you haven't created difficulty, you've created tedium. I don't care whether that's how TXR was back then, it's bad boss design, glad she's nerfed, I hope Genki manage to find a way to balance difficulty better with the other bosses going forward.
>she was just unfair
Welp, have fun saying that about Jintei, White Charisma, and... _him_ .
@@thehwguy4293 Jintei was fast but doable, WC was a pushover in 3 imo, HIM however? in 0? yeah he is the true rocketship lmao

@bananarice5870 true
i'd like them to revert this questionable changes
The Attack/Defence bonuses need to go. Battles are WAY too short. Now that I've gone back to TXR3 its very apparent.
yeah what's the point in shortening the only fun part of the game?
all 200 rivals need +50 hp boost. game is super easy camon, I think that the import tuner challenge was more difficult for this game
Or just have them stop sandbagging. Looking at you, Departures.
Instead of a +50 HP boost, i'd rather they gave every rival a +1 upgrade to all their parts
Only thing I would’ve preferred is for Cinderella to be about as fast as pre patch Angel, since she’s the final boss of stage 2. Cinderella felt too easy and not as hyped as Angel but that’s just me
I still find it odd that before the nerfs, Melancholic Angel was harder than Cinderella Past Midnight.. it took me about 5-6 times to best Melancholic snd Shuwa before I best Cinderella on the first try.
we need a difficulty selection option for people that want an easy game, I personally would like abit of a challenging game.
The main issues are
Maybe it's an EA issue where Genki is trying to show up a multitude of things while also complying to car licensing agreements or something, but the best part about everything is that it can be fixed.
i thought the game was real easy i had issues with a couple races. still fun as hell cant wait to see what comes next
She's the face of the franchise! You don't nerf your face underneath the crust of the Earth!
Exactly, like, does anyone remember Jack Knife is a boss in this game?

Stop yapping about "they nerfed angel, genki has fallen" ok?
The whole video/comments are completely out of point
This is the proof that GENKI is hearing us and making the game more "User friendly" not "masochist friendly"
Dude said stop yapping. An 81hp decrease is not fair. See, this is the problem, y'all have the biggest skill issues and think you should beat everything first try. Nobody wants a "user friendly" easy boring ass game.
@@KingdomTwelve Shes still got more HP than most (if not all) of the cars unlocked at that point with all the power upgrades you have access too.. Pre nerf MA you HAD to either get lucky for her to crash to beat her. even after the nerf shes still got what, 370 hp to your 310, never in 3 or 0 was she this scuffed if you used a halfway decent starter car, like a chaser or a z31, or FC by the time you found her, hell most of the time you had better cars unlocked too.
as she is now, for most people who dont run the rx8 ginza strat shes in a decent place, MAYBE give her 400 hp but at that point MC needs it more to feel like a proper stage end boss.
The problem I have with having to face her the second time, you’re going to have better upgrades and you’ll be on par with her and I hate that so at Full Release, she’s gonna get floored.
Yea that's what I said. Also finding her again is a pain.
There will be far harder bosses than her tho if the game follows a similar path to previous games
@@밝은정신 we can’t do much about it if the new crybabies wanting a nerf. They may be fast the first time, Genki might caved and consider nerfing them early to avoid disappointment and that worries me. I don’t like the direction Angel is taking, she’d better off be as she was, it’s not like she’s a new driver like Eternal Polaris. She’s a member of the infamous 13 Devils.
the ai in general needs an overhaul. MA was way overtuned before the nerf but she still should still have some difficulty
It's TXR, The AI being incredibly mediocre is part of the charm lol.
While it may be a "Boss" for now, She is technically just a "wanderer". Serves as a boss for the EA portion of the game, but if you look at the history of the games and that specific character that has been in others, Shes a wanderer.
Dejected angel and melancholic angel has always been a boss. What universe are you living in?
I blame the casuals who never played any of the original games. The bosses were supposed to be very tough.
5:27 wrong, you said and confirmed yourself the 2nd time you race her her nerf is removed and you have to beat her a 2nd time to get the car in custom in dealer. it even shows this in the changelog, which you posted a yt video about.
Not wrong. Same difficulty meaning as before the nerf. It was cut up from stream.
thats two pre-nerf bosses ive beaten now from two different games Angel from TxR and balteus from armored core VI, weird its happened twice now, twice isnt alot but still weird its happened twice.
yeah im with everyone else i im sure Genki if they can put in what they want to for cars will balance alot of stuff out. Melancholic Angel i think 380 hp would be a good fight and having Midnight be at like 400-415hp would be a wicked fun time. still feels like im eating a sampler plate of stuff i really enjoy so cant wait for the main dish :3
Oh wait for it, when she's level 14 she's easy. Once you beat cinderella she goes to like level 24 and is more like the earlier clips, maybe worse.
Do you think you would have been able to do it with the brz ?
You can. I did pre-patch but it must be said, got lucky that she hit the median in just a couple tries.
The game has serious balancing issues, 95% of the opponents in this game are wayyy too easy.
this will be a very controversial video
I don't think so, unless the majority of the playerbase are newer players which I doubt
@@sonicallstarify im no expert but given its been 18 years since the last release and the playerbase exploding to what looks like six digits out of the blue... i think the majority may just be new players

imo Melancholic Angel is both skill and luck based as when i versed her before the patch, i bet her in the first 2 attempts due to her having some skill issues
and im also not the max verstappen of racing games 😂
Most of the races in this game are jobbers, or you get gassed. It's rare to have a solid long battle in this new game sadly.
BIG AGREE!
They should make a Mode called maximum velocity where all opponents are maxed out and drive as fast as possible, every car on the road too😂
" we only do maximum velocity"
I dont get why ai cars cant catch up like they used to. They don't feel like battles.
Ah yes, someone who clearly didn't watch the video and listen to my full thoughts and would rather just say its an L take.
maybe they could work out a special region based nerf mode for you Canadians.
@@KingdomTwelve Bro. Please

@Stray_Spectre If you watched, then you would have understood everything I said and heard that a nerf was fine but a 81HP was too much and now it went from too hard to way too easy among other arguments. And 14 years? It was 18 years from ITC to this announcement. At least get that right.
as much as i like the game it still needs a lot of work all the races barely last, none are about how well you drive its all about straight line pulls
PVP WOULD BE NUTS ON THIS GAME👌💪🤟
This is a problem with feedback when a Dev listens to the newer crowd than the people who stuck with this series for YEARS. There's still time for adjustments but the game shouldn't be easier, literally, get fucking good, be rewarded. I'm sick of these games being watered down because people suck at a game lmao.
Alternatively just give us a difficulty slider, that's the best way for this because I don't want to be associated with these gentle parented clowns.
TDUSC was the last racing game where the devs made the AI easier because people were complaining, and it SUCKED. They weren't even hard to begin with.
Yooo any chance ur gonna play FH5 when it releases for ps5, i seen 3yrs ago was the last video of FH5 because of crashing
The clip before was a bit too over tuned, looks like after the nerf you over too her and the ai just completely gave up....

Please bring Dark Souls of racing games back.
funny that same median barrier gets rivals like the old games .
I beat her pre nerf in like 15 minutes. Genuinely just target her at turns lmao
Add two difficulty settings.

The fact that people are complaining is just a sign that those people have never played a TER title prior. TER is the Dark Souls of racing games and some bosses/wanderers will take multiple tries to beat.
have _you_ ever played a *T X R* game?
+1, Kingdom
Really based, same thing
i even went to TXR3 yesterday to try her and she smocked me from the start! same as MA prenerf
